    It is building, that's for sure! It's what it does if it makes landfall, that can be a real problem. I remember Hurricane Gloria, where it made landfall and it came on up into PA. It caused rivers to flood, washing out towns. It went all the way into Pittsburgh, flooding out power plants and several areas

    Hopefully Lake Mead (which supplies water to Southern California, Southern Nevada, and a good portion of Arizona) is filled up with lots of new water from this storm. Another possibility with this storm is reduced fire danger over most of the state even when the hot/dry Santa Ana winds start firing up from September-November.

      We have not been through a hurricaine for a reason. They don't form over the cold Pacific ocean. Southern CA has a north west wind swell (right now) of cold ocean water and there is not going to be any fuel for this storm from the ocean. They are just praying that it rains some some they can claim global warming. Fake News. It will be overcast on Sunday and Monday - that is all.

      I'm a native from San Diego - the last time anything even remotely like this happened, was back in 1939. It was a massive tropical storm that ended up killing (I believe) around 60 people... We are in no way prepared for this - and a lot of folks here aren't taking this very seriously at all. My own mother is telling me I'm overreacting. Hopefully she's right.

  • @michellesarasua3332

    Coming from someone that lives in the NW panhandle of Florida, all you people that are excited and blow this off as nothing and merely just a rain storm are idiots! While I understand the major need for rain in your area that will hopefully relieve most of the drought issues you have You have no idea what the issues and the danger that this storm could possibly bring! Do not be naive! Be prepared for the worst because things can change at any moment. I pray the forecast stays as told and it dials down to a tropical storm by land fall, but I know all too well that the forecasts on landfall location and strength are not always correct. This storm will reach a category 4 extremely close before it hits so what everyone needs to be praying for is that it does not hit you at a 4 or even a 3 because it would be complete devastation for you and your family and making it 10x’s worse if you are not prepared. Be sure you have a full tank of gas, Stock up on water, non perishable foods, batteries, flash lights, candles(be sure to go over fire safety especially if you have kids because all you need is your house to burn down in the middle of a hurricane), board games, baby supplies, medication, or anything else you can think of that you wouldn’t be able to get without a car, without power, without a phone(yes cell phone towers go can go down). While I hope this brings nothing but drought relief to your region you still need to be prepared because trust me you will never be regretful for having extra food/water and other supplies that most are things you will still use if it’s just a tropical storm when it hits but YOU WILL REGRET over and over again if you don’t prepare for the worst and you get hit with a major hurricane.
    Just my own personal PSA because after reading all these “YAY” comments from people that have absolutely no clue what they’re talking about I felt the need to put this out there.

      Yes, just like everywhere else in the world. We also have our fair share of idiots here too. People should get some canned food, bottled water, and toiletries as well, I just hope the selfish people don’t hoard everything like they did during the pandemic. I’m sure we’re going to have flooding, strong winds, power outages and a good amount of damage. But, the ones saying “yay, rain!” Let them get washed away. We could use a few less idiots. Let’s just hope that we don’t get hit with a massive earthquake right after. 😳
      And FYI, the vast majority of California is out of the drought due to an incredibly wet winter.

    Power goes out no atm for cash, gas pumps wont work, crowded freeways. Nothing worse muggy air with no aur conditioning. .... sirvived 2 floods. Its not fun. Hope this helps. When u call for a hotel ask for a Evac Rate. Pay ahead with a crecit card. Take care

    • @areareare9953
      @areareare9953 Год назад +3

      No - the system will be too small, and too fast to have any effect on the sea water temperatures - the ocean will have an effect on the storm - since it's cold water being drawn into the hurricane, it will get weaker the further north it tries to go. That's why hurricanes/tropical storms are so rare on the West Coast of the US.

Wouldn't that be funny if this hurricane hit hard and destroyed your place of residence making you a "bum" and I bet you consider yourself a Christian and a good person too right? Maybe one boys name then one girls name then one neutral name then one open the dictionary name , then one open then thesaurus name, then one synonym name, then WHat ???? I got it one ethnic name then one after the location it makes landfall, then name of where it loses its wind speed and gives up its status, then add suffix for how many buildings it destroyed, this list could gone on for a long time for some PROPER DEI to throw in the face of America while SIRENS ARE LEFT UNUSED SO THE NATIVES WONT GET RESTLESS - Disgraceful Decision Making and Lack of Decision Making, we used to call it technically and sophisticated competence. I digress.

      Hear you on the narrative, but pacific storms have been named for almost as long as the Atlantic. You just don’t hear about them as much because they don’t typically affect land like the Atlantic storms do.
