But honestly, I wasn't entirely sure on a few FE4 vs FE5 songs. The rest were a cakewalk, but for those I had to think a bit.

@@Mekkkah Is this where I type the ACKTUALLY or RAGE comment? Alright, ACKTUALLY you mix Eternal bond with Bearer of Hope (However you got that Bearer of Hope was the defense Map.) Just think Elincia with Bearer and Ike with Eternal bond, mainly because they use it mainly for the Greil Merc maps and a theme for Ike in both Heroes and Smash.

Why fire emblem music is good in General
47/49. If you've listened to at least one song from every OST, it's pretty easy to tell what the game is based on soundfont alone. That being said, the two I missed were both New Mystery songs I mistook for Shadow Dragon ones. As an extra challenge, I tried to name every song as well, but found that I only knew where most songs played but not their actual names (for example, the near victory theme for Thracia 776 is called "Leif's Army ~ In Search of the Victory ~ Near of the Victory"). I got 32/49 exact names.
31/49 having played the GBA games only, although FE14 is quite recognizable, I was completely lost when a FE9/10/13 track played tho, and I couldn't make the difference between Fe4 and 5 and 1/3.
Anyway this franchise has some great soundtrack overall wow

Ways to tell the games apart by music:
FE1: Basic but catchy NES chip
FE2: Pushes the NES chip more. Faster and more dramatic.
FE3: SNES chip, also fairly basic (but good).
FE4: Longer loops, does a lot with SNES chip, very wide variety
FE5: Either dark and tense or epic and hopeful. VERY dramatic. SNES trumpets.
FE6: Basic GBA chip, pretty simple. Has something of a warped sound texture, too.
FE7: Beats me I got half of these wrong. It generally has more complexity than FE6 but not as much heaviness as FE8.
FE8: A lot more layering to the GBA sound, often darker mid-sections of songs.
FE9: TRUMPETS! Also flutes and snare drums. Makes you feel like marching to war.
FE10: Full orchestra, LOTS of strings and woodwinds.
FE11: Simple music built into the DS orchestra chip.
FE12: DS flutes lead the orchestra. New elements have the distinctive 1-4#-5-8-7 motif.
FE13: More classical style. Sweeping movements. Not too many melodies unless it involves the main motif of ID or Don't Speak Her Name.
FE14: Japanese or Celtic style music by instrument, particularly japanese flute. Generally very complex.
FE15: Put a whole orchestra on top of a few simple melodies, and make them heavier and more dramatic as time goes on. New music is often more complex, and almost anything focused around Berkut & Rinea is a 3/4 dance.
FE16: Very large or open feel, with a touch of modern dubstep for good measure.
I....actually did alright with 1 point difference.
48/49, because I missed the unit death music for FE9 by choosing FE10. Don't wanna remember that anyway.

I personally got 100% ive listened to the soundtracks over and over again a lot in my life. Was pretty tight between the fe4 and fe5 as sone tracks feel pretty similar but other than that I didn’t really have many problems. Hope you all did good 👍

43/49. Got half of the FE11/12 tracks mixed up because well, they share a bunch of maps, have the same soundfont, and it's hard to remember which belongs to which.
All the Fates answers were super easy because they used Japanese instruments though. They probably could've thrown some more Conquest tracks to stop blaring Hoshidan vibes at people.

Played before watching the video, got 41/49. Dang I thought I knew these better. The big stumbling points I had were FE7 (I kept thinking they were FE8 songs) and then confusing FE11 with FE12. And then there were like 2 awakening songs I thought were from SoV before I realized this quiz was made before SoV came out >.
41/49, most of the misses were from the GBA ones since I haven't played all of them yet and I tend to get 6, 7, 8 sound tracks mixed up very easily
I like how most of the music used weren't recurring battle themes (some of them were and they were pretty easy to answer), a notable one for me was the FE4 conversation theme at 6:15 which literally gave me flashbacks of some of the lover convos in generation 1 chapter 5 where it still hits me in the feels even now.
Yeah. Motifs can really help you out here. Elibe and Magvel have different themes and FE6 doesn't sound quite as full. lol
46/49. DSFE, GBAFE and FE5 I know well. Anything FE5-sounding that I didn't recognize was FE4, anything modern-sounding with bagpipes was Fates, and anything modern-sounding without bagpipes was Awakening.
The one that really threw me off was Tellius. I never played RD, and PoR I dropped because I got bored. With their identical styles and instruments, I couldn't tell them apart. Good thing a few of PoR's songs were from the earlygame (also Ascent, which I knew from The Last Promise), otherwise I would've made a lot more mistakes.
I got 46/49 94% correct. I haven't played Awakening, Fates, Shadow Dragon, New Mystery and Gaiden and only partially played FE5 but I'm aware of music style of the various FE games.

