i appreciate the tutorial.i'm new to the hobby.
Same dude
Same,, having problems after trying a first charge on the batteries haha!! 😂
This really helped me
Good tips, bro! New to the hobby and this was very informative! Thanks!
Great video on basic troubleshooting, can't find a better one.
Thank you so much. So helpful your a legend
Wow actually work thought i was gana have to buy a new esc or motor thanks!
This was great. Thanks for doing it. I need to diagnose exactly this and now I know how.
Excellent! Many good and standard engineering practices here. A note. It could have been the "where the 500 pound gorilla meets the 'tonics" as AvE would have said. The throttle switch/potentiometer is the most common place for battery powered tools to fail (but they are used in a messier environment though). Isolating the problematic component from the source (battery in the controller) to the end (actual motors) is the name of the game
very informative! was having the exact problem thank you!
Thanks for the informative video. A problem I'm having is that my receivers keep going bad. It started when I switched from brushed to brushless. Any suggestions? Again, thanks!
Glitch buster
Awesome video brother!! keep up the awesome work
Thank you, very clear and easy to understand.
so mine stalls when I use throttle, so it responds like a few seconds later. It doesnt reverse and it steers but it's only like a fraction(so if I steer fully to the right it only goes the littlest bit to the right as if I'm trying to change lanes on a highway)
Nathan Languerand might want to check the settings on your transmitter and then rebind and reprogram the ESC.
Could you please do the intro a bit louder. My speakers are still working 😆
I figured the kids are asleep right above us😂🙌🏻
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, mate!
Great video, got me thinking and all it was it loose connection in my motor wires.
I have made an rc plane for my scool project first it works great but after some time the throttle strats getting fluctuations in speed and can't even take a revolution it just fluctuates in its place pls help ???
Rakshit Bhatt does anything smell burned?
What if the ESC only fires up when the transmitter is disconnected?
Connected Nothing Works.
AKA ...(Mr. Noob)
Huntington Beach Sasquatch as in the transmitter is off?
No on/off switch, When I plug in the battery nothing works, when I unplug the transmitter from the ESC the ESC powers up, starts to do it's beeps and the fan starts that's on top the ESC.
Thanks for the reply!
Perhaps My Son and I will be driving it again.
Huntington Beach Sasquatch
Ok. The transmitter is the part you hold in your hand. The part that's connected to the ESC is called a receiver. It seems like your receiver may be shorted out.
I'll get a new one, Thanks for the advise.
Thank you bro for your troubleshooting knowledge it was very helpful
Great simple into the point video I love it
This was excellent. Thank you.
Big big help. Thank you.
Good video. Thanks
Very nice, thank you!!!
Thank you video help me alot
For vintage 85 futaba 2ch reciever, the esc normally gets plugged into channel 2 right? And if it don't work I'll be on the hunt to purchase one, if I can source one. Awesome vid.
quick tip and test it for your self. if your servos seem slow, upgrade or replace battery packs. I'm definitely ditching AA's and getting a rechargeable pack
Omg THANK you!!!
I have a exceed mad torque rock crawler, it has a LED light kit on it everything works fine but when I turn my wheels back and forth either way it will lose all power, it won't steer and it won't drive forward or reverse and the lights go out and it won't come back on untill I wiggle the steering back and forth a few times, it only happens when I steer it one way or another. I have switched the wires so that the throttle controlled the steering and it didn't have this problem, it's only when the steering servo is plugged into the correct spot for the steering wheel to control the steering. I was thinking maybe my receiver is bad but I don't know much so I thought maybe you could give me your opinion of what you think might be wrong
thank you man i fixed it becous of you
Hi. Thanks for useful information. My problem is a bit different. Firstly when I turn rc on the esc flasing red light like in the video, just steering works. I reversed the channels to esc and servo. This worked for about ten seconds and stopped and again flashing esc. Only works steerings in these two situations. What s wrong and which part is fault?
Ahmet KANDEMİR you might need to program your esc with your radio. check your instructions for how to di that.
thx mate.... that was very...very...very helpful ! ! ! ! I It would be awesome ...if you would do these kind of vids ! ! ? ? greetings from Nurnberg ..germany
I was planning on it, I just moved and am still setting up the shop.
Anything in particular?
