This is the most helpful video I’ve watched! You showed every step. I spent hours at work trying to create a form similar to this and I was drawing my own tables and had formatting issues up the wazoo. And I’d never even thought of using text boxes to move stuff around! I’d always tried just using tabs and lining stuff up. God bless you for sharing your knowledge with people for free. This video was exactly what I needed!!!
Yea - I finally did it, I created my purchase receipt and saved it as a template and created a folder to put it in and have easy access too . THANK YOU !!
Thank you for the video. This is very complicated and requires a lot of time. Try using Content Control (under the Developer tab - you'll have to turn it ON first) to create Yes/No and fillable boxes in seconds. But above all, you will be able to lock all the other text on the page and only allow a person to fill in where you want their input.
@@katelynboeppler4913 I provided a link here, but it was removed. Please run a search about Content Control for Mac and you'll find a few great explanations and instructions on how to make it happen.
This is amazing. Thank you. I'm doing a project for a class in college and part of the course curriculum is to make a job application form. This is exactly what I was looking for!!!!
I used the development tab to insert usable check boxes. And if you want to protect your form but allow some fields to be changed, I could do that with the dev tab too.
Please explain and what version of word are you using? I did this at work a few years back but cant find it in my personal office 365 developer tab ! CNF1219@gmail.com Thanks Christine
Hi, I would have used CTRL +D to duplicate the tick boxes, rather than CTrL +C, then CTRL +V. Find it quicker. I thought this was going to be on how to create a form in which the curser automatically goes to the next text entry field, but found it more about an indepth tables exercise. Well described though!
I learned a lot from watching this video. Thank you so much. I do have a question. Is there any way of creating fillable forms where after creating the document, it won't shift or move the document down...like filling in a PDF Form? I've tried using the Developer and restrict editing, but the form still moves. I'm trying to create these forms without converting it into a PDF Form.
Appreciate your training. Solved many unanswered questions I never seem to have the time to figure out as a part-timer. Would appreciate development and design for self-study lesson training e-docs, mentor eguide, and learning ejournal.
Hi Lisa, as Promised I gave your site a mention on my new web channel. I even left a link in the comments section below. Thanks for posting a great channel, Joseph.
This is generally excellent, thanks very much. A practical example, with great detail. Only minor criticism I'd make is that there is some duplication in the latter stages, making an already long video a little too long. I am starting a new job soon, in which I will be creating forms, I'll be copying the ideas here and using tables and text boxes.
@@LisaDoe I'm still watching your vids one by one. I still want to discover if I can create a link for file download of any form I created, be it it's a letter head, fillable form, non fillable etc. 2. I want to know how to design letter head so that design can go to the next page. Thank you very much for the information. God bless you.
My attention was sparked by your last post !! Furthermore, I thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with this collection of Microsoft Word form-building techniques. It's really worth watching, and it helped me progress in my learning because I'm a beginner. I wish you the best of !! :)
Thank You so much. I am 76 yrs. young and enjoy keeping up with WORD. First, your voice calms me. Your pace is perfect and I learn so much so fast. Is this the best way to communicate with you? I noticed that when I typed up this comment I had to sign in which is not always required by other videos. I like that feature for you and me. Very nice. Does that mean you have some control of the posts which are visible to the public. If so I would like to ask if there is a way to make a post with out my full name. Thank you
Hi Linda, Thank you so much for your lovely comment. At present, this is the only way to contact me but I'm not sure why you had to sign in? I don't have control over which comments the public can see as all my comments are visible accept anything which is offensive.
I never recommend to reduce the left margin too much, since people may want to print the form later on and punch it for filing. I always prefer to leave a margin of 0.8" for that purpose
Thank you I love ❤️ the you take you time special for people like me never do that stuff and is my first time do it .. so appreciate you love ❤️ and passion to teach us thank you God bless you ..,
Lisa thank you so very much! A question that I have scoured the comments for in this and others of your videos, is how to save the document with fillable fields in a way that a person can fill in the fields, but not be free to move other elements of the document. Perhaps I missed it? In another video you speak of using the "Developer" to lock in place, but that seemed to lock even the fields. I'd appreciate your help. Thanks.
Hello Lisa, I like your video content and explanation. I have a request for you..could you please make a video on how to create an acting application form using word. Thanks in advance.
Thank you for the training. I have merged the cells in a row to permit the user to type in the cell. I need the user to be able to add as much info in the cell as needed and for the cell to continue to move down to accomadate the text. When I type in the cell, all the other cells on the form move also. How do I stop this. Thanks
This is great. Is there any way that the data from the fillable can be transferred to a database? I'm using it as an athlete sign in sheet and would like to not have to save or print each individual form.
Lisa thanks for this, your explanation was so easy to follow, is it possible to adjust the size of two cell in excel without using the merge cell option? just the way u highlighted two cells in word and adjusted the width by dragging the center border without affecting the center border of the next row.
Thanks for the video. I only have two questions. What format do you save it in to be editable? And will your customers be able to put a check in the boxes?
Omg!! You are amazing. I have a quick question. How do you lock a cell from resizing when you type inside it? I can’t figure it out. I want the cell to stay the same size as I type inside it.

Excellent tutorial! Just one question (for now, lol), how do you make the boxes you created to be check boxes? Or does Word know what it is?
Word is not a tool I would pick for making forms (or much of anything else), but sometimes I have to work with what the customer has. Thanks. Looks like I need to figure out the Developer tab to restrict editing labels.
If you figure out how to protect the document from editing while still making it fillable, please share ! cnf1219@GMAIL.COM What version are you using in Word as well.
Nice video. Couple questions. Which do you prefer for custom formatting, tables or text boxes? Also, for the checkboxes in the form, how do you limit what types of values to display there, e.g. Checkmark symbol or blank only??
Thanks for the comment. I prefer tables as they're versatile but keep things aligned and organised. This video should help with the second question:- ruclips.net/video/u9ma5emXKK4/видео.html

Why not use the 'Developer' tab with the form options and then insert drop down menus into your form.

Is there a video on how to use the Developer Tab to do this? Any recommendations?
