Is there anything you cannot make in iron? You are more than a blacksmith, Thorbjörn, you are an artist!
The single solitary "aww" after the grinder died is so easy to relate with.
Ya dewalt grinders seem to last me longer. It does suck when they smoke like that. You can try to have them repaired, but they can’t always be repaired.
I love your videos, I have watched you now for more than a year and I just love the simplicity, no loud annoying commentary, just making things and you show every step you take when forging and crafting. Not sure if your familiar with Primitive Technology you tube channel but you are the modern equivalent. Thank you for your time and effort you put into these videos.
letting the work speak for itself! very enjoyable!
Yes I know the PT channel :) Thanks!!
these are like therapy videos for me. The sounds are just the work he does, there's a simple beauty to witnessing it in its pure form like that. It's comforting and relaxing to listen to and watch.
Cool comment
Marshall has said exactly what I am not articulate enough to type! Your videos are both extremely informative and relaxing to watch......Like that Aussie guy on PT!! Excellent craftsmanship and craftsman's ethic.
Any time you are having a stressful day, just come watch Torbjorn's blacksmithing videos and you'll find peace :)
Great work as always, Torbjörn! And a pleasure to see you work.😊
Does anyone else find this calming and relaxing? Wish I could watch you create your work in person. So proud to be a subscriber.
Thank you!
I often watch before bed. I do find it relaxing.
You truly are an artist! Your items are always items I'd be proud to own! Thank you for your time and effort with the video. Thank you bro Anthony Kent
Now is the time to forge shoes ♥
LOL
Don’t think we could wear them.
He can probably make Swedish "Trä skor"!
Move over wood clogs..
to reach the water temple?
VERY clean forging! Great idea for next Father's Day. RIP, Grinder....you have served well.
:) Thanks!!
Torbjorn, I love watching you craft your projects. And the fact that you make it look so easy just tells me that you are a true professional and artist. Well done sir!!! Well done!
Beautiful shoe horn! Another angle grinder bites the dust ;-) I love your yellow roses, they are my favorites!
"Oh Oh" then "Awww" when the grinder died... LOL!
Amazing craftsmanship! well done! : )
Lovely job as always mate.
I am AMAZED at how well this was filmed and edited.
But I am FAR MORE amazed at what I've learned.
I'd like to say hello
from Melbourne Australia.
Thank you 😊
Wow, thank you, and hello!
A simple tool, fashioned into a piece of Artwork.
I find it funny that I made a shoehorn for my dad for Father's day last weekend, using nothing but a paint-can propane forge, an anvil and a hammer.... And of course one of my favorite and inspirational blacksmiths comes out with a video showing me how a professional would do it....
Did I mention I made mine out of an old piece of rebar that a friend found in a yard? Detroit doesn't have much money....
Cool! Keep it up!
The way of working is amazing!! Thanks for sharing ;-)
What I particularly like about your videos, is that you don't waffle a lot of self important crap; you just get on with it, and do, to my eyes, a damned brilliant job! You are a true craftsman. Thank you again for making these videos. If I had more money, I would support you on Patreon. One day.
Thank you!!
I like your way of doing it, it's great.
lovely being a king of your passion , so envious especially if you have tools in this COVID period
There is an old joke...
I love the work.
I am able to watch it looong hours. :)
But that is literally it about your videos, Torbjörn, they are simple, extremely educating, and addictive to watch. Thanks.
Awesome work and video!!
I wanna know who would give this a thumbs down???? That’s a beautiful piece of metalwork :)))))
Great work! Thank you for the video
I love this channel for so many reasons...
And instead of preparing to an exam I'm watching
Torbjörn...
Ouch... Exam first, watch youtube second!
Accuracy , Patience . Ideas above all experience .
Nice! I hadn't noticed the slight back angle of the horn before, but looking at my own heel, it makes a lot of sense.

Wow Torbjorn you did a Awesome Job on that ShoeHorn. You are a Amazing Blacksmith.
I am constantly amazed at your ability to not only create such incredible works, but to make the tools and dies required as well, and you make it look easy. I really want to hate you for being so talented, but i can't. I just hope it is the result of many years of hard work and you are not one of those people who can just do anything, then i would have to hate you,LOL
:) Thanks
Beautiful shoe horn and a wonderful reminder to us all take the time to stop and smell the roses
When ever I feel sad or lonely I binge watch ur videos and cuddle my dog 🐶 she’s a cavoodle and her name is Moët (pronounced mo-ee)

I know I’ll never own one of your works as they are one of a kind, simply amazing, smiths are the tradesmen that took us from the copper age to now, plastic & whatever. Keep on Trucking!