I have the same problem my rc car won't go forward i even tested with 2 different controllers and still won't move so it is most likely the IC in the receiver that i need to change. And very helpful info you shared
theLEDwheel i have austar tx with rx and it comes with esc but not sure what Ampere is this. But wen I tried to install everything. It all works perfectly except there is no reverse.
Great video. Did you ever create that flowchart? I am troubleshooting and can't determine why I dont get power to my receiver. Just purchased a new one thinking it was the receiver yet the new one does not light up when I make the connections and power the RC unit on,so I never get to the point where I can bind it.
What can I test to see why I don't get the receiver light to come on?
Carlos Arnavat right of my guess would be your ESC is defective. Since you tried two receivers and get the same result. It's all about elimination.
Good Information
No way changing a friggin channel fixed my problem.wow thanks was going mad with a new transmitter and monsta esc.Changed channels and i have a response instantly.😁😁😁
Ok what about this my rc boat has power and turns quickly but is not getting on the plane very easily anymore now my first thought was the shaft must need to be greased so I did so.. took it back out and same problem only slightly worse this time now with the boat I have it is known that the weak esc burn up easily but it hasn't gotten much hotter then normal I always give it 10-15 minutes to cool down while I run my smaller rc boat and then run it again so my issue I have determined is either the esc or the motor how do I determine which it is???
Hi! I have a curious problem. I bought a hobbywing 10bl120, surpasshobby 5900kv and radiolink system. Calibrated EPA on ESC. When i goes at medium throttle and hit 100%, motor reacts with some "delay" and keeps pushing throttle about 0.5-1 sec ... its so dangerous. I adjust punch mode and no results. 6200mah 50C
Do you know what happen? thanks
Why would you set an epa on the esc?
@@TheLEDwheel is in point 1 of instruction manual..
Ok I see, EPA at 100% on chanel 2 for the ESC. Punch mode only applies from take off so won't change anything mid throttle.
Any other settings changed on the radio.

I need some help, I'm pretty savvy with mechanical and some electronics, I have a T-maxx with a the 27Mhz setup, I took it out for about an hour, did after run maintenance, went to take it out the next day and I apparently forgot to power off the receiver or transmitter(I forget which it was and I get confused on which is which even though I keep reminding myself).I switched the batteries(brand new AA both times). power it up but no response whatsoever, not even a servo whine like the battery wires fried or the transmitter/reciever is bad. took it to my usual hobby shop and I fond out my steering servo is apparently bad (no response) but I still haven't found the source of the problem. I am trying to find the exact issue so I fix it without buying extra parts.Thank you for reading and please help, it's been months and I'm going nuts not being able to R/c.
UPDATE: it's my reciever. some how it's not delivering power. I pulled my 27Mhz Crystal out and put it in a 2 channel( no clue of what brand) reciever and only one channel worked but I'm keeping that semi working reciever for a servo tester... I'm so close to finish I can taste the nitro.
Does the receiver work without the steering servo connected?
Thanks man
Thanks for sharing the info, I’m new on this RC stuff troubleshooting and I will be testing my c14 , what it does is turns backwards when driving forward for couple of seconds and stays like that for few more seconds then if I press reverse it goes fine for couple of seconds but same thing stays stuck for a moment then stops, I did not know where to start the troubleshooting.
I don't really know the C14 specs or functionality, but it is kind of a middle ground rc. Not toygrade, but still not Hobby garde. That being said, the first thing to check is always always make sure your battery is charged. On a hobby grade rc when the battery is low it will stop the motor but will still allow steering.
Hi I have a brushless setup on 1/12 scale, motor will work on channel 1 with steering and channel 2 with throttle. But servo does not work on channel 1 or 2 and it's new from Amazon, I have a replacement coming but is it the servo or transmitter that is faulty?
Def servo.
@@TheLEDwheel thank you!!!!
Very informative, saved this video! I got a trx4 defender 2 months ago and my transmitter/radio won't turn on. Has brand new batteries (IV tested all 4 batteries) and have opened the radio to see if any wires were.lose but it all looks fine. Anything I should check for?
First I would contact traxxas for customer service. Other than that if power gets to the main board and it does not power up it could be the voltage regulator but i have no idea how its setup or what it looks like.
I just got a mini esc a 20 A esc from gearbest and i mounted it and everything worked fine but after i turned it off and onn i only have steering. I don't know what happened. Everything is good i tested it with more receivera and transmitters and nothibg happens. I think it s the esc but how could be that posible... It's completely new... I got it today... Any tips?
