Lisa, you're awesome and fantastic. In just a few munites, you've really created me a printer. i will spread your channel far and wide. Thanks very much.
This is phenomenal, Thank you so much for this information. My chemistry lab has over 20 tables and was SUCH a struggle to align properly by moving the tables the normal way. This saved me so much frustration!
Thank you for unlocking this mystery of Word. I was having trouble that after inserting an image the text and images on the pages below will move all over the page. This video should help. Thanks and Tuumbs Up!
Really appreciate all your videos on MS Word, I was struggling to get my CV formatted for two days now, the table I was using to enter text dragged all other shapes and images on to the second page whenever the table moved onto the second page. Now I sorted it out after watching your video. Many thanks, these videos are so helpful.
Lisa, Thanks so much for this. With one exception I think I got everything that you were explaining. Until now I have had so much grief with textboxes and thought the people who invented them should be hanged as war criminals. The one exception, which reminded me of so many other tutorials that I have watched was increasing or reducing the size of a picture. You did it and produced the result as if by magic without saying how you do it. Perhaps if I watch again I will see how you did it. I am going to create a practice document and play about with the boxes until I can really get them to work. So far, positioning boxes has been almost impossible for me and reduced me to near suicide with frustration. Thanks again. Your lovely, clear English accent helps, too!
Ms Lisa, your content is ❤. You are an amazing teacher. Your voice texture and and way of presentation stuff is extraordinary, keep it up. Good Wishes from BHARAT (NDIA).
Thank you soooo much, been going crazy trying to do this in my dissertation! I just put all the tables and diagrams in a text box its great!!! I am just wondering, do the diagrams and tables move together with the context when i am adding more context. sometimes it seems that the diagrams or tables do not move together. Thanks again!
Thank you. Very useful basic info that we will use each week in our publishing endeavors. Our specific question is: I am creating a PDF eBook from a Word document. When I put in our illustrations, Word gives me two choices: Fixed Position on Page OR Move with Text. I go through to ensure that my 80 some pics are in the correct position with text and when I reopen it, some pics are over other and have moved. How can I ANCHOR a picture within the text. This answer would also be helpful to your text box presentation unless the text box keeps it where you place it. Thank you.
very good, very clear and well-spoken information and easy to follow for a novice like me in word very helpful with my studying and assignments as a mature student.
I am using the latest version of Word. I selected a built-in text box called "sideline quote" which I am using for quotes from interviews. I want any text I write above the quote to push the text box down. As it is now, the text that is not part of the quote continues below the quote, which is rather frustrating. Additionally, I have to physically move the text box around each time I type text on a different part of the Word document.
how do you put a line equally and central to a box ie i have a square on a 45 degree angle so a diamond so to say, i want to put a line central on the 45 angle through the middle but i want it to only go part of the way through the box so not from edge to edge and i want it to be equally in from each edge if that makes sense thanks for any help
Hello Lisa, thanks for your video. One question: for publishing in KDP. Got a text with many images. Need to align them at the centre top/bottom of text. Two sizes 11x11cm most of them, a few are rectangles. Is there a way to automatise the process, or just one by one? thanks. Javier
Hi Lisa, quick question: So ive watched a few of your videos. The table one for 4 pictures is particularly helpful. However Im having an issue inserting a SINGLE one cell image. (not 4 or 2 side by side as you demonstrated). My issue is that the picture does not seem to fill the whole table cell even when I select the options you mentioned (like auto-adjust or Keeping the "original image size" in the Options Compression details checkbox in the file TAB. SO i have to manually enlarge each picture, losing quality. The original Source file pictures (more than 100 of them) were scanned in A4, and the WOrd document is setup to A4 as well. So my question is why when I try your method does the system reduce the picture, and doesnt insert it "As is" and "as it should be" since both the original scan and the word document Match. (regardless of margins or borders etc). It seems I cant get the image to "bleed through"... sort of speak. Another quick question. Have you had positive experiences sending your files to Professional Print? how does Word handle the PDF -ready print file once all edits have been made? In your experience is the image quality worth it? I know Adobe has a PDF create option for PRO users, but ive never tried that one. Cheers from Italy thanks for all you do.
Hi Maocori. Thank you for your question. Are you inserting the image straight onto the word doc page or into a table/text box? Are the files JPEGS, PNG or SVG? If the files are JPEGS word can compress the images when inserted so can loose quality when enlarged. Sadly word isn't the best software to use for professional photography printing. Personally I print from photoshop as I'm also a professional photographer.
This works for shapes and text, but how do I do the same for 2 shapes? What I mean is, I have a 2 Textboxes one on top of the other. I would like to change the size of the first Textbox by dragging the handle downwards. As a result, I'm expecting the lower Textbox to move downwards so as to maintain the spacing between the two. How can I achieve that?
Create the size text box you want. Place the text boxes together where you want them, select them both by holding down the CMD/CTRL key and clicking on both, then GROUP them together. This way they will stay as one item and you can move them around wherever you like and the text wont interfere with them.
When I print my document that contains objects. In print preview it shows it correctly but when it prints it cuts off the object. The text is fine but object is cut off. Help!
So I’ve a prob on edit wrap points on windows 11 when I move the lines the wording doesn’t move with it it all so the lines just go over the words instead of pushing them back wondered if you could remedy this for me
Great video, but actually needs updating to current versions. Also note that Word on the web cannot do some of this, you have to have the desktop version. It's a PITA as it will glitch up---there's a stupid hidden way you have to get the desktop version even if you're licensed! (I'm using an enterprise license so you'd think it would work, but NOOOooooooo. Still after all these decades stupid MS trix. Sheesh)
Linda B.I have a question? On the spell check in the review ribbon you have ABC with check mark. Mine doesn't have that, upper left has Editor, thesaurus, word count, proofing. Purchased Aug. 2019 am I missing something checked options and all the right boxes are ticked.
Hi. What are you trying to do? Then I can assist you correctly. I was recording using the iMac version of Word and you may be on a PC which may look a little different.
@@LisaDoe thanks Linda for getting back to me. I'm on PC windows 10 and I was looking for ABC with check mark to do spell check, In the view tab on left. I found out it is called editor on my version, does same thing just has a different name, and I had to play around with Word to figure it out. 😍
I'm having problem in spacing.. When I'm converting it to PDF format ,the image is going to next page and unnecessary spacing is adding to the other pages.. What should I do please help!!!
also.. there are large blank spaces left in a page, as there's little text between them. So I'm left with a page that looks odd. One image, little text and a large blank space... Tried reducing the images so 2 would fit in one page, but then the little details in them gets lost.
Another tutorial lacking the most difficult way of setting a picture onto the page. The one where the picture fills the whole page and the text before and after does not create empty wholes.
'Happily moving around'? Yours is, but mine isn't! I just cannot get a text box to do what you are doing with it, moving it around at your pleasure. Please re-explain that slowly. What have you done with your cursor to enable that movement? Where are you clicking?

text box is not moving , which is fixed at particular position , if we add some content before on text box which places extacly in previous place.

yes I agree, and I now have my desktop PC running Word and laptop next to it running Lisa's videos - great way to learn.
I was trying to make a picture directory with contact information and the image and pictures keep moving. I'll try this to see if it works.

Yes, Word can be a little clunky, especially with a high number of boxes. It's trying to accommodate them all on the various pages.

sorry, also... I have already inserted all the images, without a box. Do I need to do all again and create the box, then insert images?
No, you can insert a square shape, send it to the back and simply place it around your image.
