Saw Watain in New Orleans with Book Of Black Earth and Ritual Killer at The Dragon's Den in '08. Watain was only a trio when they performed. It was the most evil musical experience I've seen live. 🤘🏻
And he still is a badass musician.

Well, ignoring whatever Mordok needs to be in rehab for, I think they kept the questions simple in order not to rock any boats.
When you're in a band that is openly, flamboyantly Satanic, you try to stay respectful and neutral to the audience's values.
(Which is sad, because a simple "fuck the nazis" would have made the entire interview worthwhile.)

It’s actually not a bad question. I’d argue that a lot of black metal bands stay in their lane because they don’t want to be labeled anything but black metal.

Hell yeah ofc!!1!! I’m a Black Metalhead and I’m also a Christian. These guys may not be Christians (obviously) but it’s good to just spread a little joy. But if I’m being honest most of the Black Metal community, fans, bands, and musicians might spit and laugh at you for saying stuff like that. Be careful brotha. But yeah be the light in the darkness. If you like black metal I recommend Antestor and Horde. They are Christian themed BM and they’re really good. I’m sure Batushka counts too bc they’re orthodoxy themed. Cheers and hails 🖤🤘🏻💀
Free Jazz is limitless, chaotic and potential by the right wills. Watain on the other hand has form and order. Still great music, but with order and structure they remain limited and predictable.