Cristian Stefan cheap esc?
Yes i buyed it for 5 dolars
I think it s done... I ll have to buy another one. The thing is i ll have to wait another 20 days... Oh man this suks
Cristian Stefan very well could be crap. Get your money back and get a hobbywing 1060
TheLEDwheel okey thanks for the info but where can i buy that esc? Any link to any online shop?
Very good video, I have an xmaxx and long story short, i have steering but as soon as i touch the throttle in either direction, the esc completely shuts off , no flashing lights just shut down and it will turn on again and stay on until you touch that throttle. I tried your suggestion and swapped receivers with a Tmaxx and steering still works in either channel. Now I’m thinking motor, take to hobby shop, tested it and works. So if the esc is dead, why no error flashes. ?
Electronics can fail in so many ways. Its possible that activating the throttle completely shorts out the esc's systems and then it resets somehow. You took the motor to be tested, why didn't you do the same with the esc?
Thanks for the good tips but I've been having a problem my rc truck cuts out going up a jump and when back on the ground it works fine on full throttle I'm so confused by it .
zeus m84 place the RC on something off of its 4 wheels and remove the cover. Hit the throttle and play with your wiring to see if it's ok. My first impression is a loose connection.
TheLEDwheel thanks so much I have a glitch buster capacitor coming too, I feel like it's a servo /bec problem I had this happen really bad on a truck and changed the servo and it fixed itself. Thank you for the advise it's all starting to make sense now. I will do what you suggest sir keep up the good work .
Hey there I have a 450 heli,my problem is my heli was flying and now at idle up it's fine until I try lifting off the power dies. And when I bring throttle stick down and up again it works until lift off again shutting down. Please help thanks.
Battery charged.. have a tester to check it?
I built my losi 8ight e to go 100 mph. I use a 6s battery..i have 2 batteries i swith between.. now all the sudden it wont go over 80mph on either battery..i checked for anything binding. Bearings etc. It hauls ass up to 80 mph..it used to always go over 95 mph one either of the 2 batteries..any ideas?
Hi. Mine is less sophisticated problem. My RC batmobile made by air hogs is stuck at going forward with horrible buzzing sound. How can I fix it? Your advise would be so helpful.
Unfortunately toy grade RC's are not as easy to diagnose. I do not know the electronics in this one but as far as Toy Grade goes I usually upgrade them to Better electronics. This may or may not be worth it.
I have a problem with my Baja nitro 1/5 scale when I turn right it goes left and today I just bought a brand new steering box thing whateve I just need some kind of help
Check your transmitter for reversing the servo direction. Should be channel 1 for steering.
I have a fast lane R.C Hennessey venom gt. Have a similar issue. The throttle (back wheels don’t turn) doesn’t work. It just produces a ticking sound. The front wheel turns, the lights and beep sounds work. Any ideas on what the issue could be?
Hmmmm, the issue with these entry level or toy grade RC's is most times the electronics are one board and not modular like hobby grade versions. I can only assume that the speed control section of the RC board is defective. I dont know if you can get parts for it or how long you had it for. If not long i would contact the seller or manufacturer for repairs or refund. Otherwise you may be able to upgrade it to hobbygrade electronics but thats not always worthwhile.
K I have a weird problem or I’m dumb. Got a new transmitter/receiver FS-GT3B and flysky waterproof receiver. Was driving it around and then stopped, turned my car off then my tx. Then I came back turned my tx on then my car. Nothing worked! (All in a time period of 5 minutes!) I noticed the was blinking a slow red? Got new receiver that didn’t work I know my motor/servo are good. What could be going on? Do I have some weird fail safe setting tripping? Batteries are fully charged?
Have you re binded?
Any idea what might be the problem when a servo is twitchy and won't respond as it should? For example if I try to turn left or right it will try to do so but then resets to center or just goes crazy twitching all over the place! Any idea at all what may be causing that?
Have you tried switching the esc and servo channels to see?
Hey cool video, you seem to know you stuff with Esc's and electronis. I was wondering if you could help me with my Esc issue. When I turn my rc on and give it throttle the engines just violently goes into forward and reverse back and forth rapidly. I tried it with a working engine out of another rc to make sure it wasn't the motor that was bad, and it was the same thing. give it throttle and the engine just goes forward and reverse back and forth super fast and violently and the wires on the esc heat up very quickly. Is this a dead esc? Thanks!
