  • In this video, we finally get to the John Deere 4010 replacing the traction and PTO clutches. First off we move it over to the concrete. Then it sits for three months before we get to it again. First things first as we take off all the hood, cowl, and side panels. Pull the tractor out and power wash it. Then back into the shed where we start pulling off electrical & starter. Also start cracking open all lines. Then it was to bell housing bolts and then separating the tractor.

I just bought a 60s (unsure exact year) 3010 gas. It’s a good runner but needs work. Among other things, PTO lever has resistance you’d expect but won’t engage. Shaft spins freely by hand but lever doesn’t do a thing. Where did you find that book and any tips on what to look at before splitting it apart? Many thanks!

      With Deere it’s a special clamp-on type.
