- Country music artist Crystal Gayle took this song to #8 on the Country Music chart in 1980, and to #16 on the Adult Contemporary chart. "The Blue Side" also crossed over to the Pop chart, peaking at #81 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. I really liked this song when it came out, as the piano style echoed her 1977 hit, "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue" and I was disappointed by its chart placing, making it another of those singles that I thought deserved to be a bigger hit.

Ever heard of, “Eat Your Heart Out” by Xavion? And, “National City” by The Joiner, Arkansas Junior High School Band and, “Dawn of Correction” by The Spokesmen? The final song is an “answer record” to Barry McGuire’s No. 1 smash hit, “Eve of Destruction”.
Not familiar with those songs by Xavion or the Spokesmen; I've heard of "National City" years ago, and they weren't a real High School Band.
