I' m from England & first got into Soundgarden around 1989 from radio over here & then a friend from Seattle went me a C90 life tape & I was hooked..I only though heard Mother Love Bone & Layne Staleys other band ' Mad Seson' for the first time last yesr...just to go back to my youth & experience ' new grunge' again for the first time was incredible lol
Seems like only yesterday I was attending this amazing show to see this once in a lifetime performance of Stardog Champion. Watching it tonight for the first time since, it's hard to fathom Chris is actually gone. Not only did he have the greatest voice of our generation, he was the last true original of grunge. His closest friends speak volumes of what a wonderful man and father he was. It’s a shame he wasn’t mentally in a good place. May your black hole sun lead you elegantly into heaven, Chris - Rest In Peace.
Chris isn't the last "true original" of Grunge -- Screaming Trees' Mark Lanegan is still actively recording and touring (both solo and collab projects), and the same for The Melvins (did you forget that they were a Seattle band from that era that many of the Grunge bands that made it big looked up to. Then, there's Mudhoney who put out a new album within the last cpl./few years.
Wish Temple of the Dog made ONE more record together! These 5 musicians have AMAZING chemistry! Grateful I saw T.O.T.D once in San Francisco......the entire SF show is on youtube from the front row!!!! Incredible!!!
I LOVE ANDREW WOOD, I LOVE CORNELL (named my kid after him) NO ONE IN THE FREAKIN WORLD HAS A RIGHT TO DO THIS SONG... 'EXCEPT' CHRIS CORNELL...I honestly think (outside of Andys family) that Chris was 'most' effected by his death. breaks my heart to see him break down into tears everytime he talks about him..
Watch shawn smith do it. He looks and sounds like what I'd imagine a 55 year old andy to sound and look like. You'll change your mind. Watch him do it with MLB.
@@NineteenEighty8 I really doubt that considering Chris was Andy’s roommate for a time. And Chris made an entire album called Temple Of The Dog dedicated to him. But maybe I’m wrong.
IT WAS THE SWEETEST THING EDDIE INTRODUCING CHRIS CORNELL ( HIS BEST FRIEND) MOVING OFF STAGE SO CHRIS AND THE BAND SING A MOTHER LOVE BONE SONG RIP ANDREW WOOD AND RIP CHRIS CORNELL. I WISH PEOPLE WOULD NOT HATE EDDIE OR PEARL JAM. THAT WAS AN AWESOME PERFORMANCE!! I LOVE YOU EDDIE!! 😊 🩷 🤘 ✌️
Omg- I would have LOVED to have been there. Just to hear this is Absolutely AMAZING!!! Mother Love Bone, Chris & PJ ALL Amazing groups. What a tribute. Ty so much for sharing ! ☮️
Cornell and Wood, for those who don't already know the history, were roommates (or Chris let him crash at his place while he was trying to break from his heroin addiction) back in the mid-late '80s before Soundgarden got signed to a major label. Also, am I alone in thinking he's looking a lot like Black Crowes' Chris Robinson in this performance?
listen to the applause when cornell comes on well deserved ,,,,,,,,,,,stardog champion, gald i ahve it on video ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,how old was i when this song was written ,,long long time ago now ,, enjoy it
I couldn’t believe my eyes! Not one night but both nights! Only thing that would have made it even better we have been at they played hey baby the Hendrix cover!
Great seats you guys had!! I can't remember what night this was, first? This was definitely the highlight of the weekend for me. What an unforgettable weekend!
Look, it's Mother Love Bone. No, it's Soundgarden. No, it's Green River. No, it's Pearl Jam. No, it's Temple of the Dog singing a Mother Love Bone song!!
Neither Pearl Jam or soundgarden would be a band today I believe if it wasn’t for Andrew wood. Rip. Mother love bone is basically Pearl Jam without Andrew and Chris was his roommate when he died. He died before the album was released Gentle groove probably one of the best on the album.
Soundgarden would most definitely have been a band, albeit probably with a slightly different sound post 1990. They had been around for several years prior. Definitely not Pearl Jam, though.
I agree with this entire comment, but don't forget Xana. but if anyone is gonna sing Andy's song it should be Cornell but I think Eddie would've done it justice just wouldn't have that deep personal connection to it
Mother Love Bone Forever, what a band. What a tribute.

RIP Andy Wood!
At 4:00 Chris looks back at Matt and Stone and all of them smile...they know they are killing it!
Brotherly, artistic, transcendent love - I still hurt for Chris & all those he touched.
Well said!
So right!!! dammit I miss CC so much.

Hopelessly, he's in Hell.
What a good ,mean spirited arsehole you are making a comment like that about anyone who takes their own life through mental illness..shame on you 😠

Cornell really steals the show
Really, Andy stole the show through Chris.
Him and Cameron,too.(1/2 Soundgarden).Greetings from Chile

But yeah, Chris mourned his Andrews death until his own.

Whenever I see legends pay tribute to Andy, it gives me chills.
Love the way Matt Cameron gets into it on drums. What a player. Great song, fantastic musicians.
At the end they all glance at each other and smile...no posing, but knowing they just created something special. That's is cool...

Holy crap he has the greatest rock voice
I will love Chris forever..I just feel it when I see and hear him!

Fraking AmazeBallz Chris RIP sorely missed but never forgotten
The fact that he included “that’s right” ♥️♥️♥️. Because he could’ve easily left it out, but I feel like that was sort of an Andy Wood signature 😊.

@@TommyLaVista 🤘
@@TommyLaVista it's nice hearing from a genuine individual!
One of the best songs of the grunge era, without a doubt. Chris did a great job, but I'd like to hear Eddie's vocals on that one though.
Me too... ☹
@Jedimaster420 , maybe that would have been cool.
With great respect to Andy Wood.
I hate Pearljam....I LOVE this! God bless Andrew...r.i.p..
John Parks totally agree
Thanks 🤘❤️🔥🤘
RIP Andy the megestic!
reckon they'll play this on the Temple reunion tour?
If only! I'll have to hope they tour in Europe!
One of Jagger Best!!
the last of the best is gone, r.i.p. chris
Love that comment! ;)
This song looks similar than *"Slither"* by Velvet Revolver when the Weiland died 7 years ago!
which members of PJ are from mother lovebone
Chris and Stone are born on the same day...July 20th
Andrew would be proud
Cómo se llama la canción
I need this record bootleg
You Lucky Dog... BadAss Video... What camera did you record with?
This MLB classic is one of those rare songs which is equal parts Rock anthem and power ballad!!

I should hope they did a good job considering that they ARE mother love bone with a new singer and drummer!!!
And lead guitarist. Mike was not in MLB. Only Stone and Jeff were.
