My problems with the movie: "Slow-mo", "The grain never really mattered", "No one died", "some guy with axes ran headfirst into several armed soldiers with laser weaponry", "the robot watched several people die before doing anything", "the capital ship, apparantly, can't call for other reinforcements", "seven rebels vs a small army, tanks and a giant ship?", "Moved a ship really far away and the mc had to travel that distance by horse", "superior tech army vs a small village?"

Every time they cut to the grain all I can think of is this song

They have space travel and create Einstein Rosen Bridges, the space vaginas, and yet don't have combines....
Disparu and Alteori had very unique takes on this film. One watched it at-length, twice, to mock the stupidity of the premise. The other watched it at triple speed to accommodate for how plodding it was.
Strangely, Alteori misses details (time for farming, General Titus' flashback implication) which actually makes the film WORSE with the answers to the questions. I don't know how that's possible, since Hack Snyder had all the time he wanted to make a story of his own design.
Funny all i though was ' god this feels like a 1930s Russian propaganda film ? Hmm anything to tell us Comrade '

I can’t wait for more epic slow-mo farming sequences or over the top violin recitals being played during murders. Truly a film of all time.
I find it personally amusing that the video title is "Rebel Moon Pt 2 is meant to be 30 mins long" and then the video itself is 35 and a half minutes long.
My first thought was "the mad lass just uploaded the actual movie at 4x speed and is daring Snyder to strike it!"
That bit with the musicians is so stupid not even the Loony Tunes would do it.
Honestly, I can get the Slow motion, I can get the inter-galactic civilization that need grain to survive, I can even get the griffin, but I draw the line at spaceship that ran with Coal.
Someone isn't suddenly not a killer because the person they tried to kill (and thought that they did) turned out to have survived. They TRIED and MEANT to kill them.
You can say they aren't a killer now because they wouldn't do that again, but not because their victim somehow survived, no thanks to them.
They had TWO occasions, both quite long when they SLOW. MOTIONED. HARVESTING. WHEAT.

You know I really think when she shots the princess. You need that one guy in the back to shout. "Hey Guys! She's bleeding light! Is that normal?! Maybe give her a double tap to be sure." I mean you have a god dam goofy orchestra who are somehow playing the right melody and tone setter for emotional beats like how? So a little bit more comedy is hardly going to make it any worse.
Honestly in terms of story-telling and world-building Rebel Moon is all over the shop. A lot of it feels a little too blatant where it's taking its inspiration from (at least to me). Also doesn't help that a lot of the characters are frozen water IQ level like I don't ask for much but could we stop with grunts with guns just walking towards their death OR the heroes charging with guns in their hands and every bullet has to bend through time and space to miss (too much plot armour in such cases). Rebel Moon feels like first draft material that COULD have kick started a new sci fi universe but instead it just feels too mish mash and leaves you making up a better story in your head.
This honestly didn't feel like a narrative, just a checklist of tropes.

My dad tried to watch this one. The not-Ides of March caused him to turn it off because it was so stupid, all the while i couldn't help but laugh because it takes a lot for him to decide "nah this is not gonna be worth it, i quit"

Spot on it's like a cut scene or id call it a music video where it doesn't make sense but you get it. It looks great but it could have been more and I would have loved to get 5 of these

Zack Snyder is reminding me more and more of M. Night Shamalan. They put out a huge hit of a movie and spend the rest of their careers trying to replicate that success, also regardless of the critical acclaim their movies tend to make money.
I think the engine room of the ship is AI art. It would certainly fit. They just used some prompt and rolled with it

No- it's not, A - I already commented this in Disparu's video- the man couldn't even get harvesting right, for all the bloody time he spent on it: I found myself screaming, "That is **not** the order of how you harvest a crop!" You reap first, bind the sheaves into bundles, stook - stand the bundles up to dry in the field [which they don't do], cart the grain, glean the leftovers, & *_then_* thresh & winnow near the grain store, so you don't have to move it as far.
"You don't thresh or winnow in the middle of the f^cking field _while_ the harvest is still going on! What the f^ck?!"
Oh, & harvested grain was usually left as grain until needed for use, because *it lasted **_longer_* in that form -- hope you lot like the taste of weevils & rancid flour...
And it's just such a stupid premise in the first movie; an imperial commander getting pissy about some inconsequential village wanting to do *the normal thing* & keep some of their harvest back for next season's planting- & him stupidly wanting to wipe them out because of that?!
It's one lousy village - take what they're able to offer, & then go to the next village on the sh^tty *farm **_planet_* /moon- whatever, & if you don't get your desired total allotment from the one- go to the next 'farming planet' in your vicinity, & just keep tallying it up 'til you hit your necessary total -- it can't *possibly* be the only place to get grain- on the planet, nor in the galaxy - & what value is there in killing a workforce?
'10 Commandments' said it best: "Men make bricks - the strong make many - the weak make few; the dead make none."
All this isn't even getting into the actual *big* issues of characters, characterisation, dialogue, or action -- it's _just_ in relation to the initial premise, & then the harvesting.
Seriously, it's just a **highly** flawed premise, from the get-go...

I was skipping and spamming for 10 seconds forward arrow key so much. Like brainless action, it was kinda okay, but as a movie with a huge run-time, it was horrible.
At this point I'm starting to feel really bad for Snyder. I can tell he really wants to create his own universe and has a lot of passion for it, but it just keeps getting universally panned.
I think he's way too focused on the world building aspect and not the character/story driven aspect, which really should be the other way around. Because once you get the latter down pat which is the important part, the former can emerge and develop along side it naturally without it relying on so much exposition.
Considering how long these movies are, especially the planned extended cuts, they really should have divided them into hour long episodes instead.
How can you grow grain on a planet where the sky is covered by non light giving heavenly bodies? 60% percent of the sky is covered.

OK, I'm just going to put this out there - maybe, just maybe the robot found them on the ground - since deer antlers fall off every year after mating season is over... and there are probably as many deer antler sets as there are male deer x however many years the deer population of that size has been on the planet.
This movie being video gamey really does have that feel.
The way I described it first was like Blue Sky concept art come to life and just seeing what happens.

4:17, That and the concept of the audience having to essentially tap into the Speed Force to get past the overused slow motion while also reading subtitles at 3x speed, 4:37 and even the slow motion just taps into the Still Force (yes, it’s a thing in the comics) to go even slower. At this point, Zack Snyder’s like Doctor Manhatten with that line “I prefer the stillness here.”

Not just you. Aside from the slow-mo grain farming, another massive complaint I keep hearing is how blurry it is. It's apparently due to some type of lense Snyder's been obsessed with for his past two movies.
