This is the year to let some prospects simmer in Laval rather than early call ups to Montreal. What they learn about winning will carry over to Montreal next year. 😊
Bring them up as a group ,getting used to winning together and as you said bring that winning attitude to the show, great goup we have coming , love it !
The potential additions to Laval at season’s end reminds me of the Allen Cup teams from days of yore - they winning team could add 3 players from the losing team when they moved on to the next round. Almost an allstar team by the time they got to the final round.
Grant, I just noticed that the last goal shown in the Adam Engstrom highlights--26:47--is by Beck, not Roy, as you suggested. The goalscorer was a right-handed shot and was donning a number 62 jersey. Love your show, guys. Grant, please call your friend Kent and mention that it might be a good idea to somehow add Michael Misa to the Habs organization.
Hi Grant, please explain why Laine will make a difference when he returns. Caufield needed approximately 50 games (?) last season after returning from shoulder surgery and looking at Dach's performance he will easily require as many given he missed all of last season. IMO since Laine only played 18 games last season he will also need time to find his game so why do you think otherwise?
I hope you're right on David Reinbacher, but it will be quite the same as Dach upon his return, I'm afraid. David's injury did not seem as extreme as the compound/double injury thing Kirby had to suffer through but still, takes a long long time to regain full confidence and play at one's very best level. I can see him be able to play, but to be competitive enough... I think unfortunately we'll only see that next season with him.
Totally agree...as for Dach, it will likely take Reinbacher quite some time to fully overcome his knee surgery. The problem with serious knee injuries, the players can't practice hard at all on skates for quite some time nor work on their game shape !!!
Dach should be bottom 6 right now, play against bottom 6 and work his way back up. It's not a knock on Dach, it's just what he needs. Get back in the groove rather than try to force it at the top.
According to my computer "AI" Habs chances of making the playoffs are about 2 wins every three games played....."To determine the required winning percentage for the Montreal Canadiens to qualify for the playoffs, let's break it down: Current Points: 16 points in 19 games. Remaining Games: Assuming an 82-game season, they have 63 games left (82 - 19 = 63). Total Possible Points: 98 points (16 current + 82 remaining = 98). Required Points for Playoffs: Typically, around 95-100 points are needed to secure a playoff spot, but this can vary. To reach 100 points: They need 84 more points (100 - 16 = 84). Winning percentage = (84 / 63) ≈ 1.33 or 133% This means they need to win approximately 67% of their remaining games (84 wins out of 126 total games). It's a tall order, but not impossible! Do you think they can pull off such a strong finish?"
Mtl did the same thing with Dadonov, bottom 6 until he went Dallas where he was on the 1st line. Management not the coach make those decisions, why build around a guy who wants out. Criticism begins at home.
Totally agree...but are the fans/ media patient enough to get another tough season year year??? One thing is sure, you need a lot of luck at the draft table to become a serious cup contender... unless you are the Vegas Knights or a no state tax franchise !!!
It's funny, Demidov's coach restricts his minutes because he won't sign, like trying to manipulate his future and punish him is any sort of incentive. Likely a negative psychologically on his team mates too, seeing what douchebags they're playing under. They probably wonder what extremes the organization will go to if they don't get their way. ...and then they say he'd be in bad company in Montreal/bad for his development. If you think you can't wait for him to get here think how he must feel.
Demidov’s coach part owner of his team , the arena they play in and also part owner of the KHL . Long story short , the guy is a russian gangster with close ties to the Putin regime . Gives you perspective on why they do business like they do in that league .
When an NHL team drafts a russian prospect, that NHL team has to expect what it is happening to Demidov, basicall not having any control at all on his development while he remains in Russia. This is why Demidov was still available at 5th...because of the russian factor !!!

A question is 2025, going to be a
Deep draft?

So you put him on the bottom six and cut his ice time by five or six minutes a game. How does that help his rehabilitation?

Damn grant savage!
I’d like to see in Montreal:
3rd line
Tuch F.Xhekaj Pezzetta.
4th line
Arsenault Beck Gallagher
Or vice versa, or mix and match the 6.
hey guys you should mention who the ahl teams are affiliated with for those who dont know that league !
May I introduce you you to google?
@Thrawn. I don't need it for the teams ! But others might irs all in being informative and not a knockdown !
Laval is much heavier this year.
