    You are seriously my hero. I saw your video on you sharpening a kitchen blade with 4 stones. Omg it was so awesomeness watching you creat obnoxious burrs because us sharpening folk always want to take it to next level.

      Hey, thank you so much! Us sharpeners can’t be satisfied with a good edge, it has to be obnoxiously fine 🤣

    Oh man, your audio is impeccable. Rich and full, good level, perfection. I'm at 50 percent volume on the desktop and you're bang on. Well done.

      @@offthestone Cool! I have a request! Please, if you think it could be helpful, do one on maintaining angle consistency, especially with thicker blade stocks, more obtuse bevels, and more sharply curving bellies. I have a tough time with those and I'm working on it and making *some* progress, but if you have your typical great insights into how you step it up with that it'd be seriously welcome. Just a fan request there. It's a somewhat neglected topic, maybe because it has to just come with practice.

      Are you talking about a larger survival knife like a Ka-Bar Becker Bk2 or Esee 6?

    What is a burr and what does it feel like

    • @offthestone
      @offthestone  Год назад

      A burr is a lip of steel that is raised from grinding a knife on an abrasive. It’s some of the metal that is grinding from the edge of the knife. It feels like a small lip of steel and you’ll know when you raise it because it will catch your finger.