Superbe objet, magnifiquement réalisé ! Dommage pour la meuleuse.....Nouvel achat en perspective :)
Makes me miss my roses, I used to have 12 rose plants back at my old house. They don't grow too well where I moved.
A fine functional and elegant shoe horn, Torbjorn. Always learn something new in technique or tool forming or just the relaxation and perspective from your videos, plus the quality of videos gets better all the time. Thank You!
Thanks!
Nice work!!!!! Greetings from Athens,Greece!
You're good with wood but I prefer fire and steel. Great work Tobjorn.

Cher Ami, j’apprécie grandement tes vidéos, il y’a une grande sérénité qui entoure ta façon de faire...bravo encore!
Beautiful work. I think the regularity of the block barrelling tool marks really underlines your skill. Thanks for posting.
Totally impressed. So many techniques. A work of art.

Blacksmith is wonderful job . Super video .
For the first five minutes I was trying to figure out how you were going to make a shoehorn out of those two big blocks of steel :) Great job! I learn a lot from your videos.
:) Thanks!
Amazing craftsmanship as always! Thank You for sharing
Beautiful as always, TA.
Great video as always, i already watch out for the next. Thank you for shearing it with the otters. Great job!
This video was specially surprising to me at the end because I didn't knew what that "shoehorn" word meant (English is not my native language) hahaha. High quality stuff, thanks for share your creativity!
د کار په اړه مبارکۍ، دا د حیرانتیا کار ډیر ښه او پیسیسیسیا دی.
Nice work in a small well equipped home shop. I grew up in an old steel fabricating shop of my grandfather's, we had master forgers working in the shop, no electrical equipment, the planishing hammer was another man, sometimes two of them. I never went really into it, rather worked my teen years on the old big lathe we had. There was a guy who controlled his smoking by lighting his cigarette by cold-forging a 12 mm round into a square long "needle" until the very end of it became red hot. It is extremely difficult to forge a round into a perfect square keeping it from turning into a romboid, especially by cold-forging. I thought you might interested to hear that. You are doing very good well thought out and we'll planned jobs. Congratulation. Old Bob
Interesting!. Yes, I have seen the cold forging trick! Quite amazing. Thanks!
Beautiful work as always Torbjorn! The shoehorn that I made was...shall we say, much more utilitarian. Your's is a work of art! Thank you for sharing and inspiring!
:) Thanks!
i love the shape :) and the shiny finish, amazing piece of art !!!
Just plain old good work Brother. Thanks. Bob from Philly
Uploaded just in time to watch before work!
Oh no you let out the MAGIC smoke. Love the video.
Always take time to smell the roses. Your blacksmith helper with the dies is really nice! Also looks like you could make carving gouges about like this. Very interesting.
Always! :) Yes more or less the same process.
That’s a great idea having such a long handle on it, the only shoehorns I’ve seen in the past have been quite short, that long handle would be a great advantage. Now that I’m getting on a bit in years I sometimes could use a shoehorn like that to get my work boots on, might be my next project. Top job, yours looks great, Regards from down under.
Thank you for the tutorial
I has clarified some things for me. Great camera work.
Another awesome job
Man watching you work is amazing. You do different stuff that’s really fascinating it’s wonderful sir !!👍🏾
Thanks!
You have the most amazing greenhouse. I've been interested in vertical gardening for a while, but I live in an apartment.
A fantastic result as always, I really like your style. You are very talented, keep up the good work.
I made one outta PVC once but never thought about using metal.
Of course yours looks way better. Heirloom quality 👍
Great video 👍
Guess we know what you'll be asking Santa for! Excellent video!
Great project as always. You will come need that as time rolls on.
Very nice!
Your work is amazing!!!
A true artist!
What a great video, as all of your posts are. I am in awe of the precision with which you work.
Thank you!!
VERY nice... that shoehorn is at least be worth the pay if you sell it or woth the efford if it is for you own use. And I know... electric drives die always in the fire/at work. It simply has reached the point of no return. Thumbs up, man!
Thumbs up from this guy.
Ja det är förvirrande! när verktyget bryts i ett oupphörligt ögonblick18:20😊 verktyg för skor!!19:31👍👍👍Tack så mycket! Du har gyllene händer👍Billets från Damaskus...1:47
Smoke on a grinder, fire in the sky:). Exellent job, master!

Beautiful work!
That is something you would have never thought a Blacksmith would have made and I'm sure it's the only one on RUclips!! LOL
:)
