    Incredible opener. People hate on this game, but it accomplished exactly what it was meant to. It showed a glimpse into a hopeful future for Spira, free of Sin and religious oppression.
    But it also showed the grief of those who were lost along the way, and how to heal from it; how to forget your troubles and just have a good time. But fun can only last for so long; one needs to have direction. A goal to head to.
    A very powerful story in essence. And this soundtrack highlights the lightheartedness as well as the gravity of life. I’ll never forget the world of Spira, even when I’m gone.

      It definitely could have been done better (especially the cheesy YRP shtick and being a little TOO goofy and anime at times), but I wholly agree. The combat and dress sphere system were simply better and more interesting than FFX's and many other FF games. Class systems had disappeared for a long time by then and I was ecstatic to see it brought back.
      Yes, there are silly and goofy moments in the story and it doesn't really pick up until the last 25-30%, but you're watching a world heal after their lives almost ended. I, for one, am willing to watch a world in the process of healing and reclaiming their lives for a bit rather than watching it all get torn apart once again like most RPGs (and even Final Fantasy) would tend to do. After the events of FFX, Spira NEEDED this time to heal and so did Yuna. People are beginning to enjoy life again. I was honestly glad to be able to just see Yuna in the driver's seat, even if I can't enjoy the first few hours of the story as much as I once did. Sometimes a story of healing over grief and loss is more fulfilling in the end than "fight big bad world-ending being" like every other story. At least I can relate to it. There are so few games that even touch upon this aspect, let alone focus a game on it.

      ABSOLUTELY, YES there are goofy parts in this game but to have a chance to see Kilika getting better and Luca being more and more safe was something that I gladly took as an amazing part 2 for ffx story. I loved seeing Yuma finally being herself and putting her decision first. She was so young when she decided to put her life away for others and now, as peace maker she is living her life. But also it is interesting to see that even without Sin, the war among ppl was rising, and it is nice seeing how to resolve new issues with new threat and in the same time having opportunity to save Tidus and finally giving chance for both of them to have a happy life. Yes, the mechanics are sometimes confusing AND YES IT IS ABSOLUTELY IRRITATING SOMETIMES to follow tutorial to get 100% for true ending and if u miss something bam, u immediately get other endings, but whoever adored ffx will also love ffx2, and the soundtrack is as iconic as FFX one

    Such a beautiful piece. Uematsu is a genius. I love how peaceful it is while having both a dash of hope and sorrow. Perfect way to describe how Yuna felt during this story. I'm actually going back through FFX for the first time in a long time because of rediscovering the soundtrack in my music library.

    • @MrAquilina420
      @MrAquilina420 7 месяцев назад +2

      You’re not wrong to make that assumption, but Uematsu had no participation in this ost. It was a one-off by the game’s two composers - very hit and miss compared to the more traditional music of the series prior.

    It was a nice game, but I still remember wishing this had been more of a standalone concept with its own world building to it. Maybe even letting it still be an FFX sequel, but not taking place in Spira. The setting just felt too small for this game and too focused on the past.

      Afraid not. The combat and dressphere system (well, class system) were far superior than anything than FFX's bland combat had to offer. The main plot and some... odd character decisions were the only real weak points, granted it's a large part of the game.
