I have a 201I Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Summit with 126k in Very good condition and wanted to thank you for taking the time to make this video 📹 You probably have already saved tens of thousands of dollars of victims who would have had their transfer cases replaced needlessly. I'm 63 and disabled and now money is a critical factor in day to day living as with many of us today, so this was an absolute Godsend! ✨️ $110 from Amazon overnight free shipping, and I even did it myself, which was a feat in itself using a walker but withing 15 mins I had the battery reconnected and the new module in and it all buttoned up and instantly all the clicking noises were gone the sluggish shifting and steering all of it was completely gone! I can not thank you enough for sharing that advice. After reading the comments for $100 and Amazon accepting the return, if it didn't work, it was a no-brainer. If only every repair could we get off that lucky. Thank You again 👍
Thanks for a great video. I have the exact same problems and the Stealership wants to replace the entire Transfer Case and charge me $6000 CAD. I've ordered one. Edit. More than a month later and my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee is still going strong without any issues.
Same thing happened to me, $6k for a t-case and module and that did not fix the problem. The message and indicator light will come on every 3 months or so. Dealership says no code, they can't fix it.
So thankful to my fellow Jeep grand Cherokee fam, for sharing these common issues with simple fixes. The dealerships are true ripoff artists, when they don’t even mention anything about the module. They insisted it was the entire transfer case/transmission that needed replacing, and quoted $4-5000🤨 Lesson learned. Always look for a second opinion. Thank you Jeep fam🙏
Same issue. Quote today $4,000 for a new transfer case. Even ask them about replacing this part and no response. Ordered the part off Amazon and will let you all know.
GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER I was told it’s rear diff but I found your video and changed the module and all issues just gone. Thank you 🙏 you saved me a lot of money and stress.
This is what my 2014 Jeep grand Cherokee sport is doing.Dealer wants a bunch of money and then says might need transmission.I have it at a transmission shop now checking it out ,free diagnostics test and I’ll see what they say…helpful video
The Serv 4WD light kept popping up when starting the car (2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited) and noise near driver side. Shopped around by calling local dealers for the Transfer Case Control Module. Fist dealership wanted $511 and the second $270 plus tax, so shop around! Issues seems to be resolved and the Jeep has been drivimg well last two weeks. Thanks for the video!!
You described the exact same problem I had. 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I ordered the part you recommended on Amazon. Problem solved 💯. Thank You.
Literal fucking legend, thank you for this video. Literally JUST bought a used 2015 jeep grand cherokee and 2 days later it started doing this, so glad its a cheap and easy repair
Like you I believe, mine makes a slight rumble when sharp turning into the driveway for example. Then today on the Highway hitting 60mph it started to shake and the "Service 4x4" message came on. I thought it was/is because I was maybe low on tranny fluid. But after seeing your video.. hope this is it.. gonna try it - thanks for the link. When you said it would cost that much for a diagnosis, that made all the sense to me to try this because your right. Will let you know soon hopefully. Nice short video. thank you!
ok.. So .. guess what ... that's right.. I changed the Module and everything went away. !!!!!!! yeahhhhaaaa The rumbling at 60mph stopped and the small jolt when turning stopped !!!! it's been about a week now and yeah that did it. Add me to the list of people who need to buy you dinner ! You saved me potentially big bucks.. I don't think a dealer would let anyone off so easy. thanks to you ! hurray !!
My next project is a tranny fluid exchange at a place that swaps some of the fluid, near me I believe Jiffy Lube does it. Yeah not the same or as much swap but I can't get under to try it myself. I just have to 100% make sure, they follow the correct procedure. Any thoughts on this ? I'd be happy with up to 4 quarts swapped out.
Omg man i wished I saw your video earlier. I have the exact same issue, a shop just charged me 4000 CAN to change my transfer case, and now it's worse than before, thr 4wd is engaged all the time to the point where the vehicle almost can't turn a corner. They are now saying the transfer case motor is damaged and this I believe is damage they did as this was not the case before. Still hearing that noise.clicking noise so I might have to change that module now anyways after being out of pocket almost 5k.
Hi Mate - great video and explanations - i am getting the message on 4WD service on my Jeep GC 2015 V8. Any suggestion on how to fix this without going into expensive dealer? What i have done so far: Scanning shows DTMC C1403-92 and ABS U0403-00. Removed battery for 5 - 10 minutes Removed Transfer Case Control Module under the driver seat and placed it back for any lose connections. Added Transmission Fluid at 100K, now the jeep is 120K, issue started now at around 120K. Should i need to fix in following order: Change Differential Fluid? 75w85? Change Transfer Case Fluid? ATF+4? Change the Transfer Case Control Module itself? (under driver seat)? Check wheel sensor? ..... What would be the best sequence to troubleshoot? Did you just changed the Transfer Case Control Module an it solved for you? really appreciate your suggestion mate.
Hello, great video! I just wanted to follow up with you since its been about a year since the fix. any issue with the replacement part from amazon? is it still holding strong?
I'm dealing with this issue now! But When my service 4x4comes on I can't drive at al , because I have the electronic shifter that says it’s already in gear. I disconnect the battery for a bit and it resets. I changed this part but it didn't fix it. I took it to the dealership a month ago and they replaced the transfer case positioning sensor. It’s still showing the service four-wheel-drive. I took it back to the dealer today and they’re saying I need a new transmission!! No I don't The car drives perfectly fine until this little 4 x 4 air comes up and it won't go Into gear!
Hii I’m a Lady and I want to do this myself because I’m having this problem. Can someone help with what part to buy for 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 3.6 please
just bought a 2014 srt jeep and it has that noise dealership said it was transfer case ! as well get a light about 4wd, dealership told me they’ll pay labor cost if i buy transfer case !
Hey i have same problem and i live in Australia. It will take 2 weeks to get this part in australia. Question is can i drive my car for next two weeks until i get this part.
My wife drove for about a week with the problem and it didn't get worse. I don't think it did any permanent damage, other than I suspect it puts extra wear on the transfer case clutch.
I had the same - no service 4WD light, just the tell tale clicking when shifting between gears while stopped (~5 seconds each time I selected a different gear). I also had what felt like slipping between the 1> 2 shift. TCCM fixed mine. 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 75,000 miles on it.
Wow thanks this was the video i needed I'm having same issue. Quick question within a week ive put $70 in gas tank and it has a gas smell and white smoke from pipe any ideas?
White smoke in the exhaust usually indicates that it is burning coolant. I would suggest checking your radiator coolant level and monitor it. If it is low and getting lower, you're burning it. Could be a head gasket issue, or something else depending on the engine you have.
Have you had any issues since the install with buying it from Amazon? Dealership is trying to sell me an OEM one for $600+. Id like to stick with OEM but the difference of $500 is pretty significant.
@@JeremyinCars that’s outstanding! I have a clicking noise when I come to a stop, feels like three clunks coming from middle of vehicle when accelerating from a stop shifting from first to second, the service 4WD light, and when turning the wheel and letting off the gas pedal it feels like binding and then the vehicle will jerk forward. I ordered the TCCM from mopar and crossing my fingers it helps my TC issue.
Installed the control module. It fixed all of the problems. Thanks for your video. I had a new encoder motor installed and new transfer case fluid put in too. Hoping this keeps the TC rock solid.
@Jeremyincars I have a Diesel jeep grand Cherokee that won't start as well. It clicks but wont turn over. I have tried various things like disconnecting the battery and getting jumped. I also have P1B13-00.....any suggestions?

