Yeah this song means a lot to me, it's one of the 1st chili pepper songs I learned on guitar, I only started singing a lot later in my music career so when I was finally able to sing and play this song at the same time I felt like I crossed a HUGE milestone in my musical ability. Also, the lyrics carried me through some rough times! Love it

Just a fun fact Chad Smith went to my university in Michigan. I grew up there. Then he played at our church and left after a while cause he went to LA for an audition for the RHCP. Obviously he got the job.
To this day his parents live a few miles from my parents in the Detroit area. I have been living in Slovakia now for about 30yrs. Much love❤
