I am a British-Indian born in England back in 1974. I believe Malcolm X was a great man because he LEARNED from his mistakes, with each new chapter of his life he learned and changed until towards the end of his life he became the best version of himself. That's how life is for humans, or at least theoretically; our lives are divided into chapters, with each new chapter we evolve through learning and keep evolving ie becoming enlightened. I always say that it is not the making of mistakes that's wrong, so long as one LEARNS from those mistakes, because it is impossible for any earthling not to make mistakes, because we can only learn from mistakes. So long as you LEARN from your mistakes you are a good person irrespective of your past. As for this movie it is a Masterpiece in film-making; it doesn't take long for the viewer to realise who inspired Spike Lee, as this movie plays like Goodfellas; and I believe it was Scorsese who taught Spike Lee.
@@basquiat9015 I think Basquiat was implying, most white film reviewers do not explore great films like Malcolm X, dealing with the Black experience in America before the year 2000. It is what it is. It just doesn't happen often.

In Malcom’s personality I find it a little confusing cause all of his life was struggling with his identity though his mom was white and raised him by her self, how come that didn’t have any effect on his personality and way of thinking 🤔
His mom was not white. She was light skin and half white but the one drop rule meant she was completely black. Also, she has to raise him by herself because WHITE PEOPLE killed his father. How is this difficult to understand?
Great analysis. I believe this is Spike Lee and Denzel Washington's best film. Both men deserved to win Oscars, in my opinion.
thank you.
Without a doubt - on all your points
My favorite movie of all time.

A white man covering what makes this movie so great is what makes this movie so great.
probably the last thing that would make any movie great.
@@LearningaboutMovies True, but a Pan-African biographical movie has a lot to it.

thanks.
for future reference it's BIO-pick vs BYE-aww-pick
For future reference, the lamest commentors correct pronunciation and say nothing else, usually because they have no ideas or intriguing observations.

Because he and other black people in his life were mistreated for being black. How could you not understand this substantial point?
His mom was not white. She was light skin and half white but the one drop rule meant she was completely black. Also, she has to raise him by herself because WHITE PEOPLE killed his father. How is this difficult to understand?
His mother was not "white ". She was biracial and detested her white blood.
his mom was half white i think
His mother was biracial. Her black mom was raped by a white man.
