I feel that the faction on faction warfare (AI v AI, that is) is something that NEEDS to happen. If the AI only ever shoot at players, then everyone else within audio distance will immediately know that there are players nearby to fight. However, if you cannot tell whether or not a gunfight involves players, I believe people will be less likely to just hold W towards them. Overall looks super interesting though.
100%! It's also a fantastic way to really sell the reality of the conflict zone you're in, rather than it just feeling like an AI-killing arena. Helps to embed the player within the game world!
Arma 3 already has this, you can actually have two armies fight against eachother (although the AI is not that good lol). I love to sometimes open the editor and mess around, as if I'm fighting in a full on war!
Main thing that will make or break this game though is if the AI is brain dead like in 99% of other shooters. I get so bored with milsim style PvE games when the AI is only challenging because they have godlike aim. Ironically Call of Duty has some of the most realistic looking AI when it comes to them actually using cover, blind fire, etc.. Where as the main milsim game Arma the AI can't do anything other than stand up or lay down in the middle of the open. If they can't make decent AI, they just need to scrap this idea and make it PvPvE.
Yeah, when you boil everything down to the basics everything is everything. Even if the devs really don’t want to add a PvE only mode or offline, they would lose out on a whole bunch of gamers who are looking for singleplayer tactical experiences. This could be the closest thing we have to a new Ghost Recon.
I want offline just to avoid the time wasted by matchmaking. If you spend an hour playing Tarkov, you're lucky to spend 20 minutes of that hour in raid. I only play the Single Player Tarkov mod now because I'm tired of waiting for matchmaking.
Having 4 squads for each faction makes me wish that the squad leaders can talk to each other through comms so they can relay info to each other. Imagine one squad is currently under fire, whether from the AI or Players and another squad happens to be nearby to flank.
Yeah I hope they encourage different squad from the same faction to have an incentive to work together. So picking your faction may have an effect on how you in interacted with other player squads.
@@wowawewah Yeah you can talk directly to Squad 1 till 9 with the numbers on your num-pad in Squad. Would be cool if they put it in this game too for the 4 teams of the 3 factions...
This game is shaping up to be everything I’ve wanted from this sub-genre. I’m so HYPED for the passion that seems to be flowing behind this game. It has a core identity to it that I think shows it has direction. Fucking non-linear gameplay mixed with needing to dig deeper as a player instead of being spoon feed shit.
The core gameplay loop (just from a single-player perspective) seems somewhat reminiscent of Lethal Company. Obviously very much not the same thing, and I’m not even suggesting that it’s inspired. You go in, explore the abandoned area with your squad, find valuable items and take them back to your “base,” then once you’re ready, you take your loot and dip outta there. Another similarity, you’re just a company hire doing your job for the money.
Games with a good bit of actual thought out lore and setting will always intrigue me more then just the way it plays. Take me, I'm ready to be immersed 🍑
I used to play their game Shadowgun deadzone on Facebook back in the days, it was the first game that i put in ridiculous amount of hours into. really good to see the studio has stepped up.
I just want to say a massive congrats to Riloe. For those who don’t know, this man has gone from posting clips of him and his friends to being one of the best sources of tarkov information in short form media. And now a new milestone, this RUclips video has 30k views in less than ONE DAY. It’s been great to experience this journey with you Riloe and wish you as much success as you deserve in the new year and more!
He also said this is more than an extraction shooter and takes elements from a lot of titles. He should of said this is not "just" and extraction shooter.
I've now watched 4 vids (back-to-back) on this game, recapping the same information you are covering. YOUR coverage, however, has been the most complete and thought-provoking!
Thank you, that means a lot! I tried to be concise while also covering the HUGE swaths of information we got all at once. There's more to talk about too...
One thing I am concerned about is any provisions for single player. I know that it is not the main aim of the game, however I feel like it would be a worth while investmen especially if the game devolves into tryhards and metas. Something that will allow people to play a more relaxed version of the game, not wondering if a squad of the most sweaty people alive is about to camp one mission area and take all your loot.
