you know its bad when its called Hilary
But if it gets stronger it'll be Bill ...... Hicks
Bahaha!
😂
😂🤣. Only if it makes it’s way to Iran with plutonium lol
I'm not too concerned for Southern California except for areas that get flooding but Baja looks like it's going to take the biggest hit. I hope efforts are being made to protect people
Burn scar and desert areas should be hyper vigilant though, most damage from these storms aren’t the winds, it’s the water
Those who have fled Cali over the last three years… count ya blessings. 😰🙏🏽
I do every single day. Been outta there for 25 years now.
@@DOSU490what state you in now? Asking for a friend lol
Those who have "fled" 🙄 California over the last 3 years, thank you and please never come back.
Most of you weren't even born here anyway.
So, NewScum may have inadvertently saved lives? 😂🤣
Texas. Small town Texas.
Im in Southern Arizona and it's already hella cloudy/dark outside. This is gonna b interesting to say the least
I'm at Mt Shasta and we have clouds also
@@wickedbunny2020 buckle up I guess we're gonna b in for a bit of a ride to put it mildly
I'm in Chandler Arizona - and it's definitely eerily cloudy and oddly dark.
🙏 ❤
@@wickedbunny2020 Yea I don't think those clouds are in relation to this storm considering its clear here in Socal
It is building, that's for sure! It's what it does if it makes landfall, that can be a real problem. I remember Hurricane Gloria, where it made landfall and it came on up into PA. It caused rivers to flood, washing out towns. It went all the way into Pittsburgh, flooding out power plants and several areas
You must be confusing storms. Gloria went to New England, not PA.
Not one peep about storm surge....weird...
Thank you from southern California
As soon as it hits Baja , it will diminish significantly. The water temps in the pacific can’t sustain a storm of this magnitude. The moisture associated is a concern, however the wind component will be negligible.
I live in Phoenix and I just hope it helps with our drought. The cooler weather was a plus but to get rain too? It’s Christmas in August!
"drought?".... dude you live in a literal desert.
Hopefully Lake Mead (which supplies water to Southern California, Southern Nevada, and a good portion of Arizona) is filled up with lots of new water from this storm. Another possibility with this storm is reduced fire danger over most of the state even when the hot/dry Santa Ana winds start firing up from September-November.
Agreed! lots of fires need to be put out!!
As an Ian hurricane survivor, I can tell you one thing, don't listen to models. Our climate models suck swamp water.
Has folks in that part of the country ever been through a hurricane? If not they are in for a rude awakening. Prayers to all.
I highly doubt it crossing the minds of California and especially not the Southwest. I live in Phoenix and ppl are more excited for rain than anything.
We have not been through a hurricaine for a reason. They don't form over the cold Pacific ocean. Southern CA has a north west wind swell (right now) of cold ocean water and there is not going to be any fuel for this storm from the ocean. They are just praying that it rains some some they can claim global warming. Fake News. It will be overcast on Sunday and Monday - that is all.
We'll be fine for the most part. This isn't the EastCoast. Our Deserts & Arizona will gladly absorb the storm. Its the beaches & mtns at stake.
I’ve lived other places, I’m looking forward to a change in the weather 😂
I'm a native from San Diego - the last time anything even remotely like this happened, was back in 1939. It was a massive tropical storm that ended up killing (I believe) around 60 people... We are in no way prepared for this - and a lot of folks here aren't taking this very seriously at all. My own mother is telling me I'm overreacting. Hopefully she's right.
Coming from someone that lives in the NW panhandle of Florida, all you people that are excited and blow this off as nothing and merely just a rain storm are idiots! While I understand the major need for rain in your area that will hopefully relieve most of the drought issues you have You have no idea what the issues and the danger that this storm could possibly bring! Do not be naive! Be prepared for the worst because things can change at any moment. I pray the forecast stays as told and it dials down to a tropical storm by land fall, but I know all too well that the forecasts on landfall location and strength are not always correct. This storm will reach a category 4 extremely close before it hits so what everyone needs to be praying for is that it does not hit you at a 4 or even a 3 because it would be complete devastation for you and your family and making it 10x’s worse if you are not prepared. Be sure you have a full tank of gas, Stock up on water, non perishable foods, batteries, flash lights, candles(be sure to go over fire safety especially if you have kids because all you need is your house to burn down in the middle of a hurricane), board games, baby supplies, medication, or anything else you can think of that you wouldn’t be able to get without a car, without power, without a phone(yes cell phone towers go can go down). While I hope this brings nothing but drought relief to your region you still need to be prepared because trust me you will never be regretful for having extra food/water and other supplies that most are things you will still use if it’s just a tropical storm when it hits but YOU WILL REGRET over and over again if you don’t prepare for the worst and you get hit with a major hurricane.
Just my own personal PSA because after reading all these “YAY” comments from people that have absolutely no clue what they’re talking about I felt the need to put this out there.
Don’t forget about anything you would need for your fur babies!
Thank you for the advice .
I truly doubt that it will be bad, but it is always good to be prepared.
There has only been one hurricane to hit the west coast, ever.
Yes, just like everywhere else in the world. We also have our fair share of idiots here too. People should get some canned food, bottled water, and toiletries as well, I just hope the selfish people don’t hoard everything like they did during the pandemic. I’m sure we’re going to have flooding, strong winds, power outages and a good amount of damage. But, the ones saying “yay, rain!” Let them get washed away. We could use a few less idiots. Let’s just hope that we don’t get hit with a massive earthquake right after. 😳
