I always wonder, who are these people who put "dislike' to these dedicated, extraordinary talented teachers and students :)))))))))) Is it those who were expelled for academic failure? Or those who do not know how to teach ballet? Who are there failed people? By "dislike" they sign in worthlessness.
I've noticed that many Russian ballet schools are rundown, yet they produce the best ballerinas in the world. By comparison, privately funded American ballet schools cannot produce the same level of quality. Pity.
Ocelotl Cuauhtli it’s true. Different circumstances. I don’t know what it is about the States and our ballet schools. I guess it is all down to culture, and what we are looking for in the students. If anything, Russian ballet dancers are extremely soulful. I don’t get that same spirit from dancers in the West. It’s something to think about for the future.
It's called the Vaganova Technique. It's simply not taught in most American schools, which teach a mishmash of 'styles' of ballet, or the rudimentary RAD syllabus, which is meant for enthusiasts, not professional training. Only Vaganova-trained dancers will actually have a mastery of every step in the choreographic canon, and will have the port de bras that brings the 'soulful' nature that Hazelnut speaks of.
It’s so funny to see that huge photo of Nureyev on the wall after never allowing his name to be spoken or image to be shown anywhere in the Soviet Union! It’s a beautiful photo, that’s for sure!

Вдохновилась!
оч красивр!
Just WOW!!!
It's amazing they managed on those soviet floors.
Those floors are the best. Only spoiled westerners / americans think about this.
@@arktana That is a ridiculous statement and one can only hope that you are. not a dancer, as those floors are extremely hard on a dancer's body.
The floors are the least important when you focus on the training.
Who is the girl in the middle of the centre barre, behind Alina?
It's Elena Vostrotina