@@JayJayH3424i personally like the gun game mechanics. Like how you fight other players, dont really like the survival aspect. Ita draining for me which is why i play arena now.
The quote about this being a game for mature gamers and they won't be dumbing it down, is a huge win and selling point for me. One of the worst trends in gaming nowadays, is just that, dumbing games down. Picking this up asap.
Damn looks like they are using real manufactures in this game. Once of the scopes had a "Vortex" label. I also saw a Daniel Defense M4A1 RIS 2 Rail and a Daniel Defense DDM4V7 coated in their Milspec brown. It even had Daniel Defense's proprietary furniture That comes on all their AR's. I really hope it stays this way in the future.
I’m always cautious when it comes to indie developed games with high targets but this project does have a lot of green flags and very few red flags. Looking forward to getting my hands on it hopefully next year!
At least this studio has games under their belt. And pretty good ones at that. This is a huge undertaking, but if we get a beta that's as good or better than tarkov started, I'll be more than happy to buy into it.
The track record of these devs is great! Their games are often very beautiful looking, bug free, fun, networked mobile games. This could actually give them a leg up. Since they are used to making networked, well working and performant mobile games, means they have a lot of experience with getting good looking games running on many different platforms (different phones with many different chipsets) So they are probably more experienced with the things where most indie game devs burn. QA, performance tweaking, proper networking etc. I mean their games are mobile, but that's not saying anything perse. Their games could have been made for any platform tbh. I have very high hopes for this game. And for me personally this style and level design is perfect! Never played Tarkov, but I've always loved games like Dayz (even the ultra janky mod), rust, scum etc. This game actually seems much more fun than Tarkov to me. Edit: Salute
@mrphoenix5951 I hope you don't apply this mindset to your own relationships. It's never a given of course, but it absolutely does say something about what you might expect!
What does this opinion have to do with relationships? What kinda passive jab is this? Projecting much? Either way, no one's got time for your liberal shenanigans.@@DeltaNovum
Honestly you describe it so well I'd be completely fine with this being a shortfilm or even a radio-theater, I don't even need to play this cause I'm so interested in the story I feel like playing it as a video game would ruin that immersion.
I will forever be wary of games and their promises but from what I've seen after watching a few videos on this title, its definitely one worth keeping an eye on!!
Riloe, this was an excellently laid out and paced breakdown of GZW that felt really well grounded and addressed a lot of concerns any sane tactical gamer would have about the project. Thanks for putting it together! Your work deserves a "salute" from this guy o7
I really hope they take their time and release the game in a decent state to the wider public. Everything the devs said sounds good band it really feels like they want to actively communicate with interested/ potential players, which is incredibly important and a lot of companies lack that communication with their community (*cough cough bsg). However I think its always important to not jump on any hypetrains and blindly pre-order anything. We hall know by now that AAA studios abuse that willingness to buy stuff blindly and some indie devs are certainly picking that up (not always with malicious intend). Thanks packing the vid with info and keeping it concise, keep it up G. o7
I already loved the trailer but with all this information you got me hyped for this game. They way you described the devs sounds very promising so I hope they actually deliver.
This Not-An-Extraction shooter where you take gear into a raid, loot and shoot and then try to extract with whatever you picked up in order to secure it in your base actually looks really sweet, hope the gameplay lives up to the top notch visuals.
Thank you for covering this game. As a Tarkov player it is refreshing to hear that PVP is not forced (i don't mind it but i don't chase it) salute to you and your content. (found you through shorts but stayed for the long form content)
I hope conducting reconnaissance and surveillance is a big driving focus to complete objectives instead of what we been getting with a lot of tactical shooters just hit an objective and loot
I salute your coverage of this game I never really knew what it was about but this seems like it will be among my favorite tactical shooters when it releases.
