Hi CarSpy, my mechanic did some maintenance that involved battery disconnection, knocking the radio code off (no radio that is). After multiple attempts its now stuck on '4 TRIES' on the display as well as a 30 minute lock out period. Seems like it's permanently stuck in this loop. The 1 and 6 button combination won't even work.

Don't get it. What do you do after you have the serial number? is that the code that needs to be entered?
The stereo's serial number can be used to generate the unlock code. You then enter the unlock code into the stereo.
I know someone whose had this exact problem.

To remove the radio in my hilux ute the whole dash board has to be removed that is one of my list of projects on it l suppose its the ultimate anti theft device the radio cassette player is bean replaced with a radio cd player l have it a freebee my son gave me its a kenwood pandora worth $195aud

Yes. I understand. My answer was serious, too. To unlock the stereo, you only need the unlock code. However, if you've lost the unlock code it can be retrieved via the serial number. The unlock code and serial number are different things.

you need some software mate to enter the serial number to get the code