And FYI, the vast majority of California is out of the drought due to an incredibly wet winter.
The ocean temps off the coast of So Cal have been the low 70s. I was just in Laguna Beach last week and the water temp was 70 degrees.
That’s why it’s just passing through here not staying here and it’s gonna die down once it gets closer probably
It dropped over the last week. Look it up it is back to 66. The swell is Colder Northwest water. This is fake panic to generate some ratings. More fake News.
80 degrees F. Needed for any tropical activity...78 or lower too cold...
@@Gil7111TX Yes sir. I figure once the storm reaches So Cal, it’ll be a weak tropical storm or depression. We’ll see….
The name of that storm is truly named correctly!
What about Yuma. Az?🧐
"Hilary" Ironic. 🤣🤣
Yeah she brings destruction where ever she goes .😂
Y'all voted for her!
LOL :D
Made my day🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great Report...im prepping and praying for ALL 🙏🙏
Poor people of Skid row.
I was just thinking the same,
Oh no. Its eye has formed. Lived thru 2 floods..if u are in the target please: call a hotel here in Sacramento or 30 miles north Yuba City. You do not want to be in this.
Hot here 100 degrees but u dont want to live where the power will get knocked out. Your frig with food will spoil. Get your vehicle full of gas, water, clothes, food etc and cash.
Power goes out no atm for cash, gas pumps wont work, crowded freeways. Nothing worse muggy air with no aur conditioning. .... sirvived 2 floods. Its not fun. Hope this helps. When u call for a hotel ask for a Evac Rate. Pay ahead with a crecit card. Take care
Thank you for this very good advice. I'll copy and paste it into a text message to my mother who lives in San Diego. (As of now - she isn't taking this very seriously at all, she says it will be nice to finally get some 'good rain'. Prayers up, and thanks again!)
If this storm can just hit the desert southwest and the Southern California desert that would help out the whole region. I pray major cities like San Diego, LA, Vegas, and Phoenix are not hit head on by this storm. Infrastructures in these cities will not handle a storm like this well.
Please make sure to have plenty of gas in your car and gather important documents.
It never rains in California, but girl let me warn ya.......
We just had a crazy ass year for rain
God Please Help the people of Maui and Bless the Souls of those killed in the fire in such haneous and undignified manner of death.
I can not know the sadness the surviving members of these families are going thru and those who there is no one left to claim them lost or attend they funeral because the whole family gone and no one knows it.
Incomprehendable and sadness of infinity !!!!!!! Maddening is the only word I can process to label this trajety!!!
I'm in LA come on Hilary. It's been over 100 degrees for a month. Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain 🌧️🌧️!!
Just have to make sure no one is caught in a flash flood. Could be very dangerous.
it should be a Cat 5 by the time it hits Los Angeles..
Winds will be high...button down everything
@@russelneilv1361 Waters are too cold, it will be a Low-end Hurricane to high-end Tropical storm (winds of 60mph-75mph)
@@russelneilv1361 You're fear-mongering, dude. That's not what this weather report said at all.
San Diego resident here! We are not prepared for this.
Same! not at all... get prepared while you can. Individually? maybe, but countywide? Yikes. Infrastructure gonna be put to the ultimate test. Stay safe!
I'm from New York. We get hurricanes and tropical storms once in a while. Just make sure you have nonperishible food, put water in baggies and freeze them. You can use them To keep food cold if the power goes out. Also have Candles and flashlights And any medicine that you might need If you can't get out for a couple of days. My prayers are with you.
Going to hit as a Category 5 and they haven’t even boarded up their windows. Thousands of casualties expected. I don’t see a point in helping them if they don’t help themselves.
Is this true? Never heard that before hurricane in California
It will be a low by the time it makes land. Weakening fast. Strange why channels keep Hurricane in the title
Water! Water! Fantastic the more the better!
Good time to place Billy, Billy Mays flex sealed bottomed vessel. Since so stellar, shouldn't be a problem.
Just shared this with my sister in Salinas California . Wonder if we will get some rain from it here in Victoria BC Canada .
If this reaches Salinas California with any strength, we will know that it’s weather manipulation. I was born and raised in Salinas. They’ve already been through two back-to-back floods last winter.
Fill that Salton Sea!!!!
Let's hope it takes a slight jog to the right and stalls over Lake Mead. 😅
Can’t think of the last time a hurricane went UP the West coast. Hmm…
1939.
It was the ONLY "hurricane" on the west coast.
With a name like Hilary… it can’t be good. 😣
Great explanation
We are going to need water bottles and ribeye steaks
Exactly
Do you hoard toilet tissue and buy them in bulk too 😂...
@@Thearvdr 😂 Yes! I’m very susceptible to fear mongering.
I live in Dinuba ca, Tulare county, in between Visalia and Fresno.. should we be worried???
I'm in Visalia. Yes. We will get a lot of rain. Probably be the worst we will see.
@@ParanormalPopcorn but anything like evacuate? I feel like some of California will become part of the Pacific Ocean that’s how worried I am right now
😂This isn't the EastCoast. Aside from L.A & San Diego. The Rest is Dry Desert. We Are Waiting for much needed rain.
Idiot
Will this hurricane bring more heat into the ocean for the next system to come in afterwards?
No, storms like this cool down the water.
No - the system will be too small, and too fast to have any effect on the sea water temperatures - the ocean will have an effect on the storm - since it's cold water being drawn into the hurricane, it will get weaker the further north it tries to go. That's why hurricanes/tropical storms are so rare on the West Coast of the US.
No....love Florida
No, hurricanes absorb the heat and cool the part of the ocean it passes over. Hurricanes are like natural air conditioners for the ocean
Should have locked her up when we had the chance.
Why? She was never indicted for any crimes, despite large efforts to find something… unlike trump who is a walking crime.
For what exactly, Einstein?
We need the water just be prepared..
Will this affect the Bay Area as well ?
Lets hope it wipes that out too
Good one Andy.