Huge thanks for posting this information. This game is honestly my most anticipated of the decade. I’m a dad now so don’t get much time, but this is everything I’ve ever wanted in a game.
i still don't understand how anyone expected anything other than what the day before ended up as, what were you doing? imagining how you'd like the game to be? even though they called it a "mmo" it was always clear it was just an extraction shooter, must be a gen z thing
@@thatfunnykekguy6377 cyberpunk wasn’t a scam or a rugpull though. That was a very sad case of passionate devs being crushed under the weight of horrible corporate management
As someone who has already play many MFG's games back in the days, I have a lot of trust in their capabilities and the qualities of their games. I'd also like to know to which extent is the customization of the weapons and armors are going to be?
I'd like to see PvE only servers. Because you know a lot of people will just focus on PVP. Have all 3 PMC groups on a server, but no PVP. That's the only way I would play the game.
@riloe Gaming it might be worthwhile communicating to the devs that there is a alot of distance between hand holding and making players dependent on third parties to complete quests. One of my biggest frustrations about Tarkov is quest design and a large number of quests are nearly impossible to complete without relying on 3rd party sources like the wiki. They should explore ways to bridge that gap in an immersive way in game.
I am very excited. I have no negative caveats to present whatsoever. This seems like a perfect experience with intentional squad-based tactics and open exploration. It pulls together a bunch of things from other games I already loved but which did not have satisying or intense enough gameplay loops. This gameplay loop seems decision-based and interesting. A good risk/reward beneficiary balance. Be on the look out for this game FOR SURE.
of course i will be skeptical but IF they deliver on what they're saying this does look like it will be a very interesting game! i would love to see a pve only mode or even a zeus mode like in arma, as it really seems like an amazing canvas for that, and thanks for the explanation and stuff on the game, was easy to follow so great vid!
So hard to contain my excitement for this game and prevent the hype from overtaking me! Can’t wait to see more from MFG and I really hope they can bring their vision for the game to life! Also I would love to hear more about the irl PMC and Grayzone Warfare stuff from you in the future, if you’re interested in covering that!
100% going to cover it. The politics of "Gray Zone Warfare" IRL are actually FASCINATING and I'd love to break down how this game is handling warfare so much more realistically than most.
This game looks amazing! I salute the Madfinger for being so transparent and setting out to build such an immersive experience. I'll definitely be looking forward to that early access release! Also great coverage on your part! Thanks for making this video!
Assuming this runs... I'd love to see extreme debilitating injuries result teammates carrying/dragging a still conscious players out or if solo maybe you use up a resource to call in an evac and you could exit the game. These evac's could be dynamically generated quests for other pmc's.

Oh man, the whole PvP not being 'forced' thing is really peaking my interest. One of fav experiences with these types of games was playing Dayz Epoch one time and just causally trading with a whole squad of other players I ran into while scavenging - swapping mags and food. Really nice guys, just wanted info on hostiles in the area. I really hope this game has some instances of players going '8 guns is better than 4', specially with high level AI militaries.
If it's anything like what happens when an entire server bands together on sea of thieves, then I can only assume it'll be absolutely epic. Sure coordinating several squads possibly without direct radio contact to avoid friendly fire would be an absolute nightmare, but the rewards for domination of the map would be absolutely awesome. People in the milsim community would jump at such a challenge to orchestrate complex overlapping raids.
Wait the second I remembered who the devs are I got hit with a wave a nostalgia. I spent so many hours playing both dead trigger games. My hope are now very high for this. Even if those games where relatively simple
It pains me to say that this looks a lot like Escape From Tarkov but on a way bigger map. Inventory looks extremely similar, gunplay is similar, quest structure is practically identical, traders look near identical, extraction mechanics much in the same vein as Tarkov, and PvP that will probably end up being required for later quests just like in Tarkov.
Algo sent me. I really like how you covered a lot of the meta and general questions/concerns the average viewer/gamer would have. Very excited for this game. Great vid. 🍻
So it's another tired PVPVE extraction shooter like the tons of other clones out there that will soon be overrun by hackers and griefers. Exactly what we thought it was. Where's the mystery?
