- Let's cut right to it: I am not proud of the piece I demonstrated my tips with, but I stand by what I said in the beginning of the video! To keep it real, I am uploading anyway because often we learn more from observing mistakes than seeing perfect results. Maybe sometime in the future I will make a new version of this tutorial on how to use color in dry-brush art. First I will have to buy some new paints though ... (and practice more)
Here's the first (more successful) video I made about monochromatic dry-brushing:

I really enjoyed your honest demo. Little failures teach a lot. This vid is very useful to help avoid the pitfalls. Please make more of the dry brush oils in color and with masks! Thank you so much
Thank you for your feedback! Isn't honesty about our mistakes what we can all use a little more of? :)
I appreciate the effort👍
Thank you! I appreciate you letting me know. 🙂
It’s actually much better than you make it sound :) No, really. Please make more of these color demos with dry brush technique.
That's so sweet of you! I think I can try to "freshen up" those paints by adding a drop of linseed oil. Maybe that'll work?! 😅 Either way, thank you!
oil on paper Steffi yes, that should do the trick. Or even just a drop of mineral spirits. I have quite a few old tubes of oil paint too :)
You are beautiful!😘
Thank you!
