    That story perfectly sums up the type of man Chris was. He didn't have to go in and talk to them as kids, but he did. He cared about his fans and took the time to show them! I will never get over his death! Rest easy, Chris!

      it was the ativan man, ofcourse i didnt know Chris but since he had depression when he was a teenager the fcking ativan increased this state

      Ativan is an anti-anxiety drug. If anything it would have helped with his depression not make it worse. Trust me my mom's a pharmacist. Plus, as a junkie I know plenty of people who use it to stretch their dope (myself included) and have never heard of it making one suicidal. Now you can be suicidal whilst on it due to a preexisting case but it's not like it's going to cause you to be suicidal. I'm betting he was still struggling with a heroin addiction and just couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't imagine touring and performing whilst being dope sick. Probably took the Ativan in an attempt to OD and when it didn't work hung himself. Shit if I had a dollar for every time I wanted to end my life because of heroin and, more specifically, heroin withdrawals I wouldn't have to live my grandma at 26 years of age.

      i talk w/o knowing this stuff but what if you take an overdose?

    • @rodionromanovich449
      @rodionromanovich449 7 лет назад +1

      huelen thro An overdose on Ativan, or any benzodiazepine, would have sedating effects. It's not uncommon for people to blackout and wake up not remembering a thing, if they wake up at all. It's possible he took it to calm his nerves and make it easier for him to go through with the hanging. Only Cornell knows. One things for sure though: if you're suicidal a handful of Ativan isn't gonna make it any better or worse. Wanting to die feels the same whether you're sober or inebriated. It's just sometimes drugs give you that extra little push you need to take your life.

      The data sheet lists a whole bunch of OD symptoms -- slurred speech, irritability, etc. -- that were mentioned in the reporting about the last phone call with his wife. Given how he was in the late 90s/early 00s vs. how he was the past several years, the idea that an OD of Ativan, perhaps in combination with something else, may have given suicidal thoughts new life seems more plausible than a premeditated suicide.

    I can only imagine how larger-than-life a 6'2" tall Chris would be to you at 12 years old and then to experience his kindness... It would leave an indelible mark.

    I come back to this song and video on the days when I'm not feeling 100%. Chris Cornell's death was a tragedy. But the heart, and soul and light and life of this song continues to inspire me and brings me hope even on my darkest days. I feel like I know him though this song.

    I need to show this to my sister because she hates the music I enjoy (90’s alt and grunge) but she loves this band but anyway the reason I need to show her this because 90’s music is a big reason why we have this music nowadays.

    It's nice to see a tribute to Chris Cornell that isn't Black Hole Sun...I know everyone meant well & I'm certainly not trying to knock anyone but he had so many good songs & 95% of the tributes I saw were of that song & it got to be very unoriginal

    Beautful story, and I've always loved Head and The Heart. But whay do they have to "beautify" Hunger strike? It's sypposed to be dirty. that's why it's so beautiful

      It was just a more mellow interpretation, very fitting for a tribute to someone that has just passed away.