Bro I grew up playing the dead trigger franchise and when I heard they sold their catalogue to Deca it saddened me but to see the same studio developing games like this makes it all worth it
The best part for me is that you will have a choice to play pure pve or pvpve so you don't always have to PVP if you don't feel like it. Being a player that likes to bounce back and fourth between the two I'll be supporting these guys for sure. Very excited for this game.
umm good luck with that 95% of players in hard core games like this will always shot other players on sight so they them selves cant be attacked . shame the devs havent realised this.
This provided more context for the studio and them having ties to Bohemia shows they know how tactical shooters work since arma3 is still has a massive player base
Honestly this gives me some hope. The thing that turned me away from EFT was forced tk do the quests. Maybe I misunderstood you but if questing is optional, and even if i miss out on some things. I wouldnt mind spending my time just hunting players

This is in my wishlist and after seeing the gameplay trailer, i have to say i was amazed by the graphics, the weapon modeling and how it actually shows what real PMC's are.
This is the best video i have seen so far about this game thanks for all this information can't wait to play this game because i have been stuck since tarkov and hate sometimes to kill pmc that are trying doing quest at least here i gonna be able to play by who i'am
its actually like sea of thieves, you have pvp but you dont have to engage in it, you steal loot then secure it by selling (or returning to base in this game), you also do lots of quests, and you also have a lot of ai, and lore(you can play SoT without ever touching the story missions)
This is first I’ve heard about this but I am PUMPED for it!! I love playing a modded Ghost Recon Breakpoint and I like Arma 3 and Squad too. I don’t have enough free time to get into Tarkov and this looks like the perfect in between
It’s crazy that indie/AA companies are the ones creating/giving us some of the most immersive/innovative games to experience in a genre that’s needed a major shot in the arm.

That would be a really interesting idea! I'd love to see how communication within PMCs works, if that's planned.
Yeah I hope they encourage different squad from the same faction to have an incentive to work together. So picking your faction may have an effect on how you in interacted with other player squads.
I think Squad has this if I'm not mistaken
or even missions that are so big or difficult you need more than one squad to complete it
@@wowawewah Yeah you can talk directly to Squad 1 till 9 with the numbers on your num-pad in Squad.
200% agree mate
It's a modern Day Z, calm your tits.
Personally I agree! For some people, gameplay is everything, but lore and tone takes things a LONG way for me.
Exactly 💯💯💯
🍆 I'm ready!
I used to play their game Shadowgun deadzone on Facebook back in the days, it was the first game that i put in ridiculous amount of hours into. really good to see the studio has stepped up.
Haha nice!

"This is not an extraction shooter" goes on to describe extraction shooter almost exactly like Tarkov in the Jungle.
I'm excited for Greyzone. It might be the only game that gets me away from Tarkov.
Only game keeping me away from tarkov is tarkov itself
Tarkov is only popular cuz it's the only game like it ATM
BSG better look out!
@@JayJayH3424i personally like the gun game mechanics. Like how you fight other players, dont really like the survival aspect. Ita draining for me which is why i play arena now.

This is literally the objective definition of an extraction shooter lmfao
The quote about this being a game for mature gamers and they won't be dumbing it down, is a huge win and selling point for me. One of the worst trends in gaming nowadays, is just that, dumbing games down. Picking this up asap.
“This isn’t an extraction shooter, but you will be looting, extracting, and shooting”
The minute I reached "Roadside Picnic" I was instantly sold, having also seen the existing footage from this game. Super hyped for this
their is seemingly nothing from RSP in this video
@@DeltaNovum good record doesn't mean anything unfortunately but i'd rather expect nothing and get a surprise hype train is the worst
Hahaha thank you! Peep the lore video too ❤
I will forever be wary of games and their promises but from what I've seen after watching a few videos on this title, its definitely one worth keeping an eye on!!
