This game is so fun and has so many hidden techniques. I wish someone would release an opensource engine for that game so that it plays smoothly than via DosBox and fans can release their own levels for it like we have for Mario World or at least like custom levels for Titus the Fox.
@@OCTAGRAM That's nice to hear. I hope that engine will support Prehistorik 2 eventually. Btw, I think Lagaf Les Aventures is a way better than Fox, I hope they'll support it as well. Edit: checked their repository, it's too old and looks abandoned.
@@j.h.6672 Developers are having fun with Prehistorik 3 aka Prehistorik Man on Nintendo consoles. First SNES and latest on 3DS. Considering obtaining 3DS XL. I guess, SNES emulation is more smooth, and there are save states
Well done! In fact, getting through this game without any damage is much more difficult than it may seem from watching this movie. Fun fact: - at 1:03:06 you can see the names of bosses that the developer of the game (Eric Zmiro - thank you for this awersome game!) did not like. He placed a skull and a bomb next to them. As you can see no one at the production stage caught on :) Tree-boss on level 6 can be defeated "easily" without the involvement of the RNG. There are (I think) only 2 initial states and by manipulating when we are performing our jumps we can defeat him before he hits the ground even once: ruclips.net/video/ORDeUygLNhE/видео.html
Thanks! Good catch on that part! If true, that would probably explain how Titus being known as the worst video game developing company still can make great games like this one. Apparently there are already rifts between the boss and employees way before Superman 64 comes out. Yeah, I didn't realize there are 2 stages of the boss until much later. You have to destroy the green things on its head before being able to damage its hands. Since the axe can't reach the head by throwing without jumping, you have to jump and hit it which is quite risky. And most people don't realize of the green things at the top and thus keep throwing the axe at the ground wondering why the boss can't be damaged. That's why I prefer to use the flying blade, since the blade flies upwards which can easily destroy the green things without needing to jump.
My childhood and I will always have a connection to this
