Within all my tutorials I aim to help you develop your skills working within Word, Excel and Powerpoint as well as further your knowledge about the tools which are available within the Microsoft Office Software.
Throughout this channel I aim to cover simple subjects such as page numbers, margins, headers and footers, image, pictures and fonts as well as more advanced themes such as tables, mail merge, table of contents and electronic signatures.
Sharing tips and tricks which I discover along my journey is also an important aspect of this channel. I love the idea of giving people the solution to a problem they’ve been struggling with in Microsoft Word, Excel or Powerpoint.
The channel began all because of a problem I had when I had to insert images into a Word Document. I couldn’t find a way to drag and drop multiple images into a table without them expanding across the page, being cropped or interfering with the rest of the text. It wasn’t until I finally sat down one day, determined to find the solution and developed a way to solve the problem. Having found the problem quite difficult to solve without knowing how to do it I decided to make a You Tube video about it. Never once believing that many people would watch it, let alone be so grateful.
After discovering how helpful a simple tutorial could be I decided to make further videos with the aim of once again helping as many people as possible.

Great video. Well organized. You showed us the final form of what you were trying to do for each task that you would be teaching and them showed them each separately explaining what you were doing and why as you were training each one.

A question that I have scoured the comments for in this and others of your videos, is how to save the document with fillable fields in a way that a person can fill in the fields, but not be free to move other elements of the document. Perhaps I missed it? In another video you speak of using the "Developer" to lock in place, but that seemed to lock even the fields. I'd appreciate your help. Thanks.

Clear and concise. Brilliant! Much learned in a short time.
However, this appeared in my search for fillable forms that can be locked so the user (in my case online students) cannot undo any of the original format. I found Developer, which seems to fit that bill, but had big problems with most of the basic settings. Anything on that in your nice, clear style would be MUCH appreciated.

Hi Nic. I am searching around to learn how to create forms and the above link uses developer and shows how to lock. Maybe your answer. Video is short, sweet and to the point.
Nic, if you are talking about restricting editing of a document, go to Review, Protect, Restrict Editing. You should be able to walk yourself through the rest of the way. Hope that works for you!

Hello! Thanks for the video. Just a question, how can I convert the doc to PDF and still be fillable? The only way I saw in other videos was to use adobe acrobat (prepare forms) but this specific tool is paid. Is other way to do that for free? PS: I have a macbook

Very helpful - Thank you! I am having trouble though. Upon sending the document in email (sent it to myself as a test), when I attempt to place an "x" in a checkbox I cannot do it. I cannot place the cursor inside the checkbox object in order to type the x to mark that box. Any thoughts as to why or what I am doing incorrectly?
you would have to go to ->File(top left), -> Options(one up from exit), -> Customize Ribbon (left side), -> "Developer"(right side colom), -> click "OK", -> Click Developer option(top of page, on ribbon, beside"view"), -> click "Legacy" tool. (looks like a yellow tool box with hammer and a wrench). -> drop down menu comes up, go down to "ActiveX controls" -> Click the "check box". bam! done. to edit the name, ->right click the box-> check box object -> Edit -> type the name you would like.

For example a job Completion report.
I would love to make one. But it would need to be able to allow me to attach images in certain areas like before section and the after section. Once completed i would need to make sure it loads properly and mobile compatible so I can load it using my mobile on Microsoft or Adobe

Can you help me with this issue I've encountered with creating bulleted lists in Microsoft Word documents, particularly in unprotected areas. It seems that requires a paragraph marker at the end to initiate a bullet point, resulting in the inability to start a list in the first line.
Even after inserting two paragraphs, the first bullet point is automatically deleted, making it appear as if the feature is malfunctioning. when attempting to manually create a bulleted list by starting with a hyphen and a space, users may find that it fails until random text is inputted first. This behavior persists irrespective of whether content controls are used or not.

I'm in the UK started my own business. I have essentially expanded to a point the manual way i have been form filling has become a nightmare.
I can't afford to pay a company like quick books or jotform or even jobber which is like a online cloud where you can create forms and fill them in emailing them to my clients.
I could actually make my own like you have demonstrated but struggle 😪.

For this form yes as it's designed more for printing although you can fill it in electronically. If you want to protect it you will need this video

What happens when you have to complete the form, can one check inside the created boxes?

I have a 50 page Estate Planning Questionnaire I am trying to create. They need to be able to duplicate some sections (number of children or spouses, etc) and delete what doesn't apply. It also needs to be useable by MAC or PC users. I have tried Developer blocks and tables and both MAC and PC users are having difficulty opening, filling and printing the documents. Any suggestions?

Hi Lisa, I'm sorry to bother you with a form that you posted in May. However, whenever I open my finished document, it is as if I'm creating it raw. Let me try and explaining myself better. The lines that I have taken out are taken out in the printable form, but are still faintly visible in the original. therefore if I was to send this to someone to fill in they could move around the box with the number of children etc. Or could add in commentary. Perhaps I missed a stage somewhere along the way? I'm using MS Pro plus 2019.

You may have to uncheck 'show gridlines' in the view tab.
@@LisaDoe Hi Lisa, I had already tried that. Now at the risk of coming across as a smart alec. Here is what I found:
To erase table lines in Word, click the “Layout” tab of the “Table Tools” contextual tab in the Ribbon. Then click the “Eraser” button in the “Draw” button group. Your mouse pointer then turns into an eraser. Then click and drag the mouse over the line to erase.
That being said it is more trouble than it's worth.

@@LisaDoe thank you for response, I have no idea but my word sheet is different than yours so When i tried just to make a group object, i can't quite master the Control command ,down. and being able to group them together, sometimes i am able sometimes not. I guess when you are a true beginner, issue occurs. Thanks though
I’m using a MacBook and I’m only having one small problem when I go to add the second table under the name and I try to stretch the columns it’s interfering with the other table and adjusting that length as well does anyone know how to fix??
Make sure there is a clear break/space between the two tables and they're not linked by any invisible borders.
Ensure you insert a table from the table icon and don't copy and paste. Hope this helps :))
