Great video!Their crew are indeed very nice! Actually HX has a newer a330 cabin with a 1-2-1 config! They suspended their IFE few years ago because of their financial problem. They are now recovering and hope you will try their economy class soon!

This A330-300 aircraft was with Singapore Airlines before, so the business class product was actually from SQ. HX did not retrofit it when SQ transferred to them

And I tried cx business class and had a terrible experience with a 2-3-2 configuration and ordered food that didn’t come and the flight attendants are very lazy even compared to HX!
Greetings my friend! WOW! That sky bridge is amazing as I have never been there to see it. How cool that you have a Pan Am bag. We use to dead head the crews often, they were a great legacy carrier. Yes sir, that A/C was very dated and seemed dirty. But I am glad the crew were professional for you, that makes a huge difference. Enjoy your travels , fly safe and God Bless ! ………. ->- Brian
Unfortunately I never got to fly on Pan Am (the bag was a gift from a friend), but I remember seeing the white and blue aircraft when I was a kid. They’re indeed a legend of a carrier.
HKG truly is a great airport and the Skybridge a must see there! 👍👍 But how disappointing to see that outdated cabin on the HX A330 you travelled in. The seats really look outworn but what made it worse was the dirtyness everywhere around, something that I would have definetely complained about immediately! 😖 No welcome drink... Inop Entertainment screens... No menu.... Food presentation... 😖 How do they survive with competitors such as CX and TG? Thanks for this very informative trip report and always happy landings! Hallo Simone, thank you for the kind words. I’m glad I didn’t have high expectations before flying HX;-) But this was another example of how a nice cabin crew can compensate for the hard product flaws. Overall still a flight that is challenging to find positive words for unfortunately.
Great video! The cabin looks very tired and old, HK airlines is not a premium brand what I saw on the video but something between low cost and premium brand.
I enjoyed the visit to the skybridge, that makes Hong Kong a must visit airport! The condition of your aircraft was really bad. When airlines defer maintenance, it makes me very nervous. I would be wondering what items they aren't fixing that may be safety related. Overall, I would pass on flying them until they paid better attention to maintenance and to the other little details that were lacking.
Thanks for your comment. I was quite surprised to see such a cabin, the fare I paid wasn‘t even that cheap. I hope they’ll improve or install the newer cabin which they already have on their A350‘s.
hong kong airline is one of the worst airline in hk. i have had some very unpleasant experience, old planes, bad service support overseas, one to avoid.
@@forgotmypassport all of their a350s had retired due to their financial problem and seems they won't come back😞but they are getting few 2nd hand a321 from Vietnam and 330s from Hainan airlines next few month.

Great video, the skybridge really reminds me of the new renovations at my home domestic airport of LGA.
I haven’t traveled through LGA in a decade. Maybe I should check it out again :)

The angle of the camera (down) through the glass is amazing. Who ever thought you could see an aircraft taxi under you!

Thanks a lot. But I hope they are not using this aircraft for longhaul with all these cabin defects.
I can say you were paying a little bit extra vs CX economy for the extra space only. The service is no way comparable to a standard business class.
I tried their business class and their service was even better than cathay

I used to fly on their a350 back there, was nice. However, from your vid, I would not pay to fly them as well as you said.
I saw on other flight reports that their A350 has a nicer Business Class, even in a 1-2-1 layout. Probably I‘d fly HX again if I knew it was the A350.

Based on your vid, it is NOT an airline I would choose to fly. It looks awful.
And the ticket wasn’t even that cheap. Hopefully they’ll install (and maintain) their new cabin on the A330, which they already have on their A350.
