      he's played a professional sport that required basically the same thing as far as running with a ball. the whole "he's never played football before " is misleading

      +Ricky Howard he uses his skills he gained from league running with the ball. He's better at PR because the skills transfer better to that position. It's not alien to him to run and break tackles and step, he's done it his whole life and 9 years professionally.

      +JCJ I'm a Hayne supporter, and wish him great success.....but every back in the NFL wins 1 on 1 battles. If you can't win 1 on 1 battles consistently....you get cut, or become a fullback. It's not special in the NFL. It's not even 50/50. Backs who can't consistently shake or juke a defender one on one don't exist in the NFL.

      Dane Potmo I mean even when he has no momentum going forward just straight up skips around them un touched, he did it in pre season and on that reception he had in this game

      +--〈〈=ROOST=〉〉-- im not so sure, i watch 11 games this week, it didn't happen as much as these posts seem to imply. Hayne is going to be good, he is learning VERY fast. That dropped punt was literally the first mistake in 5 games.

      +Creature Coby only had 4 carries, got 9 yards on one, 7 of them after contact. Not bad. Can't expect the guy to be going to the probowl in his FIRST ever pro game.

    • @konoko196
      @konoko196 9 лет назад

      +Peter Nguyen Goes to show how little the coaching staff trust him , Bush got more carries in the limited time he was on in the 1st quarter as the no.2 RB than Hayne did across 3 quarters! I think they'll use Davis as the no.2 RB if Bush is out and Ellington to return both KR/PR, not sure where Hayne is going to fit in now after that shaky game 1.

    • @stinger15au
      @stinger15au 9 лет назад +3

      +Josh Dugan one mistake in 5 games is not going to cost him the spot. if that was the case the team would bench half the team every game.

    • @Damithinkimlost
      @Damithinkimlost 9 лет назад

      +Aaron Ray i can name a few off the top of my head lets say browns, jags, raiders, texans, vikings, bears, or panthers. 49ers may not be a powerhouse anymore but they are far from being the worst in the league. they didnt look too shabby at all against the vikings. the defense played very well considering all the players they lost. and carlos hyde is proving hes a worthy replacement of gore and even kaepernick looked better this game than he did all last season. dont count the 9ers out yet.

    • @KushDawg8892
      @KushDawg8892 9 лет назад

      +Iron Batman lol. You don't know much about Houston football, do you? The Texans wouldn't "die" to have the 49ers roster. Our starters shut down the 9ers starters in the pre season just a couple of weeks ago. You might wanna take a glance at another teams roster before you make a statement like that.

    • @NarutoMasterXt
      @NarutoMasterXt 9 лет назад

      definitely agree with the raiders and jags but that's it. 49ers have a lot of pieces missing. They would "die" for the browns secondary. They would "die" for the panthers front 7.

    • @Damithinkimlost
      @Damithinkimlost 9 лет назад

      the only guy i would die to have on the texans is jj watt and brian cushing. as a team the 9ers have a better chance to make the playoffs.

    If you saw the earlier comment? Disregard it. I get now why this guy has a highlight reel. If it helps Australian fans or people in the UK to watch his plays? I am all for it. The impact of this guy has been really great for the NFL overseas, and I did not know any of that knowledge until recently.
    So I am pulling for the guy more than ever to succeed. But you can't blame me for wondering what the hype was all about when it comes to this guy. I still don't understand the hype to be honest. But if he can succeed? That would be a great story for not only NFL fans in the US but for fans abroad as well. He's not the only UK player in the NFL either folks. Jack Crawford of the Dallas Cowboys is also from the UK. Here's to Crawford and Haynes making highlight reels in the future.

      Are you freaking serious? I get that he's a former rugby guy, and he had some good runs. But c'mon man. He's a backup RB for a reason.

    • @OcpCommunications
      @OcpCommunications 9 лет назад

      *****
      I never said he wasn't a threat. Jeez. I even gave the guy credit for some decent runs. But in his first game ever? A game where he muffed a punt, ran for less than 100 yards and scored zero TDs? What's really there for a highlight reel? He's a backup for a reason. The only backup RB I can think of that got a highlight reel this week. Not saying he isn't talented. But he was lucky to make the team, and I wish him the best but man. He isn't some epic back or anything like that. Very average performance tonight. The muffed punt was especially bad.

      @theilluminedone7896 9 лет назад

      +Weapons Of Warfare Just because he isn't the starter doesn't mean it doesn't matter.We know Bush went down and who knows how many weeks he will be out. Hyde is the clear feature back now but Hayne might be getting all the number 2 reps in practice until we sign someone from the practice squad or sign a free agent until bush comes back which means Hayne will get carries at RB on certain downs and distances when Hyde needs a rest. Hayne mostly has positive yardage on every touch. In retrospect I was too hard on him. He was not horrible but that muffed punt will be in his mind and against a better team could fuck us over.

