Bought Himalayan 450 . Absolutely fell in love with it , it has completely different characteristics compared to 411. Its a very good offroader but at the same time it adapts to the roads , thanks to its suspension. Power delivery is limear, more suited for beginners, old people not like outright power of ktm. But you can always tune its power with aftermarket accessories . It's avg mileage after 1st service is31kmpl some of my friends also getting upto 34kmpl by simple tweaking through fuelx pro. Its more of tourerer rather ( 60% onroad, 40% offroad) than pro off-roader
@@soumyananda2528 Hi , I preferred it more off road than I did on road.. Great little bike..It is like you say a completely different bike but even still Enfield has been clever and managed to incorporate a little bit of the 411’s DNA ..Enjoy your bike and ride safe 🙂👍
I'm keeping my 411 for sure now. Just got back from a lovely ride out to see my Son and his partner at Chippenham. The 411 chipped along nicely enough thank you very much :) A lot of riding experience between you three Old timers:) Old guys rule. Hahaaaaaaaa
Thanks for that, Dickie. My take-away is that the best thing about “the new one” is that it might free up some well-sorted “old ‘uns” as (some) people trade in.
As a proper purist-armchair-driver (in fact the only motobike I have ever driven was old Jawa 250 back when I did my driving license a quarter century ago) - based purely on what I have seen in coutless YT videos - the 411 seems to have more appeal and character, while the 450 is a lot more modern, more comparable to its competition (like MT450) and also dessgned to look more modern. I personally hope to get the 411 Scram next year (and avoid a divorce in the process) as I simply think it is so cool and universal. I am also wondering whether RE will eventually bring a 450 Scram, or only the Guerilla.
Now’t wrong with Jawas 😄… Or Yava as the pronunciation goes..I definitely reckon you should go for the Scram you’ll love it.. Flowers and chocolates for the wife 🙏… Take care 👍ATB
A good honest review Dickie. I rode one for the first time this weekend and was really excited about it but I must admit I walked away a bit underwhelmed. I found it comfy for me at 6'2" and the little screen seemed quite effective for me. The clutch and gearbox were lovely and smooth but I do agree about the engine although the one I rode had less than 300 miles on it so time will tell. The main thing I found was it just didn't seem to have the character of the 411 and I have owned 2 of those in the past and are tempted to get another at less than 4k on the road while they are shifting all the old stock. Interesting what you said at the end about the CF Motto 450 as I asked the chap at the dealership where I test rode mine as they also do CF Motto how the Himalayans were selling and he said they were doing ok but have slowed down a bit now as a lot of people have said they are waiting to try the CF Motto first before they commit.
Thanks 🙂.. The 450 is a good bike no mistake..Lovely gearbox like you say.. It is a better bike in some respects but as the saying goes ‘ swings and roundabouts ‘…. Royal Enfield are the masters of marketing hype 😄… I’m going to put money on the CFMOTO 450 being one of the best buys out there..CFMOTO don’t do hype just good bikes..All my local dealers allocation are spoken for.. Plus demo bikes will initially be very thin on the ground..I’ve heard the 450 motor is derived from one of CFMOTO’s quad bikes so it’ll be torquey I reckon..I’ll keep my 411 , it does everything for me as long as I’m not in too much of a hurry .. Thanks for watching 👍ATB
Looks like a good bike for the price, but all the enfields are. It's not quite the do it all bike we were all expecting but they have done a great job building that bike, cheers for the videos!
Nice one Dick !!! I took out the 450 for 2 hour ride ....took it off road , abs off on performance mode, was great fun ! However, I'm going to wait a year before I decide to buy one. I still love my Meteor 350 and KTM . Cheers
Good Morning Dickie , I must say i like the new Himalayan but you said you would'nt trade in you 411 for a new one & i have to agree with 100% the old one is in a class of its own , so take care & ride safe
Yerp… It’s a nice little engine.. Just found it a little vibey but then it is new.. Slightly better on the trail I think and obviously a higher cruising speed.. The cruising speed will be the carrot for most people 🙂👍
Order one last got all excited.....test rode one last week found you need to rev it too much to get it going, which makes it very vibby. Suspension is the best improvement. Overall, I'm not impressed and I've cancelled my order. i will keep my Scram 😊
Hi Chris.. It’s a good bike.. With all of RE’s development team that get paid good money it’s going to be I guess 😄.. Wouldn’t trade my 411 for one though ..👍ATB
Definitely agree on the harsh feel of the engine and vibration after a test ride the other day. Also I found it had a weird sort of throttle response lag especially when shutting the throttle. Think I would wait a year until the problems are ironed out !
Weird isn’t it.. The old long stroke feeling a nicer motor .. Totally agree with you on the throttle response..It’s electronic..Thanks for watching 👍 ATB
Dickie,That was a pretty good ride out check of the new himmy, like you said it would be interesting for you to do a back to back comparison 450/411 to see what you think 😎👍

It's a good bike Jimmy without a doubt...Not quite good enough to trade the 411 for...If my 411 blew its guts out tomoz i'd buy a 450 ....OR... the new CFMoto 450 that hasn't quite landed in the UK yet.....You guys are liking it a lot apparently 🙂ATB..
Interesting video thanks for making it always value these reviews over the paid stuff, I was one of the ones that had a nightmare with a 411 e5 as they couldn’t get the bits to sort it when it had issues, so ended up rejected was a shame as I really really liked the longstroke riding a 1927 16h Norton longstroke they really suit me :) love the look of the pre unit bullet great. If I was to revisit RE it’d be an old Pre Unit or a 411 again an use Hitchcocks. On a t7 at the mo it’s a shame Enfield couldn’t have stretched the valve clearances out on the Sherpa to be better 25k on the T7. I wish they had just given us all an updated 411 an kept it simple. Everyone’s taste is different though so guess it’s good the more options the better.
Firstly , thanks for watching and your kind comments..Shame about your experience with the B5..My old 4 hasn’t really had any issues apart from the good old rusty head race bearing problem .. Over 5 years down the line now and it gets used in the dirt and has at one point been partially submerged 😄.. Perhaps a 500 version of the 411 giving a little more bhp would of been the answer for a lot people but I think we’re now looking at the phasing out of air cooled motors regarding emissions and trying to keep them cool … Hopefully I’m wrong..I almost bought a Tenere ,fantastic bike & motor but went with the DE 800 in the end..Take care and ride safe 👍
@@DickieMintCycles very nice on the DE I had a 650xt for a while one of my all time favourite modern bikes :) yep I think we are probably looking at that I hope they at least manage to keep one in the range. Quite underwhelmed by the 450 to be honest. My only bugbear with the 411 was it was underpowered and like trying to gee up a mule on fast roads, especially loaded up. Style wise I much prefer the 411, it has so much more character. RE have gone for giving it a facelift, when it was the speed and stamina of the engine holding it back!

I've followed nathanthepostman his comment is it does just the same, yet he considers it heavy off the stand, carries upper weight, larger tank/air filter location.. still spent his money on one, yet early days. Interesting if Sandy would take it out, his views.. clear like myself, if it only offers going faster, weight is much the same, larger overall dimension wise.. my 411 will see me out.
