Why does one of Australian motorsports most famous racing cars have an interior that looks like a regular family vehicle, has large holes in the boot lid, and the number ‘05’ emblazoned on its side?
National Motor Racing Museum coordinator Brad Owen shows off the VK Holden Commordore that Peter Brock drove to win the Bathurst 1000 motor race in 1984.
Watch the documentary Brock: Over the Top on Tuesday 3rd November, 8.30pm on ABC TV+iview.

Not in Victoria it wasn't. Since the 1970's it has always been .05% as far as I am aware. Before that, I remember blowing in the bag and the crystals turning green, which meant that the car was locked up at the side of the road, and I had to find another way to get home. I was only 300 metres away from home and was allowed to drive the car the next morning after picking up the keys from the local police station. There was no way a copper could tell how high the blood/breath - alcohol percentage was and no conviction was ever recorded. Oh the good old days!!
