I started off with a square of 16 for a cushion and now I'm using the same stitch for a chessboard. It gives me so many possibilities for utilising this stitch, really a revelation.
I can do this, I just had a lot of practice in how to change colors in the same row. I have had experience in working this stitch, but I didn't know what it was called at the time. This pattern is wonderful, creating a geometric design with the same stitch and carrying the yarn is sheer genius. The work gets its thickness from the carried yarn. The last time that I used this stitch was in the round I started with a disc then continued up until I had the height that I wanted. It was striped but the stitch pattern looked a little different when done in the round. Geometric pattern dark and light, I love it. Thank you for sharing this pattern with us.💖💖💖💖
You know I was looking for something more modern for my granddaughter and then I read another comment from someone here that said she was going to make hers for a neighbor in their college colors. What a great idea, my granddaughter just graduated high school this past June, and wouldn't it be great to wrap up a really great year for her by having a blanket in her high school colors of burgundy and yellow-gold. I hope I can find the right shades to make her one of these blankets. Thank you for this tutorial, I find you easy to listen to as you have a soft voice.