That's awesome! It makes me feel good to know I could help.
I have exacly the same problem on my 2014
So thankful to my fellow Jeep grand Cherokee fam, for sharing these common issues with simple fixes.

Update! Got the part in and had it replaced in 5 minutes. FIXED IT!!! Thanks for the video! Saved me $3,900…. I owe you a steak dinner.
Part number?
How’s it holding up after 4 months?
I can't explain how happy I am to have come across this video. Saved me thousands!

Thank you! Replacing the module fixed all of the issues on a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Part for 2016 to 2018 Jeep GC is 68250124AD.
Like other guys on your page, words can't explain how happy I am that I came across this video. You just saved me about $800 bucks. Thank you so much.
Glad I could help!
It worked!!! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. My mechanic was talking about $1400. You saved me a lot of money.❤

My 2017 srt Jeep is doing this! Thanks for the video, the dealership will be fixing it for free! Since my transfer case was just fixed last year!! Smh

Quick question did you only disconnect the negative terminal on the battery or did you disconnect both negative then positive ?
The negative side of the battery is all that is necessary.
Link is not correct
Thank you for letting me know. I've fixed the link.
My vehicle has about every one of these symptom except the service four-wheel-drive light. Do you still it might be that module?
It could be. The service 4wd error didn't always come on. If you buy from Amazon, you should be able to return it easily.

About 2 months after install and no issues so far. Still working fine.
How's it the part and name of it so I can order having same issue with my 2011
Everything still working good?
Yes, it's still working great
I think I’m having the same problem
Did it affect your driving at all?
No effect on driving
What's the name of the part and price so I can order
Link already in the description of the video.
Did you have to program the TCCM? Or did it work right out of the box?
No programming needed, just plug it in and it works.

Any issues turning?
not after the fix
