I remember when I was 14, I was playing Zero 4 on my gba when I was out at a restaurant with my family. The waiter came up to take my order, and he paused for a second when he saw the game I was playing. "Dude...is that Megaman Zero?"
It's those kinds of moments that count.

@@JayRocArt oh, hours and hours of practice/rinse and repeat. Nowadays, if I feel nostalgic, I use an emulator tho, and the savescumming really helps 😅

Nothing gives me more joy than seeing Zero get attention and recognition. And I will have you know I did play ZX. The lack of ZX 3 only adds to the void.
Zx 3 will come one day. Hopefully this collection doing well will give them the motivation
True story, I bought and played both ZX and ZX advent, but I was never able to beat the hard mode of ZX advent when I first played it. Then I waited patiently in the hopes of a ZX 3 but it never came. Years after I beat ZX advent, I went back and decided to complete my hard mode playthrough and !!!SPOILER ALERT!!! I saw that there was an extra scene at the end that implied that a 3rd game would be coming. Only then did I do some research and realize that ZX 3 was planned but did not come to fruition due to poor sales of ZX advent. Needless to say, I was disappointed.
To this day I check to see if there's a new Megaman X related game every year. It's probably my favorite game series of all time.
@@reticentgamer6861 The bittercold reality of the gaming industry..Many games were never brought to light due to these conditions..sadly the Zero series is one of them..I mean dang..Zero has got to be one of the most badass videogame characters of all time..once you know his origin and his story..You will want to know more!

@Joshua Fischer It's all but confirmed that X9 is in development, and IntiCreates (the devs of MMZ, MMZX, and Gunvolt) said they are working on two games, one being multiplatform and one being Switch exclusive. They also said both games were from existing series, so based on what they know they're probably working on ZX3 and Gunvolt 3. (Gunvolt 3 being switch exclusive unless it sells well I'm which it will become a limited time exclusive for 1 year before becoming multiplatform.) After that they can work on LAIX-2, LAIX-3, Bloodstained 2, Bloodstained 3, Dragon Marked for Life, and many other games.

I Have been a MegaMan Zero fan since the first release of its game and my childhood revolved around MegaMan. This game was literally like a brother to me. I cant believe my very own eyes that MegaMan Zero is finally becoming relevant again and getting adored by everyone IT FEELS LIKE IM IN A DREAM!
I played them when I was in kindergarten, and I had no idea what I was doing, in my elementary days I knew a little more and I later I absolutely love this and zx, they're my absolute favorite games ever.
@@crimsoncrusader518 That's awesome to hear that. It's crazy how the megaman series (especially zero series) touched our heart and the love and passion we have for this game is mad strong.
I played Mega Man X Collection through ZX back in 2006 when I was 12 and I loved all of them.
The Zero story is the most emotional story and gives a lot of weight for the X series.
When I saw Zero in the one after X for the first time, I was like "Zero is that you? You look different than before". He still looked pretty cool though, X included.
I *_LOVED_* playing this as a teenager.
They recently re-released the entire series on PlayStation Network. I just wish they made it playable on The PlayStation Vita so it could still be portable.
The Switch version is technically portable.
A switch lite is a pretty good alternative

When I was a kid all I had was a Gameboy so I had no clue this series is notoriously hard bc I figured all games were like that lol. It would probably kick my ass now after years of hand holding AAA titles.
I also had no clue the games were that deep narratively, I just felt cool being a robot samurai.
the ending in Zero 4.. did bring tears to my eyes.. great story through out the series
its not as hard as its made out to be. Z1 is a bit of a pain if you are not good at it though (you can grind to avoid said pain but who wants to grind in an action platformer

People think they're called Mega Man Zero after the protagonist, but they're actually called that because that's how many of the games you're good enough to finish.

@Joshua Fischer I beat all 4 games. They're not really that hard. The only hard one is Zero 1 due to the forced grinding, bad level design, and extremely punishing deaths.
@@krimsonkatt the life system is Z1 is hell. Thank god the Legacy Collection added the extra saves for newcomers.

And Init Create made the various side scroller games on bases of Megaman games for all handheld versions I think.

I was just replaying these. IMO the best games in the Megaman series.
Best story & art style! The took the good elements from some previous games, concentrated them, and improved them in this series, too, you can tell.
Tbh most MegaMan series are pretty fun to play, each with their own style.
The gameplay was fun, but the art style was rubbish.

Man I loved them games when I was younger and am SO GLAD that people are giving them the attention they deserve. So many let's players stop at X5 and don't move on (because they know X6 and X7 are garbage)
X8 isn't all that bad though.

@Joshua Fischer Wow, what a long rant. Anyways, the Megaman Zero games aren't that hard, only Z1 is hard due to bad design, and even then if you have infinite lives and E-Crystals (since the upgrade costs are insane in Zero 1) the game is the same difficulty as the next 3 games. ZX and it's sequel are about as challenging as X1-5, which I say is a fair amount of difficulty, especially when you remove the antiquated lives system. The zero series is far easier then something like Hollow Knight, which I did beat, but it was REALLY hard. Cuphead is even harder than that. I don't know about Soulsborne as I never have played the games (might play DS2 in the future if it's on PS4 as it's rated T instead of M) but of what I've seen if the gameplay it seems like it's around the same level as hollow knight, maybe slighty easier as I heard that HK is basically 2D dark souls with the same kind of open-world, atmosphere, difficulty, death system, and story structure.
@@krimsonkatt Cuphead and Soulborne didn't meet the bullets hell from Psikyo Shooting game like Gunbird or Sengoku Blade or the Touhou game.

Maybe it's because I grew up playing the Classic and X series, but when the Zero series came out, I never found it to be particularly hard. The first one had some unfair moments but you'd typically learn them pretty fast if you weren't braindead. If anything it's a lot easier than some of the classic Megaman games.
Is it weird that I had an easier time with Mega Man Zero 2 and 3 than I had with the Mega Man X series?

@@narcspector If you like the Darksiders series, you' ll probably like this one too. Most people didn't like it at first, including me, because it tried to be a souls game. However, since then, they have given us the classic battle mode, which makes it a Darksiders game. Perhaps not the best in the series, but in the end, I enjoyed it.

We didn't get a Mega Man Legends 3 because Capcom killed it due to Inafune leaving.
And Inafune leaving was because Capcom was being a bully.
It all comes full circle to Capcom's fault there is no Legends 3.
What posses me off is that the game is done, they just didn't release it.

I'm pretty sure _Mega Man Zero_ is the first videogame I played in my life. _Z4_ was the first game I ever beat (six-year-old, with Easy Mode and a LOT of savestate abuse).
I played all 4 Mega Man Zero games on GameBoy Advance when I was growing up so there’s a lot of nostalgia there. But what inspired you to do a video on this in 2020?

wow, what a blast from the past. I played this on emulator without knowing english. The game had way too many systems for how young I was, think I only beat a few bosses and then couldn't figure out how to make use of the fairy people so I quit (or got stuck, don't recall).
Exactly this for me, and this was with the emulator save states.
I also realized many of my childhood games (Sonic Advance 2, Megaman X5) had easy but enjoyable curves.
with now the all zero collection released.. you could go back and play it..
really love the story and a great system too ;D
and even savescumming is available in the collection

2- Megaman Zero is not hard, it never was hard even in the highest dificult it is still just as easy as Megaman X.
the only hard megamanX game is X6, and still unlocking everything is pretty time consuming

I’m sorry to be that guy, but: You’re not “forced” to use the Z-Saber. You can still shoot enemies from a safe distance with the buster gun. Also, Mega Man ZX was actually released for the DS, not 3DS.