Have you tried re synching the esc with the radio? I have had an ESC lose its sync and did some weird stuff like that. If you can, connect the esc to a different receiver and/or try the radio set on another ESC.
I have a new transmitter receiver for my sail boat. New batteries checked.
The receiver red light comes on and off when I turn on the switch.
I have the correct connection into battery.
Could it be a bad receiver? Switch?
More details will be needed. However if the switch was faulty it would either be intermittent or not work at all. If you turn it on and play with the switch does the RX(Receiver) light flicker? Knowing what kit you have might help.
Ive got a volantex receiver, but its only got one slot wich is used for the servo, and the motor is soldered into the receiver by cables. But i will try to solder it again, it might been poorly soldered. But the problem is that when i pull the throttle the receiver keeps blinking and disconnectes
So its a combi ESC/receiver that's fine. Does it have a low voltage cutoff for LiPo batteries? Is the battery actually charged?
It didn't work for me but thank you so much for the information maybe I can use this information to fix my RC using a different method
What's your issue?
When I turn on my actual rc car it moves an inch and makes a small sound then it just idles and I can't even use the remote even tho I just put new batteries and my car is charged ☹️
What's the RC and what electronics are in it?
@@TheLEDwheel it's a drift rc car and can I send u a pic of it
In my case one channel , my right aileron, was not operating but the left one was normal. so i switched positions on the receiver and the right one worked, but the left did not. ….so this would indicate the receiver and servos are ok. So this is a tx setting problem ? if so what am i missing ?
@KenastonKid could still be the rc or TX. Only way to rule that out is another TX or rx to test with.
My esc does not beep when it turns on but has a light and my steering works but throttle doesn't work when I press throttle theres a red light any suggestions?
What esc ? Have you tried reprogramming it.?
It's a arrma typhon mega 4x4
The esc and motor are brushed
Check your manual for recalibration of the ESC.
Ok
I have an Across Rockclimber when I play with it for it for few seconds it works fine but after that the motor disconnects and only the steering works. Any advise is it a radio issue ??
I think that it could be either the ESC is overheating or the LiPo cutoff is kicking in. Make sure the battery is actually charged(not just the light going out in the charger) and when you try to use it and it cuts off, check if the ESC and motor are hot. Like almost can't touch it hot.
@@TheLEDwheel thanks I shall try
mine dont work i buy flysky gt2e reciever and transmitter brand knew i try to conect servo to reciever and it didnt respond at all on the transmitter even it is already bind red light are stable on reciever and transmitter. dont know whats the problem please help. thanks
chris reyes it never worked since you purchased it?
Did you make that flow chart? Great video! Here is my issue. I have power, lights work, turning front and back works, dig works. Everything but revers works. I took the transmission apart, from the driveshafts down. Both sets of trucks are smooth to the turn. I don’t really know what’s up with motors but this one when I took it apart was running without a second connection to the shaft of the motor internally. It was getting so hot this way that it set some leaves 🍁 in the chassis to smoking. Any idea what could have coursed this motor to stop reversing? Could this be my motor control or remote not sending revers signal?
Not sure i understand the issue. Every rotates fine without the motor in? Tried another motor? Gets hot when you try to reverse or forward as well?
theLEDwheel it seemed to me like the motor took a slam. Just went down to the shop to test the revers function on the remote. It now works in both directions but one direction has limited function still. Amazingly fast reply btw. 👍
Seems to have been a transmitter problem. Programming issue or something of the like. I’m really confused now. Thanks for being around! Great video. Definitely subscribed.
Ok what if your ESC does not respond unless re "binding" the remote every time you turn you car on?? I have a hpi savage xl and I fixed a couple things then after putting it back together I turn it on, no beeps from the ESC.... Turn the remote off and hold the bind button and turn it back on it then beeps. Wait 2 or 3 minutes it works?
I've had a receiver do this. I needed to rebind it every time. It still worked well, but I ended up changing the radio set completely as the receiver in question was no longer available.
Hello and thanks for the advices, I have a maverick strada mt brushless, it started doing some crazy shit today. I drove it for about 15 minutes on 3s and the motor got so hot that it started smelling, although I didn't push it. I tried it again after a few hours and it does the craziest thing: if I hold it up, it accelerates and everything. If I put it down, it stalls and barely moves. What do you think it could be? Thanks in advance
That's either your motor or ESC. You have to test your motor on another ESC.
