The NHL will prefer Celebrini not that he isn't a good player but when was the last time we saw an undersized dman do what Hutson does nightly. What a pick by the Habs, this kid is going to light it up for years if he stays healthy.
Celebrini being a first overall center, 18 yrs old (2 yrs younger than Hutson) and so far having 23 pts including 11 goals in 24 games, he is surely the front runner for the Calder. I really like what Mike GRIER has been doing in San Jose since he took over the GM job in july 2022. He has already drafted his two top lines centers of the futur (Celebrini/Smith) plus likely a #1 defenseman (Sam Dickinson) in only 2 drafts...Furthermore, they might end up as well with 2 more very high end picks the next 2 years (Schaefer/McKenna) ...ayoye !!!
Michkov in his last 5 games: 0-0-0 -8. He's cooled off. I imagine he'll pick it up again unless Torts destroys him 😅 but I doubt that. If Hutson stays on 1st PP he can fly away with it. Celebrini is impressive though. Kid is the complete package. If I had to bet I'd say he wins in the end.
Caufield barely had any assists before and now as Laine dominates on the PP half the time it's Caufield feeding him. Funny how a guy who absolutely knows how to score goals seems to be the best guy at feeding a guy who knows hot to score goals, from his spot. Pretty sure Celebrini is going to win Calder but if he were to get injured then it would be interesting because I think Michkov vs Hutson is a more for match up. Celebrini is simply the better player of the 3 in pretty much every way.
I don't necessarily think they'll keep Evans but if they extend him I wouldn't mind. Seems like he'd be a great bottom 6 player even when we're competitive. With the cap going up teams will soon be able to afford luxury bottom six players here and there.
Hutson is 4th at best after the Ruskie, kid in San Jose and Wolfe, Calgary goalie, the hardest position for a rookie. Try watchin other teams then the TANKIN HABS😅
Bottom line? Nah man he looks perfect for a 3rd line. Physical, heavy, great shot, great forecheck, sound defensively. You can’t limit that impact to 9-10 minutes on the 4th line. He needs a good 14 on the 3rd. We need a couple more guys like him.
Heinemen is playing good hockey and he is getting rewarded. However, lets not get too excited, he will likely cool back down. He is no top6 player, keep using him the same way while it is still working well for him!!!
@@ashleyjardine5199 Hutson has played 33 games and Celebrini only 24. Overall Celebrini is the best of the three. Elite at ES both offensively and defensively.

Great show guys! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Boys!
Kudos Grant good call on Laine, the Habs should consider giving you a job. Lol Great show guys keep em coming!!!
Ken Dryden was the last Habs to win the Calder in 72.

I'm old enough to remember when people said Cutter Gauthier would win the Calder ...

Lol teammates in ncaa, Celerbini took the hobey baker, now its hutsons time to take the calder from him
@ that's right!
Great Show boys ! Happy Holidays!
im going with Celebrini for the Calder and im a Habs fan !
Did Dryden not win the Conn Smythe, then the Calder the following year?
Yes

1:03:10 oof all on Nikishin there, what an amazing play. Damn Canes.
I think he might have a good chance at the calder too
Laine, evans , heineman. Would be a nice 2nd line (right now)

Joshua Roy had 3g-2a in one game If I remember well
Last Calder winner is Ken Dryden. I thought it was Kjell Dahlin, but nope.
Bobby Rousseau won the Calder in '62.
Dryden I think
How much goals per 60 minutes Laine has 😉
Only if on power play😅
My prediction for the Calder is David "long uncomfortable pause"
Reinbacher. "I planned it that way."
Hopefully, Reinbacher knee problems of the last 2 seasons are over.
Lmao Grant's still taking the mick out of Rotenberg for his master's comment.
It’s gonna be Celebrini, Michkov, Hutson in that order
Ken Dryden no?
the scary thing is these are your nhl refs in few years.
Ken Dryden

Micheal Ryder deserved to win the Calder…
Heineman is not a top 6 forward. He plays a good bottom line role. Not too many minutes.

Sick,sick,sick
If Hutson wins the Calder over Celebrini, there will have to be an investigation.
Why? Hutson has more points as a d man
Lmao

Is it safe to say that Rotenberg is a rotten coach? :)
Anyone who says michkov should win doesn't watch hockey. Not inly is he not the best rookie forward hes not even close to the best rookie.
Hutson is not winning the calder. Either Michkov or Celebrini will.
If Hutson stays with them in points, even if he finishes with 10-15 less points he should win it. Defenseman produce less points just by default.
I do have a feeling this comment will look bad in July…
