What’s really fascinating is the contrast in feelings both soundtracks convey (IMHO). FFX soundtrack albeit has hopeful and beautiful songs, it also has tracks that are filled with dread and despair. Sort of tying with the theme surrounding the whole plot line. Whilst FFX-2 has more free and open spaced tracks. Even the places in X that had more ominous themes to them, are now under a completely different soundscape. Take Zanakard Ruins for example (which is one of my favorite songs in the whole OST). Yes it’s the final point in X, but they managed to make it sound “alive” in X-2, and I love that so much. Needless to say, X and X-2 have a very special place in my heart. Forever will cherish this series.

I think it's insanely underrated. I really like the battle system. It's more of a challenge.. And the good ending if you get it.. Wow. Yes it's corny but I love it
Gotta say, one of the best OST in the entire series. While they made some wierd choices with the story, I still love the feeling of the world post Sin and how it evolved. Great childhood memories, I think I was 14 when the game came out and playing it was somehow soothing and gave me perspective, that the world and people change with time and it’s a part of life I have to embrace with optimism. Very nostalgic inducing OST, hope it’ll be on Spotify one day.
This game is super underrated. Played it for the first time just this year, and it is the perfect victory-lap for FFX. FFX may be my favorite, but FFX2's feeling of sorrow, loss, and readiness to say goodbye to memories underneath the cheery exterior. It comes together wonderfully, in no small part because of this amazing soundtrack. Abyss of the Farplane sneaking in the main theme as we prepare to rise to the challenge. The soundtrack is one of my favorite in a FF game. It has a unique collection of tracks and especially the sweeping emotional tracks hits a home run. Aside from FF7, this is the only soundtrack I actually spent money on. The rest of FF games I just pick and choose the tracks. Sadly I gave this soundtrack away and wish I didnt.

Totally dig all the quasi funkadelic bass awesomeness, although the game was really girly as sailor moon got mashed potatoes with final fantasy 10, but hey, over all, I really enjoyed the battle systems and soundtrack is absolutely fantastic! So much fun and just a feel good atmosphere, even melancholy to an extent. Brings back the urge to give this one another go!! 👏👏
I grew up playing KH2, never really got into FF. First one I played was 15. Saw that Game Pass has some FF games so I downloaded X2. Decided to check out the soundtrack & man.. This music is stupid good. I need to play this game soon
I have a hard time seaming this game's Yuna with the OG. She feels wildly different. Same voice. Same facial structure and hair for the most part. But the bulbs in her personality have been totally rewired with Jpop circuitry. Idk. I still roll with it. This game is definitely inferior but not unenjoyable. It's honestly a really cute romp through familiar territory with a few closing character statements that were left vague in the original. And the music. Ugh. ❤️ That's why I'm here.
@@milesk5339 the plot was lousy. I did like the realistic concept of political factions struggling for dominance now that Sin was no longer a defining part of life. That much was sensible. But alot of clunky choices beyond that. They transformed Brother from a peripheral, blitzball GOAT into JarJar Binks. Bridged FF7 unnecessarily. Recycled Tidus and the love story narrative...ugh. But hey. It was more enjoyable to follow than 13 IMO
@@charismapher The plot was definitely less serious than X. I may have an un-popular opinion here but I actually enjoyed the change up in mood and theme. I mean, this story could have defintely taken a much more dark and depressing tone. Yuna could have just turned into depressed shut in just like Cloud from Advent Childeren. Just another protag who is overly burdened by past trauma and who just cant seem to get out of their own head. But what did we get? A Yuna who now sings, travels the world and flexes her second amendment rights? Whoa! Not to mention all of the other strange situations they get themselves in. Its not what I expected but Ill take it!
@@TheDocbach I agree. If ppl wants some depression shit, we have a plethora to choose from. FFX-2 makes sense to me. After the calm, and ppl still look for another sacrifice and bloodshed...
I liked FFX-2 but it was definitely not as good as 10. Nevertheless, i still enjoyed this game and have beaten it countless times. Maybe one day I'll come back to it when I catch up on the countless games I've bought but been too busy with work and studies.

100% with you. The game just felt like a collection of side quests, poorly-imagined characters and a weak plot.
