- Top military officials testified Tuesday before the Senate Armed Service Committee on the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Mark Milley, and the head of U.S. Central Command, General Frank McKenzie, will appear before lawmakers for the first time since the U.S. left Afghanistan at the end of August.

Once the US announced its withdrawal, the Afghan leadership stopped providing their troops with arms, ammunition, medical and food supplies, This is why collapse was so rapid. I am shocked that Milley still does not know this.

There is a very big difference between the utility Cessna 208s, Embraer turboprop attack aircraft, the Uh60 Blackhawks, armoured patrol vehicles, small arms etc etc that the AFGHAN ARMY AND AIRFORCE abandoned , and the uniforms, small arms, night vision goggles , civilian vans and people carriers and humvees ACTUALLY left behind by the Americans.
That difference is a few billion dollars.
Do you actually have any knowledge about the massive airlift of equipment the US had to commit to over Biden's first 6 months. Over 900 C17 flights, over 16000 items of military hardware, over 70000 tonnes of military equipment.
It was a massive effort and this tedious fake right wing rhetoric is getting on my nerves. For one, it's disrespectful to the US military.
Try looking at the insignia on the aircraft the Taliban have. They all have Afghan government insignia on them. I expect the Taliban will replace those insignia with their own, but the markings show these were ALL Afghan operated aircraft. (Except for a handful of DBR airframes which are of no use to anyone). Yes, equipment was left behind by the Americans, but NOWHERE near the amount you and the morons at the likes of FOX claim.
If these Generals would have asked actual troops who were seeing in real time the Afghan forces and saw what we did from them, we all could have told them. This is my issues with Arm Chair Generals. They are no better then a politician.

Why did Biden pull the troops out before the citizens and Afghan allies? Did he inform the governments of other countries about his plans? Many people can't still leave Afghanistan. The US exit from Afghanistan gave the Taliban access to a number of weapons, including guns, ammunition, helicopters, and more. 75,000 U.S. vehicles, 600,000 weapons, 208 planes left in Afghanistan. No one saw the danger? No "General" thought about the consequences? And said NO!!!???? but the super Milley was afraid of Trump???? 🤪🤓

Please the withdrawal was a shabacco and a terrible situation. The airfield should of had security until the last person boarded the craft. There should’ve had air support until crafts were safe and away from the imminent threats. Also; no equipment or an American should ever be left in a war zone not Vietnam or WW2. The corrupt Afghanistan leaders got salaries of 300,000 soldiers from the United States, but the most salaries went in the account of those corrupt leaders, and when those forces needed, actually there was no army to fight against the Taliban! Those Afgan soldiers who existed mostly had no salaries for several months but Taliban came and payed them and ask them come with us and you get treated well by us ( by the Taliban)!!
