Supermotos are bad cuz their guaranteed to bring out your inner hooligan side. It's like having a Grom you'll find yourself doing wheelies everywhere you go and you'll have a near permanent grin on your face while riding either.
Yep! I have a buddy that bought a 2014 drz400sm. He had been riding bikes since he was old enough to get a special permit at 14 and rode a klr100, moved to a sportster, then a gsxr600, z1000,etc. In all the time never a single ticket on a bike. Then came along the drz and he caught a wreckless driving ticket for riding a wheelie, almost had his bike impounded and almost had a jail stay. Didn't run or anything, just popped it up, got caught, set it down and pulled over. No other cars around except the hiding highway patrolman.

Been riding only cruisers for twenty years until adding an RC390 to the stable last year. This year I gotta get a Super Moto. Gotta get some of that fun you're having. I don't call it devolving, more like graduating up. There's an inner hooligan inside this 45 year old mind that wants to feel like a twenty something again.
Yea I got the sumo and it definitely has that immature feel, I think of myself as responsible rider but am forever looking for where I can be hooligan, and ain't many places.. That is one thing, the older the less appetite for night in cells, so can see how someone might migrate away and try stay from trouble, it's the other end of the sport bike spectrum.
I almost got a YZ and made it into a supermoto but I was worried the gearing wouldnt be that good for highway use, so i got a 690 smcr and cant stop riding it. Too much fun
Yo what about wr250x for beginner, i mean i know you had 250r, (watched every vid back in the days). But what is your opinion right now? 250x good? Found very good one 15k km 2016 4.5k euros.
Worst moto mistake you ever made was selling that WR250R rather than converting it to a supermoto. Super long maintenance intervals, wheelies easy, grunty once it’s uncorked.. you just ride the wheels off the damn thing and never think twice. Ridiculous, worry free fun-man size Grom.
Everyone should ride whatever moves them personally. I have my Road Glide, and I’ll ride with anyone, as long as they’re on a motorcycle and not a scooter. Supermotos look fun, but they’re too small for my old fat ass, so I’ll have to rely on my RG and my younger wife to keep me young. It’s working so far 😂😂😂
Riding a Supermoto, although fun, is only kids play compared with the highest ranking fun you will have when you ride a Harley-Davidson! Life is short. Switch to a Harley-Davidson while you still can to really enjoy the complete fun package which covers the wide spectrum of experiences in your life. There's more to riding than popping wheelies on a Supermoto. Move on. Besides you have Harley DNA in your blood with your family tree attesting to this 😃.
