Is there anything you cannot make in iron? You are more than a blacksmith, Thorbjörn, you are an artist!

The single solitary "aww" after the grinder died is so easy to relate with.

Ya dewalt grinders seem to last me longer. It does suck when they smoke like that. You can try to have them repaired, but they can’t always be repaired.

I love your videos, I have watched you now for more than a year and I just love the simplicity, no loud annoying commentary, just making things and you show every step you take when forging and crafting. Not sure if your familiar with Primitive Technology you tube channel but you are the modern equivalent. Thank you for your time and effort you put into these videos.

I find it funny that I made a shoehorn for my dad for Father's day last weekend, using nothing but a paint-can propane forge, an anvil and a hammer.... And of course one of my favorite and inspirational blacksmiths comes out with a video showing me how a professional would do it....
Did I mention I made mine out of an old piece of rebar that a friend found in a yard? Detroit doesn't have much money....

Nice work in a small well equipped home shop. I grew up in an old steel fabricating shop of my grandfather's, we had master forgers working in the shop, no electrical equipment, the planishing hammer was another man, sometimes two of them. I never went really into it, rather worked my teen years on the old big lathe we had. There was a guy who controlled his smoking by lighting his cigarette by cold-forging a 12 mm round into a square long "needle" until the very end of it became red hot. It is extremely difficult to forge a round into a perfect square keeping it from turning into a romboid, especially by cold-forging. I thought you might interested to hear that. You are doing very good well thought out and we'll planned jobs. Congratulation. Old Bob

That’s a great idea having such a long handle on it, the only shoehorns I’ve seen in the past have been quite short, that long handle would be a great advantage. Now that I’m getting on a bit in years I sometimes could use a shoehorn like that to get my work boots on, might be my next project. Top job, yours looks great, Regards from down under.
