They seemed to have reasonable service despite being a low cost airline. But poor 6'4" enduring the lack of legroom. I'm glad the other seat was vacant at least so you could spread out. Thanks Mike! :) They just partnered up with a local HK bank in offering fixed priced airfare. Tokyo is like HKD1600 return (USD220) plus tax when Cathay/JAL/ANA charge $5000 🤣 My mum has a card with that bank so I might consider booking them again when oneworld is too expensive haha

Missed you guys with a week. Staid 5 m walking from Myeong Dong / LOTTE . Airbnb for 90€. Myeong Dong has some great bars upstairs for old timers like me 😊 The airport express bus is very cheap as well. To term 1 + 2.

I heard that apparently on GBA now following the turbulence incident on Singapore Airlines all passengers have to remain seated with their seat belts fastened throughout the whole flight and no moving around even mid-flight

I said so because this airline is very ‘Chinese’, and the investors/founders are pro-Chinese. You have politicians who complain Cathay not doing enough Mandarin announcements, so I thought they would do mandarin PA on GBA, like HK Airlines :)

GBA suspended its HKG-SIN route just 1 month after launch. Their fares were uncompetitive compared to legacy carriers like Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines.
GBA is not popular among business travellers (and frequent flyers) so it probably won’t survive on routes like HK-Shanghai or Beijing. They need to capture the local leisure market first. Haikou is a good start for mainland China

Those who go to Shanghai and Beijing are likely business travellers and politicians. You have tourists who go there but the market is already very saturated by airlines like Hong Kong Airlines and Juneyao who sometimes offer lower fares than LCC

HK-Shanghai & HK-Beijing i think is quite similar to London-New York flights which most of the airlines served are full service and medium one like AA, BA, UA, DL, etc because these cities are considered as the largest financial hub in the world.

Korea is my least favourite asian destination. Because it just feels like any american city but with koreans in it. It doesn't have the culture feel of japan, china, vietnam, thailand. It is quite boring.
