As always, so fun to see what you all are up to in each vlog. I accidentally, but happily found out that lotion that has oatmeal in it helps stop mosquito bite itches! Oh, clever work on the gate!
I don't know how ya'll would feel about this mosquito protection or not. Im highly allergic to mosquitos and don't like sprays so we use Thermocell devices. you need to place them out in the area your in about 10 mins b4 you want go out. They cover large areas or small depending on what unit you buy. If you were to set it out by your swing or work area it would keep them at bay for you. Just a thought. ❤
Love the Gate Kyle. Love seeing the Family work together. Gorgeous Family . Them bugs were in attack mode .... i could c them flying . God Bless Ya'll. Hugs n Love To My Favorite Family ❤❤❤❤❤🐶🐕🦮🐕🦺🐩
@@BeingbethunesLast month my dog and I had a close call with a giant WDB rattler! It was in terrain very similar to this, dense foliage along a creek. I hadn’t seen it but my dog did and started sniffing the snake. The snake lunged but miraculously didn’t make biting contact. Never consider yourself safe from rattlers here, they can be anywhere and everywhere!
Thanks Cat!!! Kyle is such a great chef! I couldn’t believe he made that rice from scratch last night. He’s learning more and more of these awesome new things he loves 😍
@@Beingbethunes also gather and dry silver sage. Once dry bundle tightly in to about 2 inch bundles and burn them it is the sage bot the smoke that keeps the mosquitoes away. I am sure you all know smoke does not get rid of bugs lol
Yes, it makes me nervous watching you guys do the work. It's great that the kids help but as you say, there is a potential for a lot to go wrong. Sandals, barefoot, etc. I know, their choice. But, just agreeing with you Jenn, it makes me nervous.
It’s so hard being a parent and allowing them to do dangerous things. Eli has hiked national parks barefoot, he came out of the womb with a disdain for shoes. It’s been a battle with him, so I gave in. I swore after he got the fishhook in his toe he would wear shoes from there on out. Nope. I swear he would be barefoot in public. Trying to get him to wear clothes was an entirely different battle 😂 His feet have gotten used to this terrain, so I think he doesn’t even feel it anymore. I am with you, I don’t even like being around the work with heavy machinery, I’ve never been a fan.
Looks great everyone! I live in Muskoka and summer til mid July it is bug city. We sit on our deck in a bug tent and I tend to all gardens in full bug net, hat and jacket. You all should get them. They last for years and no bug spray necessary. Keep the great videos coming
Why doesn't Jenn help with any of the farm projects? Looks like Kyle does all of the projects, cooking, driving, editing etc. That brush hog is serious work, y'all could take turns on it
Hey Billy Kyle here, we show around 20 minutes of our day every other day. I’m mostly in charge of the vlogs. I do the majority of the filming and content planning. If it wasn’t for Jenn, i would have quit years ago lol. She’s the only thing that’s kept this show together. Jenn does a LOT of work behind the scenes. She does all of our post, blog writing, short form video, not to mention she’s writing a book and starting a coaching business, all while raising 3 kids and me! Haha Thanks for the comment Billy, but I can assure you, she’s the glue that keeps this bus on the road!
Love you all! Kyle you are so good at handy work! Jenn I know loves you for it! I wish too Heather was smellavision. I live the shell of cooked onions and peppers. Kyle wheres mine? Lol! 😂 Just messing with you! Great job on the fence. See you all soon!
Use the bags of concrete to poor a stoop infront of the bus door and add a new square every so often and before you know it you have a whole concrete patio
I am sorry I was late getting to your video! Very busy day today! I was watching Guy Fieri today on Food Network. And he was at a restaurant there in Taos New Mexico called Crutiz. The food looked good! It’s a small place it looks like. Not sure when or how long ago he was there. Let know if it’s there or you heard of it or been there. Kyle that Burrito looked good so did the tamale. So glad Chico didn’t get away. Also the fence is coming along good.
Oh for sure! We’ve expressed those to him, he’s even gotten a fish hook stuck in his foot before because of being barefoot while tubing. He prefers to be barefoot, we educate him on the potential hazards, then he makes his choice on what to do. When they were little, we tried to force them to do things because we are their parents kind of mentality. What this did was make them rebel even more. I learned this lesson when we when snow tubing with the family when Ben was about 6. Ben insisted on wearing crocs instead of his snow boots we bought for this occasion. He refused. So, we tried a new tactic, pending healthy risk. We let him wear crocs. After the first run, he came up and said “I should’ve worn the boots.” Never again did he go without snow boots in the snow. It’s the same with Eli. They don’t have scorpions or poisonous snakes where we are, so with the healthy risk, we allow Eli to make that choice. It’s worked out so far and he runs straight over the rocks in the driveway because his feet have calluses to keep them protected. I appreciate you letting us know about the scorpions and snakes, better safe than sorry for sure!!
@@Beingbethunes well i have to say , i like the way you see it. 👍. Its good for them to make their own decisions. I guess ultimately they are the ones who have to live with what happens, and its the best way to learn. Good for you guys, and i was also thinking maybe you just dont worry about everything like I do. .. lol .. I think of Eli as the baby of the fam and I see him as little still, but all your kids are growing so fast and im watching them grow with every video. Molly is growing up and looking more like her beautiful mom every day. She is so smart and mature the way girls are, and your boys have such a great role model in Kyle... that man can do anything!!! 💪💪💪💪💪
Gate looks fab ! Lovely to see all the kids getting involved with the projects , you have a beautiful family x
Thank you so much Claire!

Love when Kyle did the 'ol toss of the drill bit! I get frustrated too when certain tools aren't doing the job and I'd be tossing it as well.

Watch the kids & dogs in the high weeds for snakes & spiders.
For sure!!

Plant some mint and lavender this will help keep the mosquitoes away

As watching, build a latching small walk thru gate to fill gap.
That could definitely work!! Thank you!!

Thanks! We will have to do something!
Another productive day at Rancho del Bethune! Hmmm... how would that look as a sign on the new gate?
I like your thinking Burt!! It would look amazing!
Great job on that gate! Get some zappers! I also know you hate chemicals, but you should also hate what mosquitos can carry. ❤️
Oh!!! I had honestly forgotten about zappers! Thank you!!!
Need to grab mosquitoes tabs to rid water of mosquitoes
Oooh! Thank you! We are gonna look into those!

Baking soda with a little water is good on all bug bites too. ❤
I heard white vinegar helps ease the itch

Ya it might have been an old episode. Nit sure I don’t watch it him that much like my sister does. .
Why not 2 more woodpost like the one u put on the other side to help enclose the space gap?? So 2 on oone side and the one it attached too to open.
Put up some bat boxes. Bats eat up all the mosquitos!!! Or get ducks!!!
Ooooohhh! That’s a fantastic suggestion! Thank you!! We are going to the store today, don’t mind me coming out with 200 bat boxes 😂😂😂
you gotta put salsa on a tamale 🌶️
Yesss! Next time for sure!