I had a lot of uncertainty between FE4/5, FE9/10 and FE11/12. Didn't help that I was on the wrong timestamp like 5 times because I kept forgetting to hit Next...
I got 22 correct which is 45%. I basically knew all from FE2, 7, 10 (well, almost), 13 and 14. Otherwise I was just guessing.
I got 41/49.
Those NES and FE1/3 for the SNES threw me off...
And pretty sure I only got the Thracia ones right by watching you and Mangs.
45/49. I made two very dumb mistakes (called Holy War as being from FE1/11 even though I know it's iconic to FE3/12; and called the FE5 player attack theme as coming from FE4. How shameful) and two unavoidable errors (completely did not recognize one of the FE10 tracks - in hindsight, I think it's one of the laguz royals' themes? - and I haven't actually played FE3 or 12 on my own, so one of those tracks also completely sidelined me). Not bad!
Now to watch Mekkah's attempt.
40/49... The main ones that screwed me up were Shadow Dragon VS New Mystery (haven't played either for more than like 5 chapters) and Path of Radiance VS Radiant Dawn.
6:14 isn't the sad song, it usually plays when someone gets their Holy Weapon (Sigurd gets Tyrfing, Lewyn gets Forseti, etc).

10:55 Are you serious? You thought that was from Awakening? Awakening's death theme doesn't come close to this.
11:58 Disappointed it has that boss theme and not 'Softly with Grace' (one of my favorites)

I have played it before watching this video, and I have gotten 45/49(92%). Most of my mistakes come from mixing up FE1/3 tracks and FE9/10 tracks. Whlie all games have a destinct musical style to them, some have quite the resemblance to one another. Oh well.

Your 1st miss was actually an incorrect answer. You prolly already know by now, but it was an FE6 enemy phase, not FE9 music.
this quiz is harder than i thought... i keep confusing songs from the same continent but different games, only ended up getting 30
Page failed and reloaded halfway through, but I was doing poorly. I got FE9 and 10’s tracks mixed up and stumbled a lot with Archanaea. Oh, FE14’s was real easy since it sound very distinct from the rest of the series. My favorite part of the quiz Wes worrying over the next track, only to go: “Oh, this is just Comrades. Yes! I know that one.”
31/49. I'm happy with that since I was guessing for a lot of them just based off soundfonts. I got every single FE7 one right, and most of the 3DS ones. FE7 I know pretty well, but I was surprised how much of Awakening's soundtrack I could recognize. I never found the OST that memorable, but the instruments clued me in to distinguish it from Fates. Fates has...a LOT of wind instruments it seems.
ughhhhh 37/49 I don't know FE2, 4, or 5's music and it killed me. also hint if there are stereotypical *asian* sounding wind instruments then it's FE14. It's surprising how much I knew just from the tone of it, like I haven't played FE12 but I know how FE11 sounds and they sounded a bit nicer which gave it away.
48/49, I got the Caineghis one wrong...I also never used him and that explains why I don't recognize his theme...
Got three wrong, and it's entirely because I've only played a small amount of FE4 and FE5 so far. They were each ones I had barely ever heard, and FE4 and 5 being both SNES games results in them sounding somewhat similar instrumentally as well. Still, that's 94% right, so I can't complain.
I also skipped one song initially because I couldn't pinpoint it, despite knowing which one it is, because the section played didnt have the song's leitmotif and doesn't play a whole lot to begin with in FE10. It was Caineghis's battle theme. Was surprised you got that one so fast, Mekkah, despite misremembering which of the two Tellius games it belonged to.
Personally, I've always had a knack for memorizing video game music... probably because I've always enjoyed humming or whistling along with them (assuming it was something you could reasonably hum to, not everything works). Been that way since I was a kid.
Got 1 wrong because I mixed up the FE3/FE12 beginning map theme with the FE1/3/11 version. It's usually pretty easy to tell the game based on the sound font alone.
41 correct, not bad. Haven't played FE1, 2, 5, or the DS remakes. Also am working on 4.
I got 38 out of 49. Pretty decent for someone who hasn't even played half the games in the series. Either a track was from the GBA games or Awakening and up and I knew exactly where it's from, or I had to blindly guess. Especially Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn were some sneaky fuckers.
actually managed to get it fully correct. Did end up kinda metagaming it at the end by using process of elimination with ones I wasn't sure about
EDIT: now watching the video, obvious GBA soundfont, mekkah goes FE9 and then blames it on a misclick. My guy.
I think the wrong answers are messed up because there's multiple of each game.
Some Tearring Saga tracks should have been included just to fuck with people.
Had to do this myself before watching. 49/49. The FE9 game over music was the closest to getting me.
Most games in the series really have such distinctive sounds to them. Especially the GBA entries surprised me with how easy i found them to tell apart.

