You're a good bloke James. Unlike most you aren't constantly promoting products, Patreon, Merch, Side hussles etc. It's refreshing to just see a RUclipsr making videos and having a simple donation option. I appreciate you not ramming monetization stuff down my throat. Thank you for being just a kind and considerate chap.

I've been watching your channel for a time, and no matter how rubbish I think some of your ideas are when you present them, they always seem to work out great in the end! Good job mate!

HEAT HEAT HEAT with LED's. The aluminium strip not only holds the LED's but more importantly it dissipates the heat, then on top you encase the LED's in resin. What will you do WHEN, not if, the LED's fail?

The lights look great - lovely soft lighting. As you said, very classy, and the thing I like about your videos is that you always have a plan, and stick to it (more or less, lol) - anyway, you have stick-to-it-ness, and resourcefulness in abundance.

Looks sweet. If those LEDs have the ability to be dimmed, that would be a great way to save power and give a more subtle look if desired.

I would not have glued the leds in, they don't last forever. Also the quality from Aliexpres is a bit hit and miss.

Good job James, if you can fit a resistor in circuit of the right value it will dim the led's and they will last longer and run cooler.

have a look out for dimmers that can talk to Alexa, you can set times to come on like dusk or just ask Alexa to turn them on, works great on our under gunwale lighting and Stern lights. Looks great though James, all coming along nicely.

What a very interesting and informative video I have to admit James I actually watched it twice.
I'm so glad to see that you are close to finishing your boat...
Perhaps you could apply the same lighting to the steps on the stairs...???
Just a thought James are those l e d lights ment to be run on 240 v. . Or 110 v..as you pointed out the high demand on your battery source.???
I only mentioned this as I had fitted the same l e d . lights . .to my campervan and found that the batteries were discharging power rather quickly.
Also they were rather bright. However a small converter box solved the issue. ...
Anyway James this is only my thoughts. Keep yourself safe and well mate..

You know the old saying, James: It looks far from good, but good from far. 😁
You can get electronic dimmers to control the brightness and power consumption of LEDs.
    All the best, mate.
P.S. The red armchair is dead, long live the charcoal armchair.

Don't worry about the Resin bothering the electronics - they often embed electronics in Epoxy to weatherproof and hacker-proof them! Yeah - it's annoying me - I'd like to fix the flashers on my motorcycle, but they're embedded in epoxy....... LOL

Not a great idea to epoxy these in the life of led strip isnt as great as they tell you..
Ive been fitting lots from £ up to many ££££ and a year later most are at half their original brightness..
Id recommend buy cheap and change them out 12 mths later or just suck up the lower output after a few months...

Im wondering if using a dimmer with them 11:41 might help? Running them at less than full brightness may help I've not had tried any yet to find out their effects on lifetime and power consumption etc..
If nothing you made them them nicely flush and it made a good video anyway 😊
