Remember distortion below 1% is normal inaudible. Speakers have distortion in the range of several % due to physics regardless of brand or cost. Yamaha MX10000 will blow them both away.
Interestingly the toroidal transformer is not shielded on the Yamaha. These are both Beautiful Amps. I was offered the Yamaha and its pre for $14.5K AUD (heavily discounted) after buying some Yamaha NS5000 speakers. I didn't go for it for two reasons. The faux Retro looks of the Yamaha (I'm 56 and have no desire to be transported back to 1988) and my Plan was always to buy another ONKYO M5000R and run them BTL (Now done). That solved my problem for under $4K. It serves my requirements, and I have over 200000 uf of capacitance. The Luxman M-10x is probably the big Banana but really: "do you really need a class A Amp?". Suddenly there's an option ten times more expensive than the one I'm happy with. Back to the class A/B shootout: In this comparison I think the telling thing is look at both AMPs with the top cover off. It's the Accuphase by a mile. Seriously in blind sonic testing I'm convinced statistically that these AMPS are indistinguishable.
No Voltage Selector switch there. check model do you have U model ..........AC 120 V, 60 Hz Tmodel ...........AC 220 V, 50 Hz K model ..........AC 220 V, 60 Hz A model ..........AC 240 V, 50 Hz B, G models .....AC 230 V, 50 Hz L model ...........AC 220-240 V, 50/60 Hz V model ..........AC 110 V, 60 Hz J model ..........AC 100 V, 50/60 Hz Usually technicians who know that how to change input Voltage by wiring
@@JNElectrics thank for reply! By the way, the point is the transformer "sealed" ? I'm asking cause I've got a pair of Marantz MA9S2 monos and the electronic technician told me the transformer was "sealed" and thenit was impossible changing the voltage. Thanks!
Compare the speaker binding posts and as much as I love Accuphase, the Yamaha should get two green check marks!

Blow them away? No. And who will repair a vintage MX10000? Where will you find spare parts for the MX10000? Exactly.
Nice

Thank you for sharing your experience. Your information is very helpful for other audio lovers.
In 3:20 where did you ask for the pricing for the accuphase amp?

By the way, is it possible to convert a 110V YAMAHA M-5000 to 220V as there is no switch for voltage changing ?

I should believe that your technician is wiser, Shouldn't I?
My heart and to an extent ear for Yamaha but I love them both, if there was no Yamaha amp, it would be Accuphase for me.
ok