I didn't recognize the fe10 one from around 11 mins but still got it right because it sounded like Tellius, and I got Ninian's theme wrong for some reason, but I got the rest pretty easily! I haven't played fe3/12 so anything that I didn't recognize at all I just answered that

42/49. A couple of them I really shouldn't have missed but I fucked up. Also my Arkaenia saga is a bit weak. >.> Most you can place the era or continent at least but then sorting among those can be a bit tricky.

Not immediatly recognizing shaman in the dark (Idunns Theme).
My dissapointment is immesurable, and my day is ruined.
My results: 47/49 and i barely played more than 5 games of this franchise, i'm just a professional lurker when it comes to video game soundtracks.
My thoughts are:
the 2 that i got wrong were from Fe9(7:39 - 7:56 and 11:20 - 11:36), i had a hard time deciding between the tellius series songs, every music have that one aspect of them that you can tell apart from the others, like i never played Fe8, but i believe a soundfont of a guitar i think, is only present on fe8 songs so i can tell them apart, so me not beeing familiar with what ever is the aspect that separete fe9 songs than fe10 gave me problems.
Awakening i got confused in some of them but a little bit of the main leit motif gave it away tho and fates japanese instrumentation have no competition on the time to decide it, also 8 bit chip tune i very easy to pick apart Fe1 and Fe2 so that was pretty easy , Fe4 vs Fe5 would have beeing problematic if i had played Fe5 as much as i did 4.
overall i'm satisfied by the result.
I got 35, not bad considering I haven't played most of the games yet, playing Heroes has given me an ear for the styles each game has, got every Gba, Awakening, and Fates track right.

I'll be extremely basic and say Eternal Bond is probably my favourite FE track ever ;)
GBA games have some good tracks as well but I feel they are extremely held back by the terrible GBA sound chip, even SNES sounds better. I'd love to hear a faithful remaster of the original music someday.
Other than that this series has A TON of good tracks, like, too many to even try and list, but they are mostly just 'good' and never really 'amazing'. Eternal Bond and Don't Speak Her name are about the only tracks that I'd consider head and shoulders above the rest. Fire Emblem is definitely no Final Fantasy, but it's fine since, like I said the average level of quality is very good throughout the series.
DarkSol Eternal Bond has amazing orchestral arrangement. It fits so well with what Greil Mercenary does in FE10 which is an extremely grand battle.

I missed 5/49, the arena theme for FE3 (I think), multiple ones where I couldn’t tell between FE11 and FE12, and one that I thought was FE8 but was FE7. Tellius ones were easy for me though.

1. Some FE6 theme idk the name
2. Mastermind from Awakening (plays during Walhart battle)
3. FE9 Death theme
4. FE10 Caineghis theme (I *think* it’s the battle one for him)
5. Some FE3 theme