  • @Vladpryde
    @Vladpryde 9 лет назад +1

    It looks like he's lowering his shoulders....which is both bad and good, imo. Good, because it allows him to shoulder-block guys out of the way at the LOS. Bad, because it takes away that natural Rugby movement that made him so dominate in pre-season. I would have liked to have seen him run around the LOS against this weak Vikings Defense, and pick up yards on the outside. Instead, he ran right up the middle, and kind of looked awkward doing it.
    I dunno...maybe it's just me. Go Haynes, and GO 9ERS! #9erLoyal #9erProud #9erFaithful

    He runs a bit too upright. He'll take some hard hits this year if he doesn't adjust his running style.
    I love how everyone is all over this guy. I do believe he's got some skill, absolutely. His open-field running is great. I'm just questioning his ability to slide down the offensive line and bounce it out until he finds a hole. He still has rugby instincts. Nothing that can't be fixed with time, I'm sure. But he's not great yet. Carlos Hyde, on the other hand, looked phenomenal last night. I'm very much excited to see what he'll do in the league.

    Hayne can still be a good punt/kick returner. It's almost impossible to come to the NFL and play running back. San Fransico has one of the best offensive lines in football. But he doesn't see the holes in time. Maybe some little screen passes to get him in open field. Pre-season are walk on"s etc trying to make a team. These guys are the big boys now.

    New NFL fan here.
    I m football fan(the other kind of football) and my favourite team is Chelsea FC playing in the English Premier League.
    I m starting to follow NFL because of Hayne.
    I think American football can be fun to watch despite lots of stoppage........
    But i think that using ur head as a weapon to hit someone s head should be banned. Don t get why it s allowed....
    Another question how can NFL teams be compared to Premiere League Team i term of success and history.
    Who is the Manchester United of NFL, Liverpool, Chelsea, City, Arsenal.

    Ocpcommunications, there's a few more other Rugby League players I can think of at the top of my head who have a similar skill set as Hayne. If he is successful, I think they'd have a good chance as well. Check out Sunny Bill Williams, Israel folau, (switched to Rugby Union) Greg Ingis and Billy Slater.

      +Mike Caldwell Been given limited game time since this game but he's gotten a couple of first downs which created 2 TDs which is good.

      looks like he will get a lot more time this week because Hyde is hurt and reggie bush is still hurt as usual

    • @theparadiddlydoo2771
      @theparadiddlydoo2771 9 лет назад

      Mike Caldwell Hyde is still likely to play though, isn't he? If Bush doesn't play, that means Mike Davis will come in which could mean that Hayne won't get as much time at RB as we expect?

    • @mikecaldwell3160
      @mikecaldwell3160 9 лет назад

      BounceTo TheBeat
      I read that Hyde left the practice field today because of his injury so he might be doubtful for the game. Davis would be activated but he still needs help on the workload and since bush is useless hayne should get some more action. besides, I think the 49ers are going to let everyone play this year because they know it is a rebuilding year and they want to evaluate their talent

    • @theparadiddlydoo2771
      @theparadiddlydoo2771 9 лет назад

      Mike Caldwell Oh wow that's interesting. Because when Hyde had a limp and went off the field against the Giants, he then came back on and looked fine. So if Hyde isn't the starter that must mean Bush would be, right? Have you heard an update on Bush's injury yet?

      +Michael Orseno Due to his lack of experience and the mistakes that he made...that's why he was cut. He hasn't shown that he's a "beast" in the NFL, yet. Another thing, DO NOT confuse his NRL success and think that he's going to do the same thing in the NFL. The NFL is a whole lot different.

    • @theparadiddlydoo2771
      @theparadiddlydoo2771 8 лет назад +1

      ***** Shaun Draughn and DeJuan Harris proved themselves at RB, Hayne not so much. As for yards gained, they didn't average less yards. Draughn averaged 3.5 yards and Harris 3.9. The only RB that averaged less than Hayne was Kendall Gaskins @ 2.5 yds.
      The athletes are no better?...They're far more agile than Hayne and have a better understanding of what to do at the Rb position. Example, pass protection/not missing a blocking assignment.

    • @theparadiddlydoo2771
      @theparadiddlydoo2771 8 лет назад +1

      ***** Yeah but they are already PROVEN NFL players!!! When you're as inexperienced as Hayne then you're more likely to be dropped based on your skill set and knowledge of the game.
      Did you not just read what I said previously or...? I just told you what they averaged...and it was more than Hayne.

      @theparadiddlydoo2771 8 лет назад

      +Gary Rozz Apparently he's made some improvements on the practice squad... which is good. The only problem is though (according to 49ers "media manager", Taylor Price) he needs to prove that he's better than the other players on special teams if he's going to play another game this season. I just hope he learns enough to the point where he can hopefully play some games next season.
