The thing about sharing a helicopter is that people not always answer, an option would be for in the map when you click on the incoming helicopter it shows like base -> alpha1 instead of just base then change to alpha1 after getting out
Exactly what I was thinking, if the Heli is inbound then the icon could show the destination of it ie "B2" for Bravo 2 LZ
I could see that being a problem. Imagine calling in a helicopter and everyone can see where it’s going to be headed once it lands and they swarm the helicopter before you can get on it and all of a sudden you don’t have a seat on the helicopter you called in.
Or better yet, everyone call in individual helicopters, but they all go to.the same spot and you wait for 3 mins
I'm not sure if they have to take off from base first but if you click en route helis it tells you the LZ they're otw to

This is the level of communication that I wish ALL devs would do. Nothing worse than going months with hearing what is going on with a product you paid for. Thank you Madfinger!
Yeah, games just have bugs, that's expected. Especially ones from smaller studios.
The difference here is that these devs actually explain that something MAY not be be a bug, but an unintended side effect of players not understanding a mechanic. As for the actual bugs, they aren't afraid to talk about them and let us know that THEY know and ARE working on a solution.
I feel like players would be a lot more understanding if devs were less cold and corporate, and just communicated with their community.
I mean, this IS an early access game, so issues are expected. Some games just treat early access like an excuse for having a ton of bugs, though, and try to suppress issues.

@@brennan2007 Not necessarily a mechanic they don't understand, but one not properly tuned, which they acknowledge. So much better than "they just don't know how to play our game" that some devs feel
probably because this game has had pretty ridiculous bugs going on for several weeks now and with arena breakout beta going on and looking great, they're probably sweating right now

Community manager acknowledging player feedback, communicating for both sides and giving advice (with little bit of humor for initiated) instead of gaslighting the playerbase. Good on you Madfinger, keep it all up, I truly believe you and GZW have bright future ahead.

Just hearing the phrase "We are aware of" for anything the community has had nit pics about is awesome ! Insane potential of a game, take your time polishing it !

yeah ive been frusterated with things in the game but this video helps for sure updates even like this rather than in game updates or response and info updates really help overall

That is the most infuriating thing about this game and makes me want to get a refund. I don't have time to sit there waiting for a helicopter for 5, 10 or 15 minutes
All birds are in the air but half of the time they are empty and doing sweet f all to pick up anyone else.
@@kenshinhimura9387would be better if they scrapped the whole helicopter sequence and replaced it with a fast travel. I don't care for realism when you have to wait 1-2 mins to get to the LZ
I'm so glad the shotgun was acknowledged as an issue. 1st weapon I actually purchased, so imagine my disappointment when I'm sending slug #5 into a shirtless heathen, and he JUST STANDS THERE! UNFAZED!

My first death was when I bought the first shotgun for a meme run and ended up giving an AI 3 slugs to the face while he gunned me down 😂

I set mine up with an ACOG and slugs to headtap some fools in the starter town; after seven headshots and the guy wearing a red bandana was still returning fire; I was not amused; particularly since my squad and I had just initiated a firefight outside the Lumberyard and the proverbial 'nest' had just been stirred.
I had to grab an SKS off the only accessible body, with maybe twenty rounds of ammo on it, the guy pinned down with me ran out of ammo and was down to his also worthless 9mm; and we were just trying to hold them off at a berm until our other squadmate was able to come back and get his corpse without dying a second time.
Wild gunfight, but made me highly annoyed that the 9mm and shotgun with slugs(and later I found out that even buckshot is worthless) were so undertuned from what they should most certainly be; it's like no one properly tested or even played with them; or the devs played too much Destiny in which after 5ft shotguns shoot 'tickle powder'.
Buckshot is very much there to tickle the cracked out pirates
The fact that they actually use in-game footage to highlight the issues in the game right now is awesome.

I love the DDG character arc. I remember being, like 12-16 watching his DayZ mod videos. Now he’s CM for GZW, the game that got me back into gaming!
It also speaks volume the kind of people MFG is bringing on board for this project. They invited Jonathan Ferguson to do firearm consulting. Ex-special forces as advisors and veterans as community manager. They're really focused on the realism and immersion aspect of GZW.

This is the type of communication that will make this company and game go beyond anything ever seen. appreciate your efforts.
main gripe right now is heli travel times and availability which you touched on. An idea would be if you have an LZ unlocked then the heli can come from other corners or edges of the map closest to that LZ. No reason it always has to always come from your home base.
Im part of Lamang and if i need extraction from YBL-1 sometimes the chopper takes 7 minutes to get there and then another 7 minutes back to base. 15 minutes round trip. Also if we call a chopper in and it says 7 minutes we should have the option to cancel chopper with in like 10 secs or so of calling.

I did not find it so.
It is kinda STALKER level AI.
its actually a pretty bad explanation of GZW AI. they just aggro on the player and if you dont take hard cover, they aimbot you through anything. so if you get shot by AI and you run behind a house, you're fine because the bullets dont penetrate the house, but if you run behind a wooden shed, you still sometimes get aimbotted through the shed because its just two wooden walls. Also, The AI in Ban Pa is jokingly easy if you've played the game for 10-15 hours.
In Tiger Bay on the other hand, you can't kill an AI with a suppressed one shot kill to the head from 150 meters away, without at least 6 of his AI friends locking on to you and pushing towards you.
I would say the AI is really stupid most of the time, but if they're locked on to you it's just a matter of how many of them there are
@@TH-kz7mn - I've had them wallbang me INSIDE a house after changing floors and being in the center room. But I shifted like one meter left and just wood chips and lead flying around me then.
I wouldn't call the AI dumb or smart. Inconsistently annoying is more the proper term for them.
@@TH-kz7mn you can shoot them through the soft cover to its not a 1 way (dependes on you ammo but still). it is honestly fairly normal ai coding to shoot at the last known location of there enemy

GZW has server and optimisation issues, but the team is full of good hearted people that care about their audience. You have our full support and frustrations from the community is because they care. God bless you all.