Cali about to taste the true damage of what a hurricane can do.
They aren't ready.
Nothing is going to happen.
Bottom line
As a Cal native of over 50 years......😂😂😂🤣🤣
and the funny part is...WHERE????
Pack your animals, and valuables and leave.
I am in the HIGH DESSERT RIDGECREST CALIFORNIA, Do you think we are going to be hit with the Hurricane? Or are we going to have lots of rain?

yes go to california Florida has had enough of hurricanes so Calfornians learn to be resilient like Floridiams
Learn to Swim! See you down in Arizona Bay😂
We need to get the people out of LA. Evacuate now.
Just Gov. Newsom.
With him gone, order will be restored everywhere throughout the state.
Maybe He will get trampled in the mass panic
Who named this? Can the next major be a Klinton....

With my professional analysis!!! It’s time to panic!!!!?

HILARY !! What a fitting name for a disaster ;)
Bring it on heavy! Wash away the bums.
Are these so called "bums" bothering you? Your comment just flat out rude and disgusting. Bums or not everyone is a human being. Wouldn't that be funny if this hurricane hit hard and destroyed your place of residence making you a "bum" and I bet you consider yourself a Christian and a good person too right? ( I rarely reply or comment but reading what u has to say just made me sick andcI couldn't help but reply)
Nice to hear some real meteorology without any "climate change" spin.

I guess it has it's "hit list" for the clintons.
LOL! Good one!
Hurricane HELLARY ? That's fitting ! 😱
Is Hilary an illegal hurricane? 😅😂😂

This is not the first time Hillary has wrecked havoc.
😳 🙄.
At this point if I heard it was hailing fire, I’d just say: Told y’all to repent.
It could be a biblical ending to LA
Maybe one boys name then one girls name then one neutral name then one open the dictionary name , then one open then thesaurus name, then one synonym name, then WHat ???? I got it one ethnic name then one after the location it makes landfall, then name of where it loses its wind speed and gives up its status, then add suffix for how many buildings it destroyed, this list could gone on for a long time for some PROPER DEI to throw in the face of America while SIRENS ARE LEFT UNUSED SO THE NATIVES WONT GET RESTLESS - Disgraceful Decision Making and Lack of Decision Making, we used to call it technically and sophisticated competence. I digress.
"Don't worry. Raising taxes your will stop it. Or, or was it raising gas prices, or, um, oh yeah. Eat ze bugs, live in ze pods, and own nothing. That it! That's the one. Anyway, I'm off on my private jet to Maui to snatch up some choice land to make my dream 15 minute ghettos, I mean cities. Ciao."
Since when did we start naming west coast tropical systems? Oh, wait, we need a climate narrative so lets hype everything to the Nth degree.
Hear you on the narrative, but pacific storms have been named for almost as long as the Atlantic. You just don’t hear about them as much because they don’t typically affect land like the Atlantic storms do.
@@ErikCB912 Now that I think about it, you're right. They fish, which if you're storm chasing they might as well not exist.