@@TheLEDwheel thank you for the quick response. Can it really be the motor if it turns like hell when I hold the car in the air?
Yes but it can also be the ESC. So either testing your ESC with another motor or testing your motor with another ESC is gonna answer your question.
@@TheLEDwheelI'm gonna try to find a way, even though I don't have access to neither of them. Thank you again
Very interesting.. so question what when my rc hits a bump or takes a small jump it shuts off. What could cause that?
Mynfirst thought is a bad connection. Check to make sure your connections are making proper contact.
The issue im having is intermittent reverse i have slide adjustment if i go full reverse on the slide i can get it to work but it doesnt work for long? Any ideas?
Have you tried another ESC?
My Losi night crawler is only turning some times and seems like it has no power like when I trie to climb something it just don’t got the power to do it then my dads goes forward but not backword and when it even touches somthing it can’t go up it
What if I tryed a new battery but the new motor still won’t turn but the wax is getting signal from the controller
While playing with my rc the engine exploded and i replaced it (steering one) the back engine was working but i cannot turn my vehicle and on my circuit board thats something with 3 connectors and black that has been burned . Any tips
OK for starters it might be a good idea to learn what the parts are called. otherwise it makes it difficult to know exactly what you are talking about.
The steering part you are referring too is called a "Servo"
As for the rest of your problem you will need to be more specific and maybe come to my facebook group to post clear pictures of what you are talking about with your explanation. Maybe even a video.

What model ESC? Dynamite what?
I really appreciate the upload and the breakdown thank you. However my issue is similar to the third problem you were discussing in the end there where you have power to the ESC but you do not have power to the receiver. I have two new receivers and tried them both and for some reason I cannot get power to go to the receiver yet the ESC lights up. So I was wondering with a multi meter if there is a way to check power coming out of those wires specifically.
Yes if you have a Multimeter you can checkbthe voltage at the usually red and black wires. There should be some exposed metal on the connector where you can place the probes. Voltage in most cases is between 5 and 6 volts.
@@TheLEDwheel you got a new sub. Really appreciate that & I’ll go try that. THANKS!
@@ColinDresser so whats the result of your test?
@@TheLEDwheel I have a terrible RUclips channel that’s not really worth mentioning but I broke it down there. It comes down to my ESC. I’m considering just replacing it All together with an upgraded one but I emailed the company to see if I can have them warranty mine out 1st. I purchased a new receiver because the LED was not lighting up and I wasn’t sure if the smaller receiver from flysky was even compatible with the Krayton 6S so I bought a new bigger sized one since they were only $30 and tried it yesterday. Soon as I got the new receiver & plugged it in the LED light started working so I thought to myself great! it was the receiver the whole time. Tried to bind the vehicle to the remote and could not, then I thought to myself well let’s plug the old receiver back in and see if we can get the LED working on that again and sure enough the old one started working again and it was just fine but I was unable to bind that one either. So I’ve narrowed it down to the ESC which is steady flashing it’s red light at me not allowing me to bind. Frustrating after two months of having the vehicle I’m currently researching to see if there’s any hard resets or something that I can do to try and just reset it myself because I really don’t want to buy another ESC but will if I have to. Thanks for the follow up! If you got any ideas I’d be all ears. Peace ✌️
Hi there. What components should I buy for me to test my rc? I think I have the same problem. I didn't remove the Batteries and I forgot to turn it off. It was ON maybe for 2 weeks. What rc and components?
@@TheLEDwheel just an affordable one. New bright. :)

Just had this problem last night. Pro Boat Stealthwake throttle just stopped operating. I checked battery power, connections, switched the channel connections and steering works, but motor wont turn shaft. Do you believe it's the esc receiver?

@@TheLEDwheel Thank you. Good video. I liked and subscribed. I will try that.
I recently replaced motor, esc, controller and receiver on my rc. The motor goes faster forward and slower on reverse, any idea what it could be?
Most likely your esc needs to be adjusted. Check your manual.
@@TheLEDwheel it adjusts automatically, it's a hobbywing quicrun 1060 brushed esc. And the transmitter is a austar ax5s.
Just clicked... motor timing. If its advanced it will be slower in reverse.
