(4) STAY OFF THE STREETS DUE TO FLYING DEBRE.. (5) MAKE SURE YOUR CELLPHONES ARE FULL CHARGED, BECAUSE YOU MAY LOSE POWER FOR A WHILE.. (6) DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH ANY FLOODED AREAS UNLESS TOLD IT'S SAFE TO DO SO.. (7) KEEP KIDS, AND YOURSELVES AWAY FROM THE RIVERS.. BECAUSE THEY WILL FILL EXTREMELY QUICKLY.. AND, PEOPLE WILL BE SWEPT AWAY WITHOUT A CHANCE OF SURVIVING.. It's Going To Be A Tough Go In The Los Angeles Area For A Couple Of Days.. Good Luck...

    I'm a native southern Californian, and lived in Oceanside for several years. That is one area that is subject to serious flooding due to the San Luis Rey River. I recall the major flooding (nonstop rain for eight consecutive days) in 1980, in the trailer park we lived in in east Oceanside. We almost had to evacuate, but got the sorely needed and welcome reprieve just in time when the rains finally stopped. I was having to drive the back roads to work, because North River Road and Douglas Drive were closed. A couple of days, I had to phone in that I couldn't get out, and my bosses were very understanding and told me to stay home and stay safe.
    This should be welcomed in a way, because SoCal has been so dry for so long from the prolonged drought. This should help put a damper on some of the wildfires that occur down there every summer.
    From north Idaho, where I now live -- stay safe, folks, and use common sense.

    The mountain towns this weather forecaster mentioned have always been vulnerable in big storms in the past, whether summer cloudbursts or a winter snow storm. I used to live under them in Redlands at 1500 ft elevation. In fact, I know of many additional canyons under the San Gabriel mountains as well. But I now live in Garden Grove. I worry a little bit about flooded intersections but my wife and I can easily remain home until the storms end in the coming week. Maybe I am having a bit of denial. But time will see.

    The irony of watching this right when I got my "emergency alert"
    It's not even raining right now, despite predictions for it to have started already.

      @Firesgone 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@susanlovesjava4961 I live around SDSU in San Diego. My parents live next to a city runoff, but that area actually floods so everything is built for it there.
      Only a couple poorly built roads can flood, and maybe a couple houses of residents who know that the creek overflow reaches their doorstep.
      All that's going to happen is a few houses get sandbagged (unless they are especially dumb) for when the drainage reaches them on Monday.
      The wind? We get semi regular windstorms, 30 mph is unusual but not extreme. We are bult for earthquakes by law so everything is sturdy.
