    Jill- I am just now transitioning my family to a WFPB way of living. I have 4 picky kids 8 & under and a MEAT LOVING HUSBAND! I chose this as dinner on day3. And it was A HIT!!!!!!!!! Every single person in the family loved it!
    Thank you! Thank you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do and all you teach us!
    I watched your video with Maggie on how you transitioned the kids and that helped me in SO many ways!
    Very thankful for you!!!

    Jill, I do a version of this recipe the day before I go grocery shopping every week. What ever we have left that needs to be used up is what we have for dinner with rice, noodles or something else starchy . Over time my sauce has evolved to something sorta Asian. Maybe mine needs some of the Sambal Oleek too. I'll get some tomorrow and let you know how it turns out.
    I've missed you, but also understand the need for some space to take a few deep breaths. Thanks for visiting. Give little Poncho a hug for me.

    Serve the sambal oelek as a condiment so each guest can fine tune the heat to their own preferences. That's what they do in Asia.

    • @JillMcKeever
      @JillMcKeever  8 лет назад +2

      I love that pan, Marcy. It's a Green Pan Wok. I probably bought it at Target. If you don't have a large enough lid at home already, you may want to buy one for the wok. When I need to steam A BUNCH of veggies, I use an extra large lid from another skillet to get the job done.

    • @JillMcKeever
      @JillMcKeever  8 лет назад

      It's a Green Pan wok. I've had it for...gosh....four years. Found it at Target. At the time it did not come with a lid, fortunately I had one large enough already. I think these days the wok comes with a lid. I know Target still carries the Green Pan brand. They're reasonably priced, too. :D

    So does the black pepper give the tofu an eggy flavor? I got some, but I haven't used it yet. Also can I use purple cabbage?

    • @JillMcKeever
      @JillMcKeever  8 лет назад +2

      The black salt tastes and smells like a boiled egg. It's weird and tasty all at the same time. If you decide to shop for it, go to an Indian grocery store. Don't buy it online, it's WAY overpriced online. I can buy a 8 ounce bag of it for $2 at local Indian grocery store around the corner from my neighborhood. Tell the clerk you need "kala namak", black salt.

    • @JillMcKeever
      @JillMcKeever  8 лет назад +1

      Oh one more thing. A little goes a long way so buy the smallest bag of Black salt they have on hand. I've read that for Indians, black salt is as common as our salt and pepper. You may find the store's smallest bag is still more than you need. Think about which of your foodie friends you could share it with. ;D

    Hi Jill, is your pan still good? I got mixed reviews on Amazon. I'm still on the hunt for a good non stick non Teflon pan. Thanks for your videos! L x

    • @JillMcKeever
      @JillMcKeever  7 лет назад +1

      I totally dig my green pan wok and saucepans. I bought them piece by piece when Target put them on sale. I have had the large wok for 5 years and it still looks new. No scratches. It's easy to clean with a washcloth. Same for the saucepans. If you come across the green pan wok with a lid, get that one. At the time, I bought my wok, the lid wasn't available. Thankfully, I already had a large lid from an old teflon skillet that fit well enough.

    Good morning JIll, I'm thinking that the reason the tofu pops off better after leaving it sit for a bit might be because of the condensation that sometimes builds up from the heat, which would let the tofu relax a little????? Dunno,,,, it's my guess LOL.
