in philippines, we call those plastic balloons. these are usually the toys kids play after school. they we're even selling these near schools to get the attention of kids

Those are commonly called ‘plastic balloons’ in the Philippines. Bloonies in the US amongst other generic name(s). They are plentiful and cheap which kids (and kids minded ofc) finds irresistible. They have a very unique scent to em as well, an unpleasant chemical scent. And ofc a specific chemical taste. For me it kinda taste like a diluted acetone mixed with other chemicals. I remember back in the early 90’s when they were almost colourless, but as time goes by, they became more and more colourful
