Most Interesting Meat Cleaver Knife Forging Process

Got good friend here in Australia only started making knives ect in his shed last year 2021. He made me a lovely Bowie Knife outta car Leaf Springs last week.
Its finish is shiny and smooth with an edge you can easily shave with.
I have a collection of knives and this one stands out in front of all my other knives as a heart felted gift.

I love it, brilliant ingenuity whilst retaining the 'smith's skills. As a disabled person who occasionally likes to dabble I've often wondered how automated the process could be, all I need now is a couple of power hammers.
May I also say how well this was filmed. They followed the cleavers through every stage and the camera stayed long enough on each section for the viewer to see what was happening. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Нож, скорей всего, заточен как зубило, а не нож. Заточка производилась на сухом бруске под большим углом. Эта режущая кромка будет рубить гвозди, но не резать мясо. Сухая заточка без воды или масла приводит к перегреву и отпуску режущей кромки и, как следствие, уменьшения её твердости. Я не в восторге от такой небрежной работы. Это ремесленники, но не мастера своего дела.
