Hi Jill. I can relate to you so much and know that you are my soul mate! Lol. I’m 56 and also homeschooled my 4 kids for 14 years. They are older than yours...all adults now and I have a 2-year-old grandson. Anyway, I’m the only one in my family that is whole-food plant-based. My husband still brings in junk food and smokes meat every weekend. 🙄 But I am determined to be healthy. Love you and your channel. Thank you for helping people and sharing your sunny attitude.

I do this too during the week and I absolutely love to have it right there at my fingertips. It encourages me to eat when I could just as easily skip meals altogether. I do one thing differently though, and that is to put the “wet” stuff, Cukes onion tomato’s cheese squash zucchini etc in another bowl and keep them separate. Thus will keep even LONGER!

When I make a salad, I use my ipot inner pot for my scrap collector. Then I make a pot of broth with those scraps, onion, carrot, celery, and herbs. We use it for soup, beans, and energy drinks. Then the leftovers can still go into the compost heap. Double usage is like taking money from the big corps (or candy from a baby.)

After a year, I finally figured out to make a huge container of chopped veggies for on-going salads, like you just did, but now that I've seen you do it, I am really going to stick with it! All three of these dressings sound great. I've been using a plant based Caesar and another one I like is some BBQ sauce mixed with a little water, black pepper, lime, cumin, chili powder and a little ginger. I'm trying to move away from vinegar based dressings for a while, I got sick of them because it's all I ate with salads when I went plant based, and I'm moving on. LOL. I like the Breville food processor, I'm a one-person household, that size looks perfect for me! Appreciate your giving us demos on it. :)

Making the big salad every week is something I learned from Lindsey Nixon. It makes such a difference! I use produce saver containers and everything stays wonderfully fresh. The almond butter and Dijon dressings look great, but I'm a cilantro hater so that one is off the table. Thanks for a great salad (I keep a separate container of cherry tomatoes to put on top) and a fun video! I bought my Breville all in one over a year ago because of you and I use it often!

Hi Jill. Love your videos. You have a great container for storing your salad, but you lost me when you poured the salad into the big tub to mix it up. I have had great results with putting on the lid (which I saw on the bottom of the plastic container) and shaking the container until the ingredients were mixed. It works and one less thing to wash. Let me know if it works for you?

It keeps better if you line the bottom of the container either with paper towels or a clean kitchen towel, then place another over the top before putting the lid on. I always have a container of salad in the fridge & never have a problem with browning.

Not sure if you mentioned or not but do you make the same salad every week or do you just use whatever veggies you have on hand? I've been bulk making 3-4 salads at a time and putting them in different containers. Next week I'm going to give you method a try :-).

Cut the root of the onion off at about half inch, pit in water and it regrows!

For sure! And then plant it outside in the soil, instant, homegrown, spring onions :) Have done this also with the bottom of celery, romaine, and buttercrunch lettuce heads.

I noticed that you did not wash the lettuce. I hear that you must wash your ettuce, even the triple washed one. Any thoughts?

Okay I made your garlic and chili almond butter dressing and it was so delicious that I actually wanted to add more salad to my plate so I could have more dressing. I have been struggling with not wanting to eat salads in the evening time because they're just not that wonderful but now they are wonderful!!! Thank you so much you have saved me!

You're welcome, Shuggles! You did right to use a mustard you enjoy tasting. Dijon is Charlie's go-to mustard, so naturally, he can eat his version everyday. I have whole grain mustard in the fridge; I love it in my sandwiches and potato salad.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know how the dressing worked for you. I'm inspired! 💛

@JillMcKeever had to come back for an update..
1... I left my whole grain Mustard seeds whole. I don't blend them because I LOVVVE The POP of the seeds when I bite on them..
And the reason I came back.. I Steamed a whole Cauliflower till for tender and I topped I on my plate w THIS DRESSING !!! I thought my daughter would BUST eating this... she loved it as did everyone.... Charlie's dressings has Non stop uses. I want to tey it over smash potatoes !! And all other veggies ... Jill. You just Killed it on these dressing IMO... I have had a personal struggle w Kraft Ranch dressing. I can't make it like that at home. I've tried years.. homemade versions are edible but not the same at all.. so when I tried this Mustard dressing .. I've not had Kraft even one since. I'm hoping I find a Mayo subtitute.. KRAFT also.. I wish. I WISSSSHHHH I could find a replacement for that to... I hate knowing it's not vegan. 😢 and I know its not good for my heart.. a Triple Bypass this year...
