Neil has said that it would be egotistical to believe that as vast as the universe is, that life only exists on earth. Where his skepticism arises, as everyone’s should, is the belief that aliens have arrived on Earth.

Does Neil explain complicated things in a way people understand? A lot of his explanations are wrong. But he delivers his misinformation with a strong confidence voice so his listeners are left with the impression they're better informed.
For example his explanation of the rocket equation. He says propellent goes exponentially with payload mass. No. It goes exponentially with delta V (the change in velocity needed).
Or he'll say the James Webb Space Telescope is parked at the L2 point in earth's shadow to keep it cold. No. JWST is in a large halo orbit around L2 and never comes near earth's shadow.
There are many examples. Neil's an entertainer. His focus is crafting dramatic sound bites, ward robe, hand gestures, vocal delivery. He doesn't have time to study the topics he's supposedly explaining.
I'm hoping it will become more widely known that this guy is full of shit.

And he is very combative if God forbid the person disagrees with him. He has this arrogance that he is the ultimate authority on the topic and doesn't allow for the possibility that he may be wrong! He's also very quickly to sign off on anything that comes from the authorities. Thats what I wish I conveyed in the video lol

@@Iammany100 I've put together a list of Tyson's questionable claims. Google "Fact checking Neil deGrasse Tyson" and I believe it will be on the first page of hits. Duck Duck Go doesn't find it for some reason.
There are several pages with that title. Mine is from hopsblog (my nickname is Hop).
I am hoping people will use my list as a resource. When someone trots out "According to renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson..." you can truthfully reply Neil is often full of shit.