The AI suppression is something that needed to be explained, i see too many people upset about this, and i feel its due to a lack of understanding. Great video! looking forward to the next steps GZW takes!

Was just about to comment this. The "aimbot AI" complaints seem to be coming from people who stand in a single place and expect not be shot back and suppressed.
I do appreciate the AI not being dumb and suppress you, but i have seen instances of them being behind foliage and bushes and able to accurately shoot at you when you cant see them
Uhh.. so when we throw supressive fire and a teammate moves from cover to cover they get bopped with laser like percision.. thats... normal behavior? Some of these bots dont even flinch like scarface coked up lol
I've been a software engineer for almost a decade now as well as filling in product manager roles and I have to say THIS is how to communicate with your users. Them showing what the poor performance looks like instead of hiding it for example is enormous because people pick up on when you're hiding things very easily. I hope this pace continues with updates, I've seen other games start after launch with this type of updates and then within 6 months become silent (most likely due to lack of features and tech debt).
Love the clear communication, this games 100 percent worth Standard edition and if yall keep this up Id love to upgrade to Supporter 💯 Great work

This community briefing is an insanely cool way to keep players in the loop hell yeah, super informative and reassuring to hear about all of the planned fixes too.
DevilDog! I’ve been following you for like 10 years, all the way from marine corps Mondays! Crazy to see you as a CM. That’s awesome man, keep up the good work!
The problem with the AI is that they can hear you walking under or next to them, even through bunker walls.
It also doesn't feel like they are interpreting that you are behind a wall or a bush. They shoot accurately through bushes and walls, even if they haven't seen you before.
The AI can be strong, that's good, but at the moment it feels like you're playing against cheaters with wallhack and aimbot, that's no fun.
The next problem is: what happens after the quests? You get absolutely no rewards for killing enemies.
If I help other players with their quests, it costs me time and I make absolutely zero progress because I get no XP for killing the AI enemies and the loot, especially in the starting areas, is so bad that it barely covers the cost of ammunition.
Then these kill quests: why aren't the kills counted in the group?
It took me 3 days just to get the rebel leader in the bunker. For some quests you wait a long time for the respawn and then another player is still faster and you keep waiting.
This is also unmotivating.
I really like the game, I like the atmosphere and the style of play, but it gets tough after 43 hours.

i like to take seat on a random chopper and loot the area where the other players are.
That's why there is a "sneak" key. I haven't has any problems sneaking up close to enemies when I'm feeling patient enough. And I've been in as many firefights where the enemy misses all around me as I've been one-tapped. That's how a realistic game should work; you aren't always going to get a chance to return fire because sometimes their first round hits you in the perfect spot. As per you're problem with what to do when done with quests, I guess you wait until more than 20% of the game is released? lol it's a early-access title, it should be obvious that it's going to be lacking content.

@@justincredible9302 I address the problems for precisely this reason and write my thoughts on them. Precisely because I like the game, I offer objective criticism of things that I don't like at the moment and I think about what will happen when the current quest pool is exhausted.
I am an evocati and long time supporter of Star Citizen, believe me, I know what it means to test an alpha.
You can't get anywhere just by talking up the current product.
Problems need to be addressed in order to be solved.
After all, I want the game to be good and still be played by tens of thousands of people in 2-3 months' time.
Precisely because the game has potential.

These developers are doing the right thing by communicating well and briefly explaining in detail how it's going to work and such. Unlike other developers who leave their fans in the dark and expect everyone to pay for it without question.

Love this game!!! Also love at 55 seconds to 57 seconds you can see the NPC's Lag teleporting instead of walking haha, so frustrating when lining a shot up and it teleports haha

Compass/watch on wrist and Map tablet or paper map in game would be awesome.
Compass is at the top of your screen and the map if you press M. Why would they add things that are already in the game?

How about we fix performance to make it playable, then work on making the game better overall such as not waiting 20 minutes for a heli and having to spam click to get your slot. I would rather have a fast travel instead of waiting as long as we are
No not more content, first the game needs to run and not crash so often. People with the newest hardware don't realise there are massive game-breaking performance issues

I think the wait time is one of the best parts. Adds excitement to it. Adds a level of uncertainty. Makes you not get lazy and think a heli will be here shortly.

Respect for teaching rules for movement and suppression, many are used to AI that's not persistent in maneuvering and finding your location that caught me onward first, but on time I switched to more wise tactics

This is a really good thing that you reach out to us this way and give a follow up what is going on behind the scenes. Also, the tips and tricks are greatly appreciated by many of us :) These are the extra steps that made me decide to not to refund the game even tough it is not too playable for me at this stage :D

it's amazing to see you guys still working on this game. I remember following you guys at least 6 years now as a recommendation. Things look to be soothing along now at a steady pace. As a fps lover but bored of cod nowadays thanks to it being a cash grab series now. This looks like a nice refreshing face onto the genre that I love. The work is looking amazing thus far.