Great video! Have a question. I own L3020 receiver and when i power on, it binds and stays on. When i use servo, it works. When i press the controller gently it moves the motor, but when i go full throttle or go backwards the light on the receiver goes out. No power. I have to switch off/on and there is the same. Any ideas? Any hints?
Could be the BEC in your ESC is defective. Do you have an external BEC you can try?
Or you may need a glitch buster.
This model l3020 has integrated esc so I guess that i might need to exchange the whole thing?
Quite possibly.
Thanks for quick responses, would You advise on getting a better receiver with extenal ecs and bce?
Do you know where I could get wiring diagrams for a vintage radio shack rock runner?
Oh boy, sorry no I do not. Check vintage RC forums and Facebook maybe.

Hey,
I have a 1:12 scale and it came with a 650 mah battery. It runs for two minutes and then shuts down under full throttle. Servo is still working but it dosn't drive. Could the battery just be to small?
Depending on what type of RC it is, 650mah is pretty small for a 1/12 scale. What RC is it exactly?
A carson mountain warrior Sport. It has a 380 motor
Says running time 30 minutes. Either your battery is finished or the charger is not properly charging it.
Okay. Thanks a lot for the fast help!
Hi great video! Im having trouble with my rc car. Everything is working but i only get 5 minutes run time out of my lipo´s. I have the jlb j3speed ATR so i put my own electronics in which are a racerstar 120A esc and 3670 2650kv brushless motor, a power hd 20kg steering servo. I use floureon 3s 4500mah 30c batteries which i have 4 of them. So my batteries aren't lasting very long at all and get really hot and will puff up quite a bit. Is something drawing too much voltage or amp´s from the battery? I use a heatsink with a fan on it for the motor and have also swapped out the esc and motor to see if it was that but with the same results :-(
Rc Immortals does your motor and ESC get really hot?
Rc Immortals does your drive train spin freely without a motor in it?
TheLEDwheel Motor and esc temps are fine and yes everything spins freely
Rc Immortals could be the batteries are crap. Possibly not really rated as written on the pack.
TheLEDwheel Thanks, it just might be.
hi sir. can we use the difrent model receiver to difrent model transmitter like skyfly receiver and Eximitter transmitter .??
Generally you can't mix brands.
I put the steering on channel 2 and my throttle turns the wheels but my wheel on the radio doesn’t turn it does that mean my radio has a problem aswell cause the only channel that works is 2
Now you need to try a known good Receiver to determine if its the transmitter or the receiver. Or, a know good transmitter.
Hi, is it possible to disable the beeping sound when accelerating or decelerating?
On what rc? What equipment.. ESC, Motor?
i hope you can help, my motor wont move, all my channels work, there is a light that indicates there is power going to the motor( ive tried two motors) , my servo moves, but i dont get any movement from the motor. what do i do?
Make sure the battery is charged. Connect a motor direct to a battery (make sure you dont short the battery) to confirm it works.
From your message it could be one of 2 things. Faulty esc or lipo cutoff.

@@TheLEDwheel Have you done any wiring of vintage battery operated toys? I need some advice on how to hook up wires in the toy I have.
@@Superdoc7 not sure that would help. Toygrade electronics can differ greatly from one to the other unlike hobby grade setups that have common interchangeable systems.
Hi! I have ofna nitro that I keep losing throttle control. If I turn car off and on it comes right back. Do you have any advice. I’m desperate.
Sounds like a failsafe. Is your receiver battery charged or has fresh batteries?
theLEDwheel yes batteries are good. Sometimes I thought it was caused by hitting bump but today it kept happening when I came to a stop
Or even your transmitter batteries
I’m not sure if I can get a replacement receiver since it’s an older model. Ofna ultra buggy circa 98
Hi i hava hpi trophy flux when i turn it on esc turns on but steering and throttle does not work i have tried swapping the chanel on the reciever but it still doesnt work plz can you guide me and thankyou in advance.
Hi, my first thought is that your ESC is not sending power to your receiver. Best way to check is with a multimeter by verifying the voltage at the connector from the esc. Or if you have a 4 "AA" battery tray you can connect it to the + and - (usually red and black respectively) on the receiver. Also if you have another receiver or can borrow one just to test the output of the esc as well.