Riloe, this was an excellently laid out and paced breakdown of GZW that felt really well grounded and addressed a lot of concerns any sane tactical gamer would have about the project. Thanks for putting it together! Your work deserves a "salute" from this guy o7
o7 o7 o7
I really hope they take their time and release the game in a decent state to the wider public. Everything the devs said sounds good band it really feels like they want to actively communicate with interested/ potential players, which is incredibly important and a lot of companies lack that communication with their community (*cough cough bsg). However I think its always important to not jump on any hypetrains and blindly pre-order anything. We hall know by now that AAA studios abuse that willingness to buy stuff blindly and some indie devs are certainly picking that up (not always with malicious intend).
Thanks packing the vid with info and keeping it concise, keep it up G. o7
Dude, the cycle frontier music you used here made me miss the game so much. Rest in piece
I already loved the trailer but with all this information you got me hyped for this game. They way you described the devs sounds very promising so I hope they actually deliver.
"this is not an extraction shooter", proceeds to describe an extraction shooter.
I love how you breakdown the mechanics of the game. You’re quickly becoming one of my favorite content creators.
Thank you I appreciate it!!
This Not-An-Extraction shooter where you take gear into a raid, loot and shoot and then try to extract with whatever you picked up in order to secure it in your base actually looks really sweet, hope the gameplay lives up to the top notch visuals.
has to be one of the most informative vids on the interwebs. specially for being on a subject that has relatively little info to be had.
Thank you! Glad it helped
Thank you for covering this game. As a Tarkov player it is refreshing to hear that PVP is not forced (i don't mind it but i don't chase it) salute to you and your content. (found you through shorts but stayed for the long form content)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
I hope conducting reconnaissance and surveillance is a big driving focus to complete objectives instead of what we been getting with a lot of tactical shooters just hit an objective and loot
Thats a good idea!
"A farewell to arms". If these guys are actually well read people too, dropping small details like that, this is sounding like a passion project.
Any dev that starts a game showcase with "So remember that scam game? Look at this" has my full respect and attention instantly
It was a huge green flag tbh 😅
i still don't understand how anyone expected anything other than what the day before ended up as, what were you doing? imagining how you'd like the game to be? even though they called it a "mmo" it was always clear it was just an extraction shooter, must be a gen z thing
I kinda remember Cyberpunk publishers doing the same kinda of stunt and turned out they were part of the joke too.
@atlas2296 I'm not saying this is a scam but scammers do it all the time, it's a popular tactic to distract from their own scam.
@@thatfunnykekguy6377 cyberpunk wasn’t a scam or a rugpull though. That was a very sad case of passionate devs being crushed under the weight of horrible corporate management
I’m so glad to hear the devs showed you the actual game.
When I first saw the trailer I thought it looked way too good to be true. So hyped!!
I think this is the most hyped I've ever been for a game, salute!
This 100%
Tarkov is not “mature.” It’s a full time job and impossibly dense and unintuitive. Its quests don’t help it.
Interrogating civilians and looking for intel like files or hacking computers is how Ghost recon wildlands did it
I am very excited.
Thank you!
Thanks for making a clear and informative video about this game. I really enjoyed it! Keep up the great work!
Honestly, I think a COOP PVE only side of the game would be way more beneficial or a system that makes PVP have a cost even if you win.
Assuming this runs... I'd love to see extreme debilitating injuries result teammates carrying/dragging a still conscious players out or if solo maybe you use up a resource to call in an evac and you could exit the game.
These evac's could be dynamically generated quests for other pmc's.
