    Thompson’s form kinda reminds me of Joseph Fahnbulleh where he bounds across the track. It’s weird cause it doesn’t seem like it should work, but it just does, and it’s scary how fast he’s becoming. Can’t wait to keep seeing him improve!

      @zacharycarroll8063 15 дней назад +3

      That heavy lean and sitting through the hips allows him to have an insanely high stride rate. It’s weird to me because while it is successful for some, he’s nearly the exact weight and height of bolt and yet this technique is mainly used for shorter runners like Coleman. But hey, he’s found some way to make it work to become the 9th fastest all time and with that, his start is basically better than bolt’s on most occasions, so who would I or anyone else be to say that he should try to run a different way

He popped out of those blocks like a charging lion and thats supposed to be his weakness, then coasted in at 9.91 in head wind against a top end long sprinter like Tebogo - who could steal the show in the 200….bro is the real deal!

    Another underrated performance from this meet in Hungary was De Grasse’s 19.98. In 2021 prior to the Olympics, the fastest De Grasse had run was 19.97 (with slightly better wind) at the exact same meet. His 100m SB right now is also almost identical as his pre-Olympic 2021 time, only 0.01 slower. Many people have been writing off De Grasse this year, but he’s shown himself to be in essentially identical form as in 2021 when he won gold in the 200m, bronze in the 100m, and silver in the 4x100m.

    The way the dude is built he kinda HAS to have a lot of muscle to move his frame that quickly. Bolt wasn't exactly a rain thin guy either though his leg and arm length sometimes made it look that way. But Thompsons built with a broad chest that causes massive wind resistance. He's got to be able to power through it. In fact that may well be his most limiting factor, his chest is always going to be wide as hell and causing him to slow down, then you add in the extra muscle he needed to gain to attempt to offset it and in doing so adding even more wind resistance but spread out more evenly. He's clearly not running full bore for all these races lately, so he's definitely got sub 9.7 speed in that frame. Honestly he's probably got the best chance, of the current crop of world famous names anyway, to get closest to Bolt. 9.58 is crazy fast, but this guy IS extraordinary. He may be able to challenge it within the next 6-8 years. He still hasn't even gotten his adult muscles fully in and beat into shape yet. Most runners get faster and faster up until their late 20's, some into their mid 30's. What age can do for muscle conditioning is something that nothing but time can create for you. Which is why I've no doubt Erriyon Knighton will be absolutely unstoppable in the 200m within a few short years. He will likely smash right past Noah's times and challenge Bolts. Never underestimate the aging process when it comes to a young adult becoming a fully developed adult.

    Kishane's sub 9.7, will be required to dominate Paris men's 100m final. Wonder what his force exertion is like, he pounds the ground really hard, and his stride length would be interesting to know. Asafa I think had a 8' 8" and Bolt 9' 10". With a Coleman like start no one will catch him after 60M, he will crush the last 40M. I have confidence his coach will guide him through the Olympic rounds.
    I don't see any threat from Noah Lyles, the 100m and 200m rounds will take its toll, he might squeeze out a high 9.7's at best as Kishane will drag him to a new personal best.

    I think it's logical to be a little curious about what Mr. Thompson has been doing the last couple of years. For a guy to be so inactive because of injuries and still be able to gain such a remarkable amount of lean muscle mass in such a short period of time is questionable. He doesnt even look like a track athlete, he looks more like a powerlifter. The dudes thighs are bigger than a lot of other guys whole body.

      Well if u are not running as much and doing much cardio u can our ok muscle . He still looks lean and under 200lbs like a typical nfl wide receiver. I ran track and played b-ball with a very high metabolism. Once I reduced the cardio intensive activities I put on serious Muscle also

      @francisikwueme1688 You think he's under 200 lbs? I have a hard time believing that. He's several inches taller than the majority of track athletes I've seen him next to and his legs are bigger than a lot of guys whole body. Take a look at his thigh muscles and tell me he's under 200 lbs. I saw him next to Tobago and his legs looked bigger than Tobagos waist.

    Well to answer that question I have to say Noah Lyles is the favorite for me. Here's why Noah is the defending champion in the 100 meters, he is the most confident I've ever seen any sprinter with the exception of Bolt and in and I guarantee nobody wants it as bad as Noah. The last three years he has performed best on the biggest stages. So with that being said.. I think Noah will win and break his personal best in 9.8 seconds.

    I just want somebody, anybody to make Noah Lyles go away, they guy is so obnoxious 🤢🤢 His antics sets a bad example for the kids. There are TEN active sprinters that have run faster than he has, yet he acts so arrogantly.

    On form it's Noah but who knows what can happen during the rounds and especially if the weather in Paris isn't great too.
    Perfect conditions over the 2 days and I would say a run of under 9.75 will be needed should all the big names make the final.
    It could be something very special, as with other finals too, as the talent out there at the moment is really high 🏃‍♂
