Thank you for posting. Yes to the bottle recommendations, please and thank you. I know so many people loved the Dr. Browns but those didn't work for my first and both my kiddos loved the Phillips Avent❤
And I feel the same for literally all of these no's! I was legitimately so overwhelmed by all the "lists" out there of what you need, etc. and I own a small home so I was like what are the bare minimum. 😅 I actually won a magic bullet and it is so much smaller than my blender and I do know how much of which items I am blending to add to that, but a baby specific one, nah.

Phillips Avent Natural are the only bottles my babe will take! They're not typically recommended for breastfed babies because they causs a shallow latch. I think same with Como Tomo

My kid took 1 week of Dr brown and then never took my nipple again 😢😢😢 she only fed directly for a week. Afterwards it was a few months of nipple shield followed by 6 months of pumping and bottle feeding, after which I finally was fed up and switched to formula. My supply was very good but baby never latched again.

@@cocomelon1396 If you plan to have another baby, most lactation consultants etc will tell you to wait 4-6 weeks to bottle feed to avoid "nipple confusion". Unfortunately they have to work much harder to get milk from the breast and some will end up preferring bottle because it's easier! That's so incredible you exclusively pumped as long as you did, I don't think I could've have made it that long before giving it up. You did amazing!

@@meowedith Thank you so much for the kind words. It was indeed difficult, and I should have been kinder to myself. I did learn from my mistakes when my second baby was born, and I exclusively breast fed her for 6+ months. Even when she needed extra feedings in her first week due to being underweight, I only used a syringe to give her pumped milk. It was such a healing period for my mental well being. I feel like I healed my own emotional scars which were there from the first time.

Those scent booster things in general are just a NO for me. Our homes are over-perfumed already. If you're worried about your clothes smelling musty then either you have too many clothes, so you're not wearing them in rotation; or you're storing them improperly or have an issue with your home (damp etc). If you've got things that go into seasonal storage, like ski wear or woollens, store them with cedar balls or lavender bags.

If you go find her video about the best bottles for breastfed babies she talks about why she doesn't like these ones. Basically it's because they don't really mimic the shape that the breast is in *when flattened in the baby's mouth*. It's hard for a baby to grab enough of the "areola" area with this silicone shape, and they are liable to just suck the "nipple" part like a straw. Instead she recommends bottles with a more gradual slope, where more of it can be held in the baby's mouth.

We have that xylophone. Our almost 3 year old will find anything to be loud with though, so at least she’s banging something appropriate.
Loved the sleep sock when she was an infant and plan to reuse for baby #2 due any day. Eased my anxiety so I wasn’t watching her sleep to make sure she was breathing.
Using the Ubbi pail again to. Contained the smell so we could keep the bin in the nursery. After a year and half of use, our original one started to smell, so I contacted customer service and they sent a new one which is the one going in #2’s nursery since our toddler is potty training.
I agree with the socks and mittens. We still use the electric baby nail file for our toddler and it was so so easy to use when she was an infant.

Full judgement with the alcohol strips, if you were able to go 9mo without drinking just continue to do so while breast feeding. 9mo is already a way longer gestation period than many other animals, elephants have us beat, they gestate for 18mo!! can you imagine if we also had to gestate for that long, would you break and start drinking at 9mo?? If you’re breastfeeding just don’t drink. If you have a hard time denying alcohol seek help, it shouldn’t be mentally challenging to just not drink.

Please don’t bother dropping $300-$350 on the owlett HR and O2 reader unless you’re like me and you’re a extremely high risk person and there is potential for your baby to be too or you know your baby is.
For me, I’m not pregnant at the moment but I’ve started my 3 year pregnancy plan it has to be this long as I’m on extremely high doses of fentanyl, OxyContin, and many non opioid medications and chemotherapy/immunotherapy so I need that time to reduce one by one with fentanyl and chemo/immunos being last.
I have been told these are essential for me along with a HR reader Doppler on my belly after 24-26 weeks due to my risk.
I have seizures, SCI, full GI organ failure, etc but I’m only 24 and getting married and want a kid! So for me, I want to try. If noise annoys you after a while, don’t have a child… toy or no toy they will be loud and “annoying” and you shouldn’t be feeling dread about that because it’s natural. This is a permanent life decision, having babies. Music toys are great for development and they’re just plain fun. Trust me either way you will be getting headaches raising little ones. @@natk1105 it’s not for a newborn… it’s for like anywhere from 4 months to 36 months. And I am judging people who think kids should be quiet. Because that mentality negatively impacts kids. It mentally isn’t good for people who get overwhelmed like that to expose themselves to the chaos of basically 24/7 noise. It’s good to reconsider your choice to have and raise children if you can’t stand loud chaotic noise. Parents lose it if they aren’t made for that lifestyle yet force it because it’s the next life step that society tells us to do. It’s not good for parent or child when parent feels like they’re losing their sanity. I’m being realistic about the nature of children here. If you aren’t cut out for one don’t plan for one. Of course surprises happen. It’s good for parents to be informed that with or without a music toy there will be loud constant noise in your house. It’s good for parents to be informed that music toys are great for child development (especially during the cause and effect stage that starts around 6 months to 14 months) so depriving them of music toys you have access to and can easily afford simply because you personally don’t like them is weird. I guess you don’t have to go with a xylophone! They make baby drums, baby guitars, etc. And once again the batteries can be removed for a day if it’s too much and it’s driving you crazy. It could definitely get to be too much especially if you are dealing with a lot at once, I’m not judging that. I literally know that it’s like. I also know we shouldn’t think our kids are annoying for smashing on xylophones. They’re not professional musicians it’s gonna sound awful. But that’s OKAY. It should be okay. I work with kids, I have reasonable high expectations for parents in these contexts (privileged parents, since not everyone can buy toys). Sorry not sorry.