I have a problem with my RC CAR, I can steer but the motor does not work, it starts freaking out like it has another frequency. Does anyone know what is the problem
Hi, i have the same issue as im the video, but channel 2 doesn't respond it was working before, so is tgere any chance i can use the same reciever without replacing, meaning : can i solve the issue without buying a another receiver
Tks
Have you officially determined if its the transmitter or the receiver?
@@TheLEDwheel it's the reciever, because Chanel 1 and 3 is working.
And it's a new radio didn't use much
Unless your radio is programmable and you can tell channel 3 to copy channel 2 you will need a new receiver.
@@TheLEDwheel thanks for the message, I'll try it check, cheers 🙏
this helped my sun
My quadcopter motors run in different speed... i calibrate my esc...
I use arduino uno and esc30A???
Plz help me????
Are they all free spinning by hand.
Hobbywing 10dl120 working fin with a fan with a 3s battery whill driving it there was no respond but the fan keep on working
change to a diffrent esc and it all work but the fan keep working even when the switch is off
any clew?
A little confused..
@@TheLEDwheel any more info you need?
i do have a program car but it wont work after the esc have no respond
So when you plug the battery in the fan starts going without turning on the power?
@@TheLEDwheel yes when i turn the power on the esc light start
It turns on but does nothing?
Thanks for the video. How do I know if I have a bad ESC? Mine went through some snow, dried everything out and I don't get the normal loud audible sound from the ESC, very low/distorted sound, and the vehicle motor stopped working. The steering works. The ESC lights work with forward/reverse and I used volt meter to test the leads going to the motor and I get over 8 volts forward/reverse. I apply separate power to the motor only and nothing. So I think I have a bad motor and possibly a bad or damaged ESC. Thoughts? This is for a Arrma Granite 550 entry level stock rc truck, purchased in June of this year. Thanks for any feedback.
So you connected the battery directly to the motor?
@@TheLEDwheel I used a AA battery, then a 9 volt battery and then yes the rc truck battery direct, no movement/sound, nothing. I'm very new to this hobby. Thanks for the quick response and for any helpful feedback.
If you hold both rear wheels and try to turn them together will they rotate and spin the motor?
@@TheLEDwheel Yes, it turns all 4 wheels and the motor spins, I did notice one of the plastic fins looks distorted, maybe slightly melted, I know this motor gets really hot normally.
Does the motor smell bad. Like burnt electrical wires?
Great info, you've gotten my subscription! Do you have any knowledge to share regarding safe amp draw from receivers? I'm looking at adding some rather powerful leds to the 3rd channel and concerned about straining the receiver. I can't find anything online regarding this topic and have just emailed Spektrum for info. as they only talk volts in their literature.
For your power going through the RX.... While the power will be taken from the Rx's connections, the power distribution is the same across all the channels. They are connected in parallel and anything drawn from there is exactly like taking it directly from the ESC. So what ever your ESC is capable of is your max current and limited only by the connection contact surface which can handle way more power than the ESC puts out. If you intend to surpass the ESC's given current limits you could always use an adjustable 10 amp Castle BEC
@@TheLEDwheel I really appreciate the reply, thank you as I wasn't coming across this information anywhere. That makes sense. It's a newer 3S capable esc with integrated BEC rated at 4 amp so my LEDs with 1 amp draw should be just fine. Looking forward to checking out your library of videos!
So my motor doesn’t move but makes a beeping sound. I checked again with a different motor with the same outcome. I’ve tried the motor on different channels with the same outcome. I have tried the servo which works well. I’m a little stuck because I’m new at this and don’t have anyone that I know with gear. Any help would be awesome, thank you!
Have you programmed the esc? As in program it to the transmitter functions. What rc and electronics is it?
theLEDwheel I didn’t know you had to program the ESC? It’s a cheap RC - WPL C14 with a cheap ESC from Banggood..
Some peogram them selves, other you must program. You need to check the manual
Is there a way to troubleshoot a receiver stand alone using a voltmeter? Where does the receiver get it's power from? The esc? I get low voltage 0.4 v . What are the color code of the wires?
Yes there is, Generally the Darker colours indicate negative and Red or orange for positive. Most of the time its either Red and Black together or Orange and Brown. Yellow and white tend to be the data or signal. Most of the time the receiver will get its power from the ESC so if it is not giving out at least 5 volts it may be defective.
I made a 2nd part for using a multimeter and other tests to help diagnose these issues.
