    Ls7 pilot bearing will sit in that first groove on the crank. Gives better seating to the input shaft.

    I want one of these older units for my planned Miata setup. Compact as possible. T56/6060 is such a ridiculous unit for that car. My Challenger is 4000lbs and it fits that car well haha

    What has to be done about any wiring that had to be plugged into the original transmission? I’m guessing it was an automatic?

    using that setup 1/3 of the front side of the disc is not contacting the flywheel

      Nick Chambers I got the Sachs 1050 flywheel off eBay cheapest I could find then the 12” pressure plate and clutch for an 84 GMC k2500

    I picked up a 73 K5 Blazer that had a 350 with a 4speed manual trans. My question is can I keep the 4speed manual and use it on the 5.3 ls that will go in the blazer ?

    Good video. I’ve got a 6.0 that I want to bolt a Saginaw up to. I’ve got an aftermarket steel scatter shield instead of the old factory aluminum bell housing. I’m wondering is that flywheel and clutch will clear. Anyone know?

      No, I just spent 4 months trying to find one, 81-85 sm465 bells work, or some anyways, look for one with 6 mount holes in it, the later hydraulic ones have dual patter holes as well, I went non hydraulic though

    did u use silicone on flywheel bolts as they are drilled into engine cavity on LS crankshaft....what about ring gear size for LS starter? so can i use the flywheel off my inline 6 250ci and buy like centerforce HD pressure plate n disc

      I used locktite on the bolts. 4.8 flywheel, clutch and preasure plate from an early 80s gmc 6.2 diesel truck. The contact patch of the clutch disc is a little bigger than the one on the flywheel. There is about a half inch unused in the center. Might not be the proper setup but thats what i used and its been working so far.

    I know it's an old video, but I wanted to know how you set up your Z-bar with headers, or what headers you used. I'm trying to find a set of headers that give me room to run the mechanical setup. But I'm having a little trouble,I'm trying to find a set of headers that give me room to run the mechanical clutch. But I'm having a little trouble,This is in a 69 Firebird.

      I converted to a hydraulic slave. As for headers, just factory 5.3 manifolds flipped upside down and backwards. Merged them into a Y and exited passenger side of engine

    I am using LQ4 6.0 LS with a SM465 with setup. Going into a 1970 C10. Which pivot clutch bracket are you using or is the a video. I have found two from SDPC part SDCB or SDCBV?
    Which of the two brackets?

    So I have a 66 c10 with a 4 speed tru ck trans... you are basically saying you took parts for an 84 and bolted them on... so if I had a 5.3ls I could use my clutch pressure plate and all just bolt it in, connect my cables and run with a carb intake for ls... correct?

      Used a 4.8 flywheel. The clutch is from a mid 80s truck. I used a hydraulic internal slave cylinder from speedway motors. The flywheel and clutch disc do not fit perfectly. There is about half inch of disc that doesnt contact the flywheel.

      I had to rework the tunnel a bit for the shifter box. I dont see why it wouldnt work behind a 6.0

      It's a np 440 to the best of my knowledge. Came out of and early 80s chevy diesel. Not sure if its a big or small block bellhousing.

      Big blocks and small blocks have the same size bell housings

      there are 2 different size bellhousings due to clutch size;
      10 inch & 11 inch use the small, 12 inch uses the big one, but the bolt patterns are the same.
      It's an internal difference.

    all i ever herd was that other that the first year or so of 4.8 n 6.0 the crankshaft is 40 thousands shorter i do have the spacer in my tool box if i need it...any thoughts man ???

      BoostMonger I’m going to use the center exit block hugger tight fit headers from speedway motors and my linkage ball is on the bell housing instead of the block but they make a bracket for the absence of the ball on the block

      GM 1 1/8 inch 10 spline clutches came in ALOT of vehicles. From the 1940s to the 2,000s

      @@Boostmonger_Jon for now I have not swapped the LS into it yet. The 250 inline 6 on it is up to 80 miles on the track. It is a slow transmission but will use it on my LS as a cruiser anyways. Very low maintenance transmission. I have a rebuild costing $300.00 only VS thr T56.

    Maybe it's a big deal because you have to raise the front of the engine while someone pushes the tail of the transmission down so you can shoe horn it down in the engine bay...
