    I like Watain's interviews because you see that it is so much more that just a band to these guys. Its almost like a cult. Everything they do has a meaning and a purpose.

    For some reason, I just haven't been able to get into any of Watain's stuff post Casus Luciferi, but I'll be damned if it still isn't one of the most interesting bands to follow. Erik is probably one of the smartest people in the extreme metal scene, and definitely one of the most well-spoken ones. Whatever your opinion on their music is, you have to give them credit for their dedication, self-awareness and extreme respect for what they do.

      MetalAttack1986 Do they all follow a Philosophy?

    • @lokilaufeyson276

      MetalAttack1986 Black metal is about sending a message.

    • @lokilaufeyson276

      MetalAttack1986 Yes, but without a message or philosophy it becomes almost pointless.

      +Loki Laufeyson The message Watain is expressing is that of Satanism...relying on your self and not religion, Christianity, to decide your path in life. The music is very centered upon those elements. So, there IS a message - you just have to be able to understand and relate. It sounds to me that you just don't relate to the music, but that is okay- not everyone will.

    👍 I`ve listened to (and read) a few interviews with Erik and he seems very intelligent (to me). Not shallow at all... Not poser at all... and that is rare nowadays (unfortunately).

    What is freedom? As, humans i think we have the free will. We can chose. That's the Freedom God have given us.

      Watain means the freedom to do what ever you want. That means breaking the rules of our society and - in their case - worshipping Satan. Including anarchy and chaos.

    Watain fucking rules. I hate how underrated in the black metal community they are. Most people don't like to classify them as black metal which is hilarious. Swedish black metal is the trve black metal, and that is proved.

      I disagree. If anything, they're overrated. I've always only seen them get more praise than they deserve.

    Blablabla. The "Wild Hunt" is not only two fucking words combined. Come on guys! Enough blabla.
    Also, this complete lack of decisiveness is not very inspiring - weak!

    underground? nag watain is just about overrated as behemoth or dimmu borgir now

  • @coldblackfire
    @coldblackfire 10 лет назад

    Watain is a pop band now. POP, as underground as Brooke Candy or Arcade Fire. Its kinda funny they don't take pride in their success and relax a bit but rather try to act like they are struggling underground devil worshiping metalheads. talking about DIY, solitude, melancholy and shit. that shit is bullshit at this point

      So what should they do that ppl like you would be happy? Always moaning about everything but still watching the interviews just to leave a negative comment. Must be a boring life you lead.