Lol "this game is not an extraction shooter" proceeds to describe the exact definition of an extraction shooter
Its more like a "open world spec ops " (like Ghost Recon)
Definitely not a extraction shooter, don’t be ignorant
@@AllegiancyIt is literally by definition an extraction shooter that's the genre lmfaoo that's what makes the difference between the genre of open world survival game (stalker) and extraction shooter (tarkov) you're the one being ignorant
Ong, extraction shooter is literally go into a mission, focus on getting loot and finishing the quest and then leaving rather than focusing on killing as many enemies as possible
Exactly my thoughts, sounded like every other game I’ve played just trying to be hipster or something
I absolutely love how theres no way points and cookie cutter queats. You find it out on your own. It immerses you so much more in the game and adds so much ive been dying for a game to be like this. Game sounds so promising like a game ive been waiting since i was a kid for...
the health system sounds really interesting looking forward for this
Oh man, the whole PvP not being 'forced' thing is really peaking my interest.
Hm sounds awfully like an extraction shooter
Wait the second I remembered who the devs are I got hit with a wave a nostalgia. I spent so many hours playing both dead trigger games. My hope are now very high for this. Even if those games where relatively simple
"This is NOT an extraction shooter"
*Proceeds to explain how this is exactly an extraction shooter*
if you have to go into a map, loot & kill, then leave, it is EXACTLY an extraction shooter.
Great vid. 🍻
Thank you!!
"no loading screens" lol ok, only thing thats worrying is how big their ego seems it may be their downfall
So it's another tired PVPVE extraction shooter like the tons of other clones out there that will soon be overrun by hackers and griefers. Exactly what we thought it was. Where's the mystery?
Bro I grew up playing the dead trigger franchise and when I heard they sold their catalogue to Deca it saddened me but to see the same studio developing games like this makes it all worth it
As somebody whom is Laotian on my mother's side, I see this as an absolute win.

I am legit excited for this game, it looks like it'll scratch THAT particular itch in an actually good way!
The best part for me is that you will have a choice to play pure pve or pvpve so you don't always have to PVP if you don't feel like it. Being a player that likes to bounce back and fourth between the two I'll be supporting these guys for sure. Very excited for this game.
You can choose not to engage other players, but they can attack you whenever, so there will always be PvP.
umm good luck with that 95% of players in hard core games like this will always shot other players on sight so they them selves cant be attacked . shame the devs havent realised this.
This provided more context for the studio and them having ties to Bohemia shows they know how tactical shooters work since arma3 is still has a massive player base
The info is appreciated, but there are several spots where you just talk too fast.
It’s something I’m working on!
So how is this not an extraction shooter?? What you described is exactly what an extraction shooter is. This looks great, can't wait to see more.
I couldn't agree more. It doesn't make it a bad thing either.
"This is a game for mature audiences". I swear if they will have a Season 1 or 2 or whatever with pink furry outfits I am calling the police.
Honestly this gives me some hope. The thing that turned me away from EFT was forced tk do the quests. Maybe I misunderstood you but if questing is optional, and even if i miss out on some things. I wouldnt mind spending my time just hunting players
I’m sure you can do whatever you want, but your enjoyment may be limited

This is the best video i have seen so far about this game thanks for all this information can't wait to play this game because i have been stuck since tarkov and hate sometimes to kill pmc that are trying doing quest at least here i gonna be able to play by who i'am
its actually like sea of thieves, you have pvp but you dont have to engage in it, you steal loot then secure it by selling (or returning to base in this game), you also do lots of quests, and you also have a lot of ai, and lore(you can play SoT without ever touching the story missions)
My jaw literally dropped when you said it was based on Roadside Picnic. The world needs more Tactical shooters set in that universe.
Well it’s not set in that universe per se. Just generally based around the core ideas of the book
This is first I’ve heard about this but I am PUMPED for it!! I love playing a modded Ghost Recon Breakpoint and I like Arma 3 and Squad too. I don’t have enough free time to get into Tarkov and this looks like the perfect in between
now this is a game i can get behind since i find tarkov too stressful for my taste but im comfortable with games like arma 3 and ready or not.
I find RoN so stressful 😅

It’s crazy that indie/AA companies are the ones creating/giving us some of the most immersive/innovative games to experience in a genre that’s needed a major shot in the arm.
If they do pve only servers I will be very interested. PvP in a game like this doesn’t interest me anymore.
