Good vid, but a couple of things I experienced differently: I stayed in three different hostels in Granada and Leon. All had AC in the dorms at night for sleeping. I'm also from the US and was treated no differently than anyone else passing through customs/immigration. Long line to go through coming into the country through the airport (which was hot as all hell with no AC. They said it was broken) but, when it was my turn. Breezed through. I have heard other land crossing hassle stories when coming in from Honduras as they are way more vigilant with controls on that particular border.

Definitely wish I had that AC in Leon, it was hot as hell there!
No en toda Nicaragua hace calor.
En la zona norte el clima es agradable.
Verdad? Lo veré en mi próxima visita 😄
